Which is now updated to Mists of Pandaria with required skill levels! What do we know about mining?"Mining is one of the many valuable gathering professions, capable of harvesting minerals from nodes located around the world. A miner must raise his skill by gathering different qualities of minerals, and can smelt the ore into bars which are commonly used by Blacksmithing and Engineering. These smelted bars are also used as currency to purchase Cataclysm recipes.

A miner must purchase a mining tool and carry it on their person to be able to harvest a mineral node. These mining tools can be quite innovative and double as weapons. Raw, unsmelted ore can also be used in Jewelcrafting for Prospecting, from which jewelcrafters can extract uncommon and rare gems. Ore can be placed in Mammoth Mining Bag, made by Leatherworkers.

In addition, miners can loot Volatiles from Cataclysm nodes; it's generally faster than farming specific mobs. Elementium Geode is a rare BoE pet from Cataclysm nodes as well.

Mining White Trillium Ore is especially useful for Jewelcrafters in Mists of Pandaria because it prospects to Sparkling Shard which are needed for the JC-only Serpent's Eye.

Mining in guild counts towards the achievement Mighty Miners.Profession-specific Perk

I was thinking about that guide recently, and the only thing better would be to indicate when there is a spawn sharing, you indicate which spawns the most and what the other route means. Like you did for that one in Thousand Needles. By flying and by land was clear. But not the other ones.

I also found that with the copper ore you can simply mention that the most veins will be close to any beginning storyline for both sides. This way, one will know when they are encountering a low level area. Northern Barrens, and Lor' Danel also consists of an exuberant amount of copper ore other than the early level lands.

Tin ore is usually found between the levels of 17 and 30. Iron is between 30 and 45. When you reach level 45, start heading to the burning steppes. Regardless of the side you are on, you can find plenty of Mithril there and in the Blackrock side as well. Not only will you level mining here, but you will also gain a lot of character levels too.

You can skip silver and gold. Gold veins spawn in Burning steppes too quite a bit near Thorium point close to Grimslit Dig site.

When you reach level 58, begin mining in Outland starting with the area before...oh wait...ha ha! I am telling my own guide to you.

Anyway, my point was there are better areas to mine before Icecrown. I agree with your guide in Icecrown. I found elementium in Uldum. Yes, my highest toon is only level 65, but with flying, I found 2 decent elementium veins higher up and you must fly to get them in Uldum.

I hope this helps.

Love the simplicity, but Skill numbers would have been a little more helpful (ie: go here when u hit 350) also, not the best choices in zones in the WotLK expansion, Borean Tundra & Sholazar Basin are much better for the sheer amount of veins in those areas.

this guide is pretty good

This guide is very well done. To the point and accurate. Except for one very evident flaw/error. 泰坦鋼礦石 can most definitely be prospected. In fact, I did it earlier today for some 泰坦鋼粉末 needed for WotLK end-game currency Dalaran Jewelcrafting Tokens. Jewelcrafters need them to buy the WotLK epic gem recipes.

I don't know if anyone said this before, but going around the rim of Un-goro crater is brilliant for rich thorium nodes. Same for where the volcano is in the middle.
