So I was puttering around stormheim trying to get that one last pristine and a purple bordered skull spawns next to the fragment container. I click it and it summoned an elite skeletal mannoroth-style demon. Killing it gave some fragments, 3 marks of the deciever, and this bizarre item. The dig site wasn't even elite.

The gold value of former AP tokens was determined by the following:
Uncommon quality (green): 10 gold
Rare quality (blue): 25 gold
Epic quality (purple): 100 gold

The amount of AP in each token didn't matter, just the quality of the token itself.
Some tokens (such as those awarded from the Class Hall quests) do not follow this formula.

Edit: All AP tokens are now gray trash items.
