For those of you trying this, please don't do what I did. I'd been fishing for about 20 minutes with no sign of a lunker anywhere. I came here, and read up, and found nothing other than you can only have 5 of each type in your bag.

Nat must be working in your fishing shack for you to catch lunkers.

Now I wait for him to come off mission so I can go back to fishing.

Be sure you have Nat's Hookshot on your pole or this will not be catch able.

used ephemeral rod and nats hook and shiny bauble
i didn't need to be drunk , you don't need to be drunk to catch them.

Nat was not working in my shack just standing there and as with all lunkers i have caught i wasn't fishing in pools

For those of you trying to catch lunkers for Nat's coins to buy pet/mount, etc., the rng gods don't seem to live in Arak Spires. Spent the better part of a weekend looking for lunkers and got 3 after more than 800 casts and 520 Enormous Abyssal Gulpers. I tried a few places and it might be that you cannot get the lunkers where pools spawn--even when the pools are not yet up. In other words, avoid places where there are pools or you are going to be in for a long fishing expedition. On the up side, I will be able to feed my worthless Garrison minions for the next several years!

Don't be like me. I figured in the ocean in Spires would be good enough (as it's technically still in the zone). Nope. You have to travel inland and try and find a pool deep enough there. Should be called 'abysmal' lunker, because there's an 'abysmal' amount of water in this place.

At the southern most part of the pond in Murkbog there is a tree with mushrooms(?) growing out the side. I stood on them and got my lunker in 4 casts. No Pool, Not Bait, fishing skill of 814 (700 + 75 lure + 30 pole + 4 line + 5 boots) and the most important, the buff from Nat's Hookshot Bait.

I see a lot of comments saying you must have the Hookshot attached to your fishing pole, don't look at your pole for it, it shows up as a standard buff, not as a fishing enhancement.

Well... you don't need your friend Nat Pagle in your shack... you just need worm supreme and your pole... that's enough.

i found a good spot on 37 27...be sure you have your skill up too :)
