Picked up the 935 TF version of this yesterday.

Near as I can tell, it behaves like this:

The damage is spread out over the duration of the effect (10 seconds) so the enemy is taking roughly 1/10th the rated damage per second.
The damage effect is not spread out - ie: each enemy in range takes the same amount of damage as a single target would.
The damage effect can crit on a per enemy basis - if it hits 10 enemies, 7 may crit and the others don't.
The sum of all the damage done, including the crits, is returned as heals x3 each second.

As a tanking trinket this seems lackluster especially with the long CD. A 60 second CD might make it useful in mythic+, but 90s is only good for boss fights and the trinket performs very poorly on single target. A 500k attack with a 1.5M heal every 90 seconds is marginally useful at best. The only time this trinket would shine is if you are in a fight where you expect to have lots of adds every 90 seconds or more when that 1.5M heal can get multiplied.

The damage scales kinda badly with ilvl, even the 955 version only deals ~600k AoE damage, about a third of 陰影月刃. Looks like the main budget here went into main stat + the self heal rather than the damage portion of the trinket. And they most likely have a shared (30 second) cooldown upon using one trinket, so you can't combine them either.

Ampoule of Pure Void is pretty much a multi-target version of Leviathan's Hunger (without the slow). The damage is extremely poor on single-target, but it outscales Leviathan's Hunger in damage/healing when you're using it on four or more targets, assuming both trinkets are close to the same ilevel. (i.e. It's really great on a fight like Skorpyron's Fun strat, which is pull everything)
The trinket's damage scales with versatility's damage bonus and artifact damage bonuses (including tank and healer +damage per trait level bonuses). It does not appear to scale with attack or spell power.
The damage (and by extension, the healing) on this trinket is halved for non-tanks.

When you use the trinket, a relatively small circle of void will spawn underneath you and remain there for the 10 second duration -- it won't follow you around. I'm not sure if other players can see the void circle, but if it's anything like Umbral Moonglaives, they probably can't.
