This is a pretty nice set. It's mainly good for combat rogues, but any person who likes to do arena with their rogue would be fine with this set. I do recommend that ones who are assassination, or subtlety, like mine, you would be better off with the Slayer's Armor, or at least tier 4 gear. They have higher agility, and AP, and that's stuff us sub rogues need more than stamina. They also come with better set bonuses. So, although, this is a great set to get for anyone, and an easier set to get than raid gear, i would only recommend it to the die hard arena/pvp fans.

And, yes, to reply to vengonktular, only the shoulders need the rating, but they made it that once you hit 2k, you can buy them, you don't have to maintain the rating

You might want to factor in the new additions to the sets when comparing t6 to s3. For example, factor in the boots/belts/bracers.
Here is comparing the complete sets of both:

Season 3:
Armor: 2953
Agility: 255
Stamina: 425
Attack Power: 326
Hit Rating: 36
Melee Critical Strike Rating: 159
Resilience Rating: 214
Armor Ignored: 252
Sockets: 1 Meta, 4 Red, 3 Yellow

Slayer's Armor:
Armor: 2679
Agility: 290
Stamina: 298
Attack Power: 650
Hit Rating: 124
Melee Critical Strike Rating: 130
Resilience Rating: 0
Armor Ignored: 350
Sockets: 1 Meta, 3 Red, 4 Yellow, 4 Blue

Verdict as to which is best: None. If you pvp, s3 is the set for you, if you pve, t6 is the set for you. You can use the sets interchangeably, but it will not give you the best results.

As of June 24th, with the release of S4, the prices on all Season 3 gear has been decreased:

Helm: 1500 Arena Points
Shoulders: 1200 Arena Points (1950 Team and Personal Rating)
Chest: 1500 Arena Points
Hands: 900 Arena Points
Legs: 1500 Arena Points

Total Arena Cost: 6,600 Arena Points

No longer available from any vendor it seems, even the exotic gear vendors in QD. Funny enough, 2 of the QD vendors sell the Season 2 set, and 1 sells Season 1. Why one doesn't sell Season 3 I have no idea.
