This priority below seeks to optimize item level while pursuing high Crit and Versatility rings to enhance their value. Crit is a very valuable overall HPS buff as is Versatility while it is equal in value to Mastery. Pursue item level upgrades, as these often lead to having a more balanced level of Crit and other stats on your gear.

Diminishing Returns in
Accumulating too much of one Secondary stat from your gear leads to diminishing returns. This means that adding more of the same stat beyond certain thresholds results in reduced benefits. These thresholds are fixed and reduce the amount gained from more of that stat rating by 10% per breakpoint. Each stat has a different rating threshold where the reduction begins:
Critical Strike
- Above 1380 rating
Haste
- Above 1320 rating
Mastery
- Above 1380 rating
Versatility
- Above 1620 rating
Example
Let's assume you gain 1% Haste for 10 Haste Rating. When above the diminishing return breakpoint, 10 Haste Rating would give you 0.9% Haste instead, resulting in a 10% reduction from what you gained previously.
Note that this system
only counts stat rating
, meaning that percentage-based procs and effects like

aren't factored in and will always grant their full benefit.

If you are new to healing or struggling to keep people alive in general, you should most certainly get a large chunk of mastery in M+. You can't contribute damage when your party is dead.
