Overview

All level 90 players in a raid can work on the legendary questline at the same time. it's been purposely designed to cut down on loot drama and the feeling that one person in your raid ends up overpowered.

This legendary series spans the expansion, with more elaborate rewards each tier.

The reward for 第一章:黑龍王子的考驗, added in 5.0, is a +500 stat gem that can be placed into a special Sha-Touched weapon, of which there are versions on LFR, Normal, and Heroic difficulty. These gems only work in Sha-Touched weapons.

The reward for 第二章:怒西昂的戰爭, added in 5.1, is an additional prismatic socket, 黑龍王子之眼. This socket works on both Sha-Touched and 5.2 raid/crafted weapons, but not heroic scenario or 圍攻奧格瑪 weapons.

The reward for 第三章:兩個王子, added in 5.2, is a legendary meta-gem. This can be applied to ilvl 502+ helms added in 5.2 and beyond.

The reward for 第四章:天尊的祝福, aded in 5.3, is an ilvl 600 cape.

The 5.4 reward for 第五章:黑龍王子的審判 is a legendary cape with a powerful proc and unique visual effect.

Patch 5.4 introduces a catch-up mechanism for players behind on the legendary questline. The first eight bosses in 圍攻奧格瑪 have a chance to drop a 力量符印, 智慧符印, 帝國秘史, or 泰坦符石. In addition, all bosses in 雷霆王座 can drop 力量符印 and 智慧符印.

You do not need 黑龍王子的考驗 in your log to get reputation from kills.

Reputation is gained by killing Mogu and Mantid in 螳螂荒原, 恆春谷, 悚然荒野. You can get reputation easily while doing 金蓮會 and 卡拉西 dailies.

Normal mobs give 10-12 reputation.

Elites give 15-30 reputation.

Rare Elites give 40-45 reputation.

Adds give 1-3 reputation.

You can use items like 協調戰旗 to boost your reputation gains.

If you are a rogue that has completed 弒父, you can skip this step.

敵人的力量: Collect 10x 力量符印 and 10x 智慧符印
The 10x 力量符印 and 10x 智慧符印 will be lootable by anyone on the quest.

These items drop in Tier 14 instances, and in 5.4, they will drop from all 雷霆王座 bosses, as well as the first eight bosses in 圍攻奧格瑪.

These quest items can drop in all difficulties, including LFR.

上樓碰面: Wrathion has been visited by Anduin at the Tavern in the Mists, who wants to discuss the events that befell him in Patch 5.1. You'll then be given the next two quests:
初代帝國秘史: Collect 20 帝國秘史 and 40 延齡錠s.
延齡錠: made from 轉化：延齡錠 or 熔煉延齡錠.

帝國秘史: These drop from bosses in 雷霆王座, on LFR, Normal, or Heroic difficulty. 雷神 is guaranteed to drop a 帝國秘史. In 5.4, the first eight bosses in 圍攻奧格瑪 can drop 帝國秘史 as well.

泰坦的回聲: Collect 12 泰坦符石s from raid bosses in the Chambers of Flesh-Shaping and the Halls of Thunder. These are the last six bosses in 雷霆王座, and it's a guaranteed drop from 雷神. In 5.4, 泰坦符石 will drop from the first eight bosses in 圍攻奧格瑪 as well.

雷王之心: Slay the Thunder King in the Halls of Thunder and collect the 雷王之心. This awards 第三章:兩個王子.

Black Prince Scenario雷霆熔爐

Visit Wrathion, in whelping form, by the Thunder Forge to start the scenario.

In the early stages, you will protect Wrathion as he charges up the Thunder Forge--a progress bar will display on your screen.

You will fight waves of Mogu with the help of Shado-Pan NPCs. Balls of blue lightning will periodically appear, which will increase your damage and healing.

Enter the forge where 星穹鐵匠 begins to charge the anvils. You must defend 星穹鐵匠 from small sha adds, and have the help of 星穹防禦者, who has several useful abilities like 星宙斬擊, 星穹風暴, and 星穹咆哮. Standing in green beams created 能量激增 by will heal you, and you can click on the completed anvil to do AoE damage.

When the anvils are charged, 煞的融合體 is summoned and 星穹防禦者 will tank this fight for you. Some more details about the defender:
The defender does more damage based on its health: 星界堅毅

The defender cannot die. It instead activates 星穹恢復 and heals itself up while banished. In these phases, it is wise to kite the boss--you may need a speed boost.

能量激增 is still active in this phase.

煞的融合體

You must interrupt 瘋狂 or you will die. Clicking on one of the charged anvils interrupts the ability and makes 煞的融合體 take additional damage for a few seconds. The anvils periodically recharge throughout the fight.

黑暗束縛: Banishes the 煞的融合體 tank.

隕石雨: The sha summons a deadly meteor storm in the area, causing massive damage to any target who is hit.

暗影暴擊: Fires a missile towards an enemy at range. When this missile lands, it deals 127237 to 142762 Shadow damage to all enemies within 10 yards of that location and 47500 to 52500 Shadow damage to enemies within the area every 2 sec for 20 sec.

At low HP, Wrathion finishes the lance. Click the lance, and then use your special action button 投擲長槍 to kill the 煞的融合體.

第四章:天尊的祝福: Epic Cape Reward

sends you to talk to Wrathion after the defeat of the Thunder King and collecting 12 泰坦符石. In Patch 5.4, you will be able to get 泰坦符石 from the first eight bosses in 圍攻奧格瑪 as well as the last six bosses in 雷霆王座.

天尊的祝福: You must defeat one of the four celestials--each Celestial's challenge is designed for a specific spec/role. All versions have the following:
死亡重生之血: Creates a pool of Deathborne blood that inflicts 50000 Fire damage every 1 second.

Summons 奈薩里奧之淚, which have 強力之血: The caster grows more powerful over time, increasing damage done and movement speed. Stacks.

烈火之治: Inflicts 48750 to 51250 Fire damage.

The DPS challenges, Xuen and Yu'lon, have 潰碎弧擊, 洞悉要害, and pop mirror images that cast 煉獄.

The tank challenge, Niuzao, and healing challenge, Chi-Ji, fixate on Wrathion with 毀滅者之眼, extra damage in 熔火之怒, and summon 熔岩元素 that cast missiles.

The 5.4 questline starts when Wrathion sends you to the Timeless Isle in 關於永恆的發現.

Once there, you must collect 0 永恆硬幣 for 永恆之島的秘密. This should go pretty quickly as killing rares can drop several hundred coins. However, this does not track your cumulative total--you need the 0 永恆硬幣 on hand and unspent to complete the quest. To speed up the process, consider doing introductory quests like 時光精華 which reward 0 永恆硬幣 and loot special one-time chests for 寶藏，到處都是寶藏.

You must also defeat four new world bosses, the celestials, in 皇帝之道. Their PTR dungeon journals are below. These bosses drop ilvl 553 Tier 16 gloves and legs, as well as Season 14 PvP accessories, legs, and gloves. They spawn in a set order, and if you wipe, the next Celestial will spawn so you'll have to wait a while.

Chi-Ji, The Red Crane The trial of Chi-Ji is a test of hope. Uncertain of the future of his people, Emperor Shaohao sought out the great Red Crane. The Great Crane challenged Shaohao to find the hope within himself, and cast off his uncertainty. Once the Sha of Doubt was vanquished, the Emperor became a beacon of hope for his people. To pass the trial of the Crane, warriors must believe in hope, even in the darkest of days.

Inspiring Song: Chi-Ji sings an inspiring song, healing for 5% of maximum health every 1 sec. for 10 sec.

Firestorm: Summons a blazing whirlwind of fire, which inflicts 200000 Fire damage to players within 10 yards every 2 sec. and moves around.

Beacon of Hope: Chi-Ji designates one player as a Beacon of Hope, reducing damage taken by 90% for all players within 10 yards for 20 sec.

Blazing Song: After designating a Beacon of Hope, Chi-Ji sings a Blazing Song, inflicting 500000 Fire damage every 2 sec. for 10 sec.

Crane Rush: At 66% and 33% health remaining Chi-Ji summons a flock of Children of Chi-Ji over 15 sec.

Child of Chi-Ji: Children of Chi-Ji flock away from Chi-Ji, casting a Blazing Nova every 1 sec

Blazing Nova: Deals 300000 Fire damage to players within 4 yards.

Jadeflame Buffet: Inflicts 30000 Fire damage to all nearby players and increases Fire damage taken by 5% for 1 min. This effect stacks.

Jadefire Breath: Inflicts 300000 Fire damage to players within a 40 yard cone.

Jadefire Bolt: Launches several Jadefire Bolts, creating Jadefire Blazes at the impact locations.

Jadefire Blaze: Inflicts 100000 Fire damage to players within 11 yards every 1 sec.

Jadefire Wall: Summons a massive wall of jade fire, inflicting 500000 Fire damage to players caught within the blaze.

Headbutt: Inflicts 1000000 Physical damage, knocks the player back and removes all threat.

Oxen Fortitude: Niuzao tests the enemy's fortitude, increasing all players' health by 20% and Niuzao's damage dealt by 10% per stack for 2 min. This effect stacks.

Massive Quake: Inflicts 50000 Physical damage every 1 sec. for 10 sec.

Charge: At 66% and 33% health remaining, Niuzao charges around the arena, inflicting 500000 Physical damage to enemies within 30 yards every 1 sec.

Spectral Swipe: Xuen swipes at players in a 0 yard cone, inflicting 300000 Physical damage and reducing armor by 10% for 1 min.

Leap: Leaps at a player, performing a Spectral Swipe upon landing.

Crackling Lightning: Inflicts 50000 Nature damage to players every 1 sec. and jumps to up to 5 nearby targets.

Chi Barrage: Launches a barrage of Chi at players, inflicting 500000 Nature damage to players within 3 yards of the impact locations.

Agility: Increases haste by 300% for 1 min.

怒兆堅毅: The Endurance of Niuzao fully absorbs the damage of one attack that would normally kill you. This effect has a 2 min cooldown. Does not function for non-Tank-specialized characters.

玉龍精華: Your damaging spell casts have a chance to empower you with the Essence of Yu'lon, causing you to hurl jade dragonflame at the target, dealing 1 (+ 200% of Spell power) damage over 4 sec. This damage also affects up to 4 other enemies near the burning target. (Approximately procs per minute)

赤吉之靈: Your helpful spells have a chance to grant you Spirit of Chi-Ji, increasing all healing done by 5% and causing all overhealing on players to be redistributed to up to 5 nearby injured friends, for 10 sec. (Approximately 0.58 procs per minute)

雪怒亂舞: Your damaging attacks have a chance to trigger a Flurry of Xuen, causing you to deal 1 (+ 20% of Attack power) damage to up to 5 enemies in front of you (hunter: current target and up to 4 enemies around them), every 0.3 sec for 3 sec. (Approximately procs per minute).

This quest is so very unreasonably time consuming. Especially on the 'collect 12=20 of an item that will likely only drop once per week' parts.

I gave up at 12 'Secrets of the Empire' Grinding day after day with nothing to show is not the way to keep someone motivated. Blizzard may as well make the 'postmaster' mail you an 'f-u' notice after each appropriate raid.

Came here looking for an overview of each of the challenges, prior to getting the cape. Specifically, I was looking for tips on the ranged challenge. It would be awesome if the guide could include info on the fighs and the spells Wrathion uses.

My thoughts on this quest chain is this
Chapters 1and 2 should be removed because the rewards are pretty much useless. Like who is going to use these? Especially if you have a better wep. And if you dont you can quickly get a better one. I'd get rid of most of chapter four and keep the beginning of the chapter and the scenario thingy and merg it with chapter 5. I'd keep chapter 3 mostly cause that can be a pretty sweet dps boost.(feel free to voice against me and correct any mistakes since i am using a phone its hard to type)

This is a list of raids and bosses to assist in getting sigils, secrets and runestones. In addition, since LFR can start in the middle of a raid you can use this list to find out which bosses you have missed and want needs to be re-ran to get all of your drops, since the drops are one drop per week.

I would like to point out that even though you cannot get sigils, runestones or secrets more than once from the same boss once a week(or attempt to even) you can still get 千懼聚魂體 and 雷王之心 after having killed the bosses for sigils or runestones earlier in the same week. I know this as I yesterday went pinnacle of storms, got my last runestone on Lei Shen, then proceeded to do pinnacle of storms again, only to loot the heart once killing him. I also killed Sha of Fear while on Sigils quest, then went back, killed him and got the chimera, in the same week.

I've been wondering which cape to get, I'm a blood DK with purgatory as one of my talents, so the Niuzao cape seems more or less pointless. Any thoughts?

Also, you should add to this guide, the fact that you can get the 3 "piju" brews from Timeless Isle to use for the Trial of the Black Prince. At least for the DPS challenge, these 3 useable in combination trivialize the encounter.

Just to clarify anyone with this same question;
Yes, you can obtain the Thunder King's Heart even if you have already obtained a Titan Runestone, due to their looting systems difference. That is because you may or may not be awarded a Titan Runestone (Of course, if it is the Thunder King, it WILL certainly drop.) as the boss is killed, but The Heart of the Thunder King is an item that you must LOOT off the body of the Thunder King.

Just doing a little calendar math on this, since it's going to be going away on November 13th. Assuming you get lucky with drops and also with the assist from the Gaze of the Black Prince buff, currently it takes roughly 8 weeks from start to finish:

10 Sigil of Power and 10 Sigils of Wisdom, from 36 bosses (assuming you aren't farming them on multiple raid level lockouts), should take you 1 week.
3000 Valor Points takes 3 weeks (or it will until the pre-WoD patch when it is removed from the game).
20 Secrets of the Empire, from 20 bosses, should take 2 weeks.
12 Titan Runestones, from 14 bosses, should hopefully take only another 2 weeks.

So, with WoD coming out on November 13, it would be best to have started the process on or before the week of September 16th, in otherwords, right now. Of course you have to pick up the initial quest in the line before the pre-WoD patch, the date of which is currently unknown, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was pushed live 4-6 weeks before WoD. Otherwise, the removal of the Valor quest is utterly meaningless, because any shorter time between pre-patch and WoD would prevent the final two collection quests from being completed at all. Hopefully, Blizzard have considered this and will either boost drop rates in the pre-patch, or will give enough time to account for poor luck.

I realize I'm being super optimistic on the drop rates, but as I'm currently trying to finish two capes, I've noticed that I'm averaging about 11 Secrets a week, and in the early stages of Titan Runestone collecting have 4 from 7 bosses. Obviously this is a very small sample size, and the RNG gods could choose to screw me over from here on, but anybody intending to get this done should start immediately if they haven't done so already. Time is running short!

it does not take 3 weeks to complete test of valour - it takes 4.
Most likely, but the time you get the quest, you will have already capped valour or be about 500 in.

Don't think you can pick the starting quest anymore. Recently dinged 90 and couldn't find any npc that would hand me the mysterious note to deliver to Wrathion.

I've got 15 of the needed Secrets. Is there anyway I'm going to be able to get this finished by next week? I just want to know if I need to continue to bust my butt trying.

Is Blacktalon Quartermaster staying when WoD is out? So that we can buy extra craps and Timeless Essence of the Black Dragonflight (for those who have done the legendary questline of course)?

I haven't complete this quest line in MoP, and i heard that in WoD they delete this quests, can i still obtain the cape to kill Ordos?

REMIX - Wrathion: Reputation is gained by killing Mogu and Mantid... which ones because I cannot find any
All I have found for Wrathion rep is a Celestial in Timeless Isle every week it gives 500 rep. With only 40 days remaining I am thinking this wont cut it.
