I have just reached 3/3 Friendship with Vivianne on my level 96 warlock. However, I see no quest, when I talk to her she does not offer a portal, and I have yet to see her cast a meteor in combat.

I can only conclude that both abilities are only unlockable at level 100. Please feel free to confirm or point out if I am somehow mistaken.

(by the way, Vivianne is consistently out dpsing me. Love her!)

Vivianne:

I love her as a bodyguard. Her AoEs are really nice, she stays alive, and when you nuke 1 target (like lvl100 rares) her stacking fireball does INSANE amount of DPS. I recommend her for every situations. (the portal is nice too)

If you are having trouble getting Vivianne's fireball spell to stack on rares and npc's with lots of health, try pulling the mob away from her. Fireball has a longer range than Blizzard so she will only cast Fireball on far away mobs. From what I've seen, Fireball will stack until the target dies so her DPS can get pretty high.

Is it just me or is this amazing bodyguard a nod to Vivi?

Vivianne is the highest damaging follower from what I can see. Just keep her at max range so her fireballs DoT stacks.

It stacks to 99 and will be ticking every 2 seconds for 64k.

Just killed Tarlna the Ageless with my holy priest.
I had Vivianne (Personal Wingman level) with me.
Recount shows me as the highest DPS with 32299 dps!
Vivianne did 9996758 damage with her fireball DoT, this is insane!

This bodyguard is amazing for longer fights such as world bosses. I pulled over 50k dps with her and was so confused til I started looking at my dmg meters to see how that was possible since I usually only pull around 20k dps.

Her fireball was hitting for 77k and averaging 48k. It did 8.84m dmg over 4 1/2 minutes. Best bodyguard imo.

EDIT: When she gets 99 stacks of her DOT on a target she averages ~47k dps!
Every 2 seconds her DOT ticks for 80,460 / 80,461 dmg.
That comes out to about 813 dmg per stack.

She refreshes or adds to her DOT about every 3 seconds so it takes ~4.95 minutes to reach full stacks. This is a long time but even after a minute she's doing around 10k dps.

When your reputation reaches "Trusted Bodyguard" and "Personal Wingman" with her, she will provide you with quests on each reputation level which will unlock her second and third ability. You NEED TO BE 100 to be able get these quests.

If you're like me get annoyed that your follower is always in the way, obscuring objects you want to interact with, there's an addon to solve just that: Bodyguard Away. It disables the gossip window that pops up everytime you accidentally click on your follower.

Ctrl+Click will show the window in case you want to send your follower away.

Just finished fighting Rukhmar in the Spires and noticed my DPS being double of my teammates' DPS (40k). That was ofc impossible (since I'm a elemental shaman and usually do no more than 20k).
Then I noticed that my Vivianne has stacked her Fireball DoT over 75 times on him. I believe that must be the reason.

Could someone else confirm that? If that is so, Vivianne will be a very useful addition to every Draenor world boss encounter (untill Blizzard fixes it xD )

I know she is wearing slaughterhouse shoulders, robes of the arcane ultimatum, and the cloak. But does anyone know a suitable belt, boots, and gloves combination to match?

I have decided to do inside test of all my Garrison Followers how much DPS they can pull against Training Dummies.

I did this to find out which Follower is the best to take on a patrol during Garrison Invasion content.
Each test took 1 minute.
I'm not testing bodyguards here.

After few hours of "training" it turnd out that the winner is… Leeroy!
He does some sick dps (also aoe) and even sicker healing. That makes him King of Garrison Invasion companion.
Tho Aeda Brightdawn does more dps, she doesnt heal and she tends to die during invasion.

Honorable mentions are:
1. Aeda Brightdawn - for best dps.
2. Harrison Jones - for most bizzare style.
3. Choluna - good single target dps.
4. Garona Halforcen - good single target dps.
5. Vivianne - good aoe.

Below You can see test results for all my active Followers.
As you can see Followers' iLvl scales with their DPS (Leeroy is an example here).
I will be adding new followers as soon, as I'll test them.

You must be lvl 91 in order for the quest "Ashran Appearance" to become available that tells you to fly to Ashran and speak to Bron Skyhorn. He escorts you down the hill to the Inn where you turn in your quest and pick up another. Go into the Inn complete the quest and accept the next one that has you speaking to 3 particular npc's in the zone and when you return to the Inn the npc gives you a quest to go and speak to Vivianne. Vivianne then will give you her quest to become a follower. This chain starts from Gazlowe in your Garrison at LVL 91. (Note: Just on the left side of the door to the Inn is another follower you can get called Fen Tao, just speak to him) Good Luck!

She is an absolute beast. Extremely useful for Tanaan. She sometimes does up to 30% of my damage. Insane AoE, especially once you level her to 2. No other bodyguards can even compare to her.

Vivianne is loveable and all (when she doesn't get in the way) but I can't shake my mind out of the belief that she's a spy with orders from Sylvanas to check on your progression in Draenor.

Vivianne must be dismounted when you ask her to "Open a portal to your garrison", otherwise she ignores you.

My Vivianne got stuck in combat. Even after we had returned to Vol'Mar and turned in quests, she was continuing her in-combat speech phrases, and would not open a portal back to my garrison. It was easy enough to fix, didn't even have to log out. Just take the portal to Warspear/Ashran and back again.

TO get her (or ANY bodyguard) rep to wingman in 20 minutes per bodyguard do the following.

1. While in Gorgrond pick up the quest you get from Cutter in Moria's Bastion (around 47. 93.) called Iyu.
2.DO NOT COMPLETE the quest!
3. As you are walking out of the cave tons of iyun pustules will spawn they have 8090hp
4. KILL KILL KILL the little guys.
5.Once she is bodyguard abandon the quest to pick pick back up for your next bodyguard.
6.Enjoy your portals from Vivianne.

Note:If you have completed all 4 chapters in Gorgrond this will not work. You must be able to pick up the quest.
Takes about 20 minutes per bodyguard.
If they stop spawning just abandon the quest and go back down and pick it back up.

Hey ppl ..i have a problem ,i dont know mabe i am not doing something.. I ask Vivianne to follow me but when i go out of garrison she is gone.At some point she stop following me..Barracks are lvl 2 and garrison 3..i dont understand what is going wrong.

Don't know when it was changed exactly. Fireball no longer stacks and her mechanics have changed. After she casts Blizzard, she stands there. When Blizzard expires she begins to cast Fireball. Rinse and repeat. Her DPS is now much lower than it used to be.

As BfA is live now, can we level up the bodyguards from WoD with level 120 character ? I have tried and normal mobs and they do not give me exp for the bodyguard. Any suggestions ?

Reputation Grinding
The best comment ive seen for this was by sanesyco; about using the part of the Gorgrond quest chain 艾猶 to grind rep. There is a constant spawn of Iyun Pustules that you can grind rep to MAX in under 20min.

For those who maybe completed the quest chain already, I wanted to mention two spots I used to grind.

To Check:

The main, active grind spot I'd use was in 撒塔斯城 || There are lots of spots with clusters of enemies. I'd pick my favorite 2-3 spots and just make rounds. The respawn is quick enough that there isn't any downtime. This place is great for Alliance too if you wanted to grind 撒塔斯守軍 rep.
- The Fel Sparks around are in clusters of 3 and plentiful.
- Shattrath City Center and the enemies across the bridge south is another nice spot.
- There are rares all around the zone that you can loot daily. They give normal kill rep for your follower, but extra Sha'tari rep.
- Sha'tari Market District (Base of elevator) | This spot is nice because there are waves of spawns every ~5 seconds, no loot though.

*Took about 3 hours of grinding on my Alliance warrior to reach MAX follower rep. Made a fair amount of gold too from normal drops as well as vendoring rare mob drops.

The only other place I thought i'd mention that is ok for active grinding, but allows for a passive grind is in 影月谷, Gloomshade Grove.
Lots of clusters of the little guys there, respawn time is about 50 seconds.
The passive grind i've done is in the cave and takes about 8 hours to MAX rep. I stand at about between two of the poison bulbs (out of range of their gas), and behind the rare spawn there. Basically I take off all my armor to avoid repair costs, stand at aforementioned spot on top of a spawn of 8 of them and let them auto-attack me. When they land a hit, my follower will engage and wipe them out - gaining rep.
The only challenge is to not go AFK for too long and keep an eye on your follower's health.
(Again, not the best spot, but worth mentioning if you wanted to say watch the extended cut of all the Lord of the Rings movies.) XD

It's good to know that Vivianne has seen better days because I decided to use her for the achievement, and I've only seen her kill a few critters. Oh, and most of them were battle pets (as if it's not annoying when players do that.) She's also prevented me from mounting up a few times so, that's awesome. I can't say she's the worst, though since I already prefer her over Tormmok.
