If you've come here looking for horror stories (or hope) on the drop rate how about this; (11) toons with lvl3 Herb Garden farming every day, that's every day, since Christmas (6 months) and nothing yet. Thankfully the herbs have more uses than just alch buffs and one can never have enough Primal Spirits.

If you're considering this same path I highly recommend Gorepetal's Gentle Grasp to salvage at least some of your life back.

Final Entry: A total of 7 1/2 months of doing the above before a drop. I'm going to bite my tongue and just be thankful it's finally over.

It's very irritating that a pet of such rarity has so many breeds. If you are going to make it this rare, at least give it a decent default breed.

I am curious if this battle pet can drop more than once per toon. I realize it is difficult to test due to the low drop rate but wondered if anyone had a story of it dropping twice on a single character?

I've found that herb gathering in Ashran is a great way to find Disturbed Podling. Around 80% of the herbs I gather in Ashran spawn a Podling.

If you're farming this, go to Ashran!

Do the podlings in your garrison still drop herbs/sproutlings in Legion?

After hitting level 101 I can no longer loot Ploddings that pop up after gathering an herb, even on my herbalists. However the Ore Eaters are still lootable.
I've put in a ticket to find out if this was an intended change or a bug. I will update when I find out more.

Even though 躁亂的魔花人 no longer drop herbs if you're above level 100, they can still drop the pet! I just got one on a level 102 character (that I'm farming seeds for the transmog weapons with), so make sure to check if they're lootable after you kill them.

Does the mob still spawn at garrison herb garden? I've been tending my garden daily for about 3 months now and did not see even one single Disturbed Podling spawn.

I got one today while farming Draenic Seeds in Tanaan Jungle from a Disturbed Podling.

Just posting to still confirm that this item/ pet still dropps! got it some minutes ago from a disturbed Podling, while farming some Apexis Crystalls and doing some Quests for Garrison with a twink at Tanaan Jungle :) - 01.02.2023

I looked and didn't find people out here crunching numbers, but I think the podlings have about an 8-10% randomized spawn probability. If the drop rate of the pet is 0.1% (also random) that would mean the drop chance is about 1/10,000 to 1/12,500 herb gathers.

Of course some people are going to get it sooner but those are daunting numbers lol.
