You may also notice that it appears to only drop off of mobs over level 50. The Ruins of Eldarath are covered with Sirens (Lv51-52) Warriors (Lv46-47) and Serpent Guards (Lv48-49). I'd suggest searching the beaches to the east of the ruins proper, where you'll find all the Sirens (Lv51-52) and Myrmidons (Lv50-51) that you could possibly want. That's where I got my drop.

I've done this quest twice now, first time it took me 56 kills (yes i was killing the right mobs) and the 2nd time it took me 2 kills, just pray you get some luck

50 Hunter - Grinded these for about just over 20 guys or so and it dropped. Faster than I expected. I assume that they are right, and the 1.4% and such are wrong. Killed the Sirens and Myridons. :)

For me the droprate was HORRIBLE.
I started at level 53 47% into the level, by the time I got it was level 54, 73% into the level.
At least it didn't take that long /sarcasm.

The drop rate is very bad for this quest. I killed about 15 of each type of spitelash before it finally fell off of a level 51 Myrmidon. Be prepared to fight long battles to get this rune. I believe it is worth the 9500 xp that you get from it. Good luck.

Took about 15 minutes of killing to get my drops. Third character through. I've had between 15-30 minutes to complete this quest. Really depends on luck of the draw. At level 51 rested I was getting about 600 xp a kill. Very good grind even if its long.

Took about 12-14 total Siren and Myrmidon kills to drop. Assuming I was slightly lucky in getting this, it's probably about a 3-4% drop... at least for me. Could be worse.

You should definitely look on the beachs for this, not the Ruins - only 1 mob in the Ruins can drop it (Sirens) while all mobs on the beaches can.

I kid you not, I killed about 10-15 sirens in the ruin area, got @#$%ed and read the comments here, and the next kill dropped the rune .....XD, WoWhead is magic ^.^

eeuhm i dont know if it's luck but i just killed 1 siren at the ruins and i had the rune.
the quest before this one with the 4 items in crates, i had them all in 1 crate. :D
is it just very very lucky or are the quests updated or something?

Go to the beach. I killed Sirens in the ruins forever without it dropping. Killed a 51 Myrmidon on the beach and dropped immediately.
