. This guide will teach you how to play Destruction Warlock in both Awakened Raids and Mythic+ dungeons, and provide you with the best Talent Tree builds to use in every raid boss and dungeon.

How Good is Destruction Warlock in Dragonflight Season 2?
Destruction Warlock Raid Viability
Destruction has historically been a very attractive spec to bring to your raid. This is due to the nature of how our damage works. We can pool up soul shards, and then deal large amounts of damage into a single-target priority target being of great benefit for our raid. Another strong-point of Destruction is the two-target cleave coming from
浩劫
cleave resulting in us dominating that damage profile.
While some of this is still true, we're now able to specialize in doing one thing extraordinarily well with the talent system that's been implemented with Dragonflight. An example of this could be the two-target damage profile. We're now able to pick up
精神崩亂
to extend the duration of
浩劫
, or
哭號浩劫
turning
浩劫
into a splash damage dot. We can further empower this by
輪迴浩劫
granting us a strong intellect buff when duplicating spells with
浩劫
. There are also other talents that play well into this damage profile such as
魔焰高漲
extending
獻祭
duration on targets.
In short, the thing that makes Destruction viable in Dragonflight season 2 is the option to specialize in just the type of damage your group needs for that encounter.
Destruction Warlock Mythic+ Viability
Destruction has historically been an attractive spec for Mythic+ multiple seasons. Lastly, this was in the 3rd season of Shadowlands where Destruction saw a very large amount of play. But is Destruction going to be as viable for Mythic+ in Dragonflight season 2?
As with raiding, the thing that makes Destruction viable in Dragonflight season 2 is the option to specialize in just the type of damage your group needs for that encounter. This is probably more relevant when filling a spot in a raid group than in a dungeon group, however. While we do offer some type of utility, it's hard to say what Destruction does better than other classes and specs.
Destruction does offer different types of damage for Mythic+, this can be through a heavy AoE spec revolving around casting
燒盡
with

and then spending soul shards on
火焰之雨
with

. This could also be a setup with
災變
into

. Both of these setups offer some sort of AoE damage, while still doing solid single-target boss damage.
In conclusion: You can certainly play Destruction in Mythic+, but it's unlikely it's going to be the preferred spec for a lot of people.

Impact of Dragonflight Season 2 Tier Set for Destruction Warlocks
As these bonuses revolve around

, this is likely going to be a talent we want to pick up in season 2. Having this as a button just allows us to gain that much more from this, as well as allowing us to control when we'll want this buff. During bloodlust, you're going to have very high up-time on the 4-set bonus. You're also able to cast a

stacking this up to 8 stacks, and then do a
浩劫
rotation benefitting from the full 4-set buff.

Hi Loozyy!
Thanks for the guide. Especially explaining >/<5 targets Havoc goal (spending/building shards).
I haven't played a lock since WoD.
As such, one basic info I was missing from this guide is our demon. Which should we be using (I see Grimoire of Sacrifice isn't a thing anymore :() and any optimizations if applicable.
