You'll probably end up running 20-30 times to get this to drop in all likelihood.

If youre trying to farm the saltstone set for transmogging, you can use this in place of the chest, however keep in mind that the boss only has a 1 in 6 chance of spawning and then only has a 1 in 4 chance of dropping the chest. You may end up getting it faster through diremaul runs while farming the other pieces.

50 runs of Ring of the Law today. Anub'shiah appeared 9 times and dropped everything but the chest. Sad day.

Good luck getting this !@#$in' thing. I've ran BRD 40 times so far and Anub has spawned a total of two times. I got jack ^&*! farming Den Whompers for two days straight so really my only option is paying a stupid amount of money on AH. RNG is a mother^&*!er.

Can anyone confirm that they have seen this drop since panda, or any of the other chest pieces?

edit, this is tedious farming, but dropped today, Wed 11/28/12 at 10:29 server time, Panda-5.1 was dropped in yesterday.

It took me roughly 50 runs, but as of 5.1 this still drops! out of those 50 Ring of Law runs, only 4 were Anub. Good luck to everyone trying this still, there is HOPE!

Just some quick numbers for potential farmers:

If there are 6 bosses, Anub'Shiah would have roughly a 16% chance to even spawn.
If Anub'Shiah even spawns, then there's approximately a 30% chance for the piece to even drop.

30% drop rate on a 16% spawn chance mob would roughly equate to a 5% chance to get the item from each zone reset.
-which averages out to a drop once every 20 runs.

of course this all based on averages, not RNG.

i got the saltstone legplates from the AH and started checking wich other pieces i needed, figured i was best of trying to get the chestpiece through brd considering 30-50 runs would stil be faster than killing millions of small mobs

asked a friend for a remote control to blackrock, we went in arena and we got anub'shiah, unfortunatly it dropped its cloack..
after that we ran out -reset- back in, we got him again, and the chestpiece dropped.

2 kills. 1 chestpiece.
(this day my RNG was epic, karazhan dropped spiteblade aswel as kings defender, legacy, light's justice and Triptych shield of the ancients.)

i guess i was lucky, did a few runs today, about 10 and faced this boss 2 times, it dropped on the second time, boots dropped the first time.

its worth a try, and it might drop quickly if your a bit in luck.

So we're currently in Patch 5.4.7 and I just ran BRD to get this chest. I'm not sure if the drop rate or chance to get this boss has increased but I got the chest on my first run. Ran it again on a different character and the chest dropped for that one as well.

I've probably done about two dozen runs, with no Carapace. But a run doesnt take long and, as an aside, many pieces of green transmog green drop at this level. As of now, I have several thousand gold in loot looking for buyers in the AH. So it's not a total waste of time.

Farmed 50 times got the boss 3 times and didn't drop. If it works for you get 戰士的擁抱 . WAAAAAAY easier to get!

Just wanted to give you guys my experience with obtaining the Carapace of Anub'shiah.
After 18 runs, Anub'shiah spawned 4 times. He dropped the cape first, then the boots twice, and on the 18th run he dropped the Carapace.

Just a little side note, after running this and resetting the instance you will have an hour lock. Not including the lockout time, it took me less than an hour to get this to drop.

what really pisses me off is the fact that I ran this 1000x just for gold grinding at higher level. BEFOR TRANSMOG! and I got this item many times. but now that I want it to add to my plate collection it hasn't dropped once.

I've got Anub 5 times so far all he's done is drop 2 cloaks. It's such a stressful encounter. *Anub appears out of the gate* "YEESSSS" in my head then he drops yet another cloak "NOOOOOO"...

I ain't no mathematician, but after my rudimentary math the boss has a 16.666 (1/6) chance to spawn and the drop rate is about 1/4.

Thus: ((1/6)/4)*100 = 4.16666% drop chance.

5 runs of BRD and I got the chest piece I've been looking for! The saltstone surcoat is running for 80K+ in my realm so I thought I would try out dungeon farming. Seriously only took ten minutes and I saved myself A LOT of gold! Still available in legion :)
