Alchemy has always been a stale profession. I'm hoping with some of the enhancements other professions have gotten, (such as the mount in leatherworking) alchemy gets a bit more love in this expansion.

It sucks having things like engineering get new mounts or pets or robotic servants while alchemists are stuck crafting the same four flasks all expansion long.

I think this is a first time that every single potion requires a meat (grind) of some sort. So, in essence... no longer will I be looking around, foraging for plants to be satisfied in getting what I need.

Now, I will have to bloody my blade at the same time... what would 大德魯伊拉索利厄思 have to say about that I wonder?

No metal / gem transmutes anymore? Suppose it makes sense with the changes to BS & JC, but kind of takes away from any of those folks who previously chose transmutation mastery. Don't suppose we're going to get a way to swap mastery...

I dgaf. Alchemy has provided so many beneficial potions through out every expansion... Not only are flasks the most optimal to create but Invisibility pots don't just come from thin air ( challenge modes )
There are Rage/Energy pots that are useful and probably over looked because they say level 35 on them...
There are an assortment of Speed Increase for Ground and Swim Speed.
There are an assortment of Luck potions that will help you farm those Green items better... the Pandarian ones alone have helped me rake in a GRAND amount of resources.
I just hope Alchemy can please provide some more useful items that will better my account over all this expansion so I can further my development in the game and earn some Real Achievements...
Mounts are great and all, but seriously there are like 500+ other ones we can choose from...

Does anybody know if our 鍊金師精煉藥劑 is usable in WoD? Does it upgrade to WoD stats? Or are we losing that also? Also is mixology still in the game or is Alchemy not allowed to have nice things anymore.

Could someone elaborate a bit HOW am I supposed to raise Alchemy in current beta patch? I am soon at lvl 98 but my options to raise Alchemy is still as bad when I started playing the beta. My only orange recipe is UNUSED and only yellow one is 鍊金催化劑. The rest of new recipes are no skill-up ones, mostly Draenic X Potions.

The NPC on my Alchemy Lab sells more recipes, but they all cost 德拉諾鍊金術奧秘 which supposedly created with 德拉諾鍊金術奧秘. I don't know that recipe nor have I seen those items drop, so I'm kind of puzzled what to do here.

Is anyone able to tell the difference between Transmutation and Flask/Elixir mastery if all we transmute is going to be the Alchemical Catalysts? What is the difference between a transmutation specialist proccing an extra catalyst versus turning 1 catalyst into a multiple flask proc? If the end goal of the catalysts is only going to be flasks (after you made your trinket) then what is unique between the two?

I have a question regarding Alchemy, and perhaps I'm skimming over the guide TOO much and missed it. My main is an Alch/JC. At the moment in MoP (with some help of alts to farm mats) Alchemy and Jewelcrafting have a great synergy using Golden Lotus and what not. In WoD is it worth keeping them both on the same toon? Cause from what I read, I might think about dropping one of them and pick up herbalism (for alch) or mining (for JC). Please help!

I have been trying for months and months to learn Transmute living steel..to no avail! I am level 90 and 600 in alchemy with all the appropriate kills needed..but its so flippn slow..any ideas? I try and "learn something new" on every transmute..but in the beginning I got new spells..but absolutely nothing for months..I asked a GM if it was bugged and they sent me on here....

any help would be welcomed...

not sure if this is a bug with the curent beta patch or not but the lower teir agi,strength and int flasks are giving crit,mastery and multistrike instead of agi,int and strenght

Please tell me there's a lvl 100 item lvl 640 epic Philosophers stone... and that it can be upgraded to 655, 665.. all the other professions get an item that's BoE too. I guess we alchemy will make enough gold with potions and flasks so maybe a 640(655,665) BoP stone?

So from what i can tell from this list, we are getting nothing but new versions of old stuff and now we have to use daily cd's just to make flasks? We're also losing a lot of transmutes and our recipes require us to have multiple other professions outside of alchemy/herbalism. I understand we'll be able to get some of that from garrisons but alchemists are going to have to build their entire garrison around that one profession with all the fishing, meat, ore, etc. needed and not even truly benefit from it.

Why don't they just give potions to the fishing/cooking professions since they don't require anything from alchemy or herbalism? Nothing but fish and meat.....

I think whoever is in charge of this profession's advancement needs fired and hire someone with an imagination. Why can't we get stuff like turning herbs into pets or maybe use herbs/flowers for various toy ideas. They could even add a mutated plant as a mount for alch. only. The only mount we have requires archaeology and anyone can use it. From what i can tell alchemy has gotten less and less from each expansion since the beginning. I really hope this isn't the final list and all we get.

Alchemy seems to be the weakest crafting profession now as the BoP gear (the trinket) you get can't be upgraded unlike all of the other power-increasing items crafted by other professions. Since vanilla my mage has been alch and will now be dropping it for Inscription (better trinket than Alch's all-around) or Tailoring.

Question... in the beta, one of the potions sold by the big tauren in Orgrimmar was a health potion (not the rejuvenation one; it was a pure health potion). Its icon was like that of Draenic Mana Potion, except in red instead of blue. Am I just being dumb or something, or is that health potion not on the list above? I've not found an alchemy recipe for it anywhere? Did they just decide not to include it in live or....?

EDIT: Aoife59 below is right; the potion is called Healing Tonic, and indeed it is made by first aid. Thank you!

All other professions seem to be providing craftable armor/weapon except Alchemy. Plus alchemy has no benefits in terms of pets or mounts etc. (at least in wod). PLus they removed the alchemy masteries. The profession looks really weak and it can be considered to switch it with another profession

I had such high hopes for Alchemy in this expansion since one of the major enemies were the Botani. They are plants that want to kill us and make us their zombies.

With this grand opportunity to FINALLY make Alchemy interesting and have uses outside the everyday job we have to do, they didn't do a single thing with this profession. Where is the Botani mount? Where is the Botani transmog set? Where are the Botani pets? Where are the new potions than can make you mind-control enemies with Botani magic? Where are the Botani trapvines that CC enemies in order to give all Alchemists one more CC option?

Where is anything? Where is everything we wanted? Let me tell you, it is NOT here. I really hope Blizzard doesn't give us the blind eye once again just like when they gave us the one and only Alchemy mount (which really isn't a mount, but more of a forme) and made us have to grind Archeology for months just to get the recipe to make it. I mean, we don't even benefit in the slightest from the Flasks we make ourselves. Yeah, they gave us a trinket that we can use at level 90, but it's worse than the trinkets that we already have, and the raids haven't even opened yet. They could at least have given us the option to upgrade our Alchemists Stone.

It is about time we get some fun stuff too.

I see many complaints about the lack of imagination here- and that's a valid point- but where's my basic healing potion? I can make a Draenic Mana Potion (restores mana only), I can make a Draenic Rejuvenation Potion (restores mana AND health), but there's no draenic health potion for last-minute life saving of non-caster characters?

Edit: I found the healing tonic. It's a first aid item. :|

Alchemy for me is dead , and to do or the dungeon quest to do them is way out of reach. Very sad in how they have done this . Alchemy cant advance any further for me . Blizzard you need to look in too this. One very unhappy player and i have been with you from day one ..
