This is probably worthless to horde:

My hunter's bear won't eat it... so it can't fit into the hunter food categories Bread, Cheese, Fish, Fruit, Fungus, or Meat.
The only other categories I know of are Raw Fish and Raw Meat, which are only found with BC pets such as the Dragonhawk or Serpent. Thus, it's possible (though unlikely) that one of them could eat it.

Ok, for the allies. You'll need these for Murloc poachers, ~~which is an follow-up of selling fish~~. I found it out the hard way ^^

Indeed, Murloc poachers will be available when you hit level 20.

Not all that impossible to get. Just do across-faction AH transfer.

If you have a friend who has an Alliance toon (assuming here that you're Horde) have him buy it and put it on the AH in Booty Bay or other shared AH. Coordinate the transfer so someone else doesn't just happen to snarf it up. (Shared AH's are operated by the Steamwheedle Cartel - Booty Bay, Winterspring, and Gadgetzan.)

If you're solo (i.e. you have no friends) make an Ally toon and have it put one on the Booty Bay AH. You then log on with your Horde toon and buy it from the Booty Bay AH. Suggestions for this: Make one that can skin so he can put skins on the Stormwind AH to generate some cash to buy the blasted recipe. The downside is that the poor slob will have to swim the first time all the way to the Booty Bay AH. (He'll get eaten alive hoofing it through STV.) Have him get the FP at Booty Bay so he won't get dishpan hands, feet, etc. from swimming the next time you want to do a cross-faction transfer.

(You could have the Ally toon put up some grey junk for a pile of cash and have your Horde toon buy it - but remember that the AH takes a fair size chunk out of the transaction. It's quicker but you pay the price.)

Also, consider switching off your macros to speed up the logout/login times as there are some who look for "sweet" deals on the shared AH's - stuff worth "lots" being put up for mere copper. The quicker you can make the transfer the less chance you'll loose it. (When you see a lowbie at a neutral AH - you are probably witnessing a cross-faction transfer in action. QUICK - scan the AH for the Sword of Truth being sold for 50c!)

(Some players use cross-faction AH's to generate large amounts of gold. Some items are cheap on one faction but worth much more on the other faction. They buy from the cheap faction's AH then transfer it to the other faction's AH. The trick is to juggle items so that the gold generated finally ends up on the faction that you want the gold on. It does no good if your level 5 Ally toon has 20,000g - but your Horde toon is the one that needs the cash to get the Rein's of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. Personally, I don't have the patience for it.)

For Alliance, this is good for leveling up your cooking at around 120-150. Just east of Goldshire there's a few murlocs that spawn very quickly and drop these fins, as well as clam meat for Boiled Clams. In ten minutes, I got a stack of fins and 15 clams.

I just noticed that these fins were mined along with copper ore 3 times out of almost 1.3 million! Man, I would have loved to see the faces on the guys that managed that!
