Jogu the Drunk sits by a pool just behind the main market stalls at The Halfhill Market cooking hub in Valley of the Four Winds. He will give various quests including dailies. He will occasionally take a drink from his mug.

He has a heart reputation bar like some other NPCs relating to some of the quests (not available yet)

He offers advice on crop prices (prehaps related to farming or quests) for 10 gold. His dialogue;

Hey, do I know you?

Hey Jogu, what's the word on tomorrow's crops?

Gives option to pay the 10 gold.

Sample response;

Oooh… ooooh! My shenses are tingling! I see… huge Green Cabbages in your future.

Well, he is drunk...

Purpose of the advice and market have yet to be confirmed.

Each of the ten farmers will give you something for your farm. This is either cosmetical or functional.

Upon reaching ''Best Friend'' (Exalted) standing with these farmers, they will each give their own ''buff'' to your farm:

奇奇: Sheep npcs (農場綿羊)
艾拉: Cat npc (月神)
農夫老豐: Yak npc (Shaggy)
小魚‧跌蘆: Pig npcs (小豬)
吉娜‧泥爪: Mailbox
好漢‧泥爪: Mushan beast npc (Miss Fifi)
『酒鬼』酒骨: Free advice (No longer asking gold for tips)
老丘爪: Chicken npcs (丘爪的雞)
阿秀: Orange tree
蒂娜‧泥爪: New furnishing in the house

Each of these farmers will also send you a mail containing fun or useful items. For example, Sho will send you the 紅蟋蟀 and Old Hillpaw sends you a 稻草帽.

Jogu the Drunk will charge you 25 gold for tips on tomorrow's crops, unless you are Honored with him or higher (Honored = 1g, Revered = 10s, Exalted = nothing). You can give him 可愛的蘋果 as a gift from , which will increase your reputation with him.

Well, I guess Jogu hasn't had his coffee yet. At approximately 06:45 server time, and then again at 07:15, he says, "Ughhh... my head is hazy... try again later." I understand the effect a hangover has on one's ESP and spidey senses, but perhaps a little rep is in order for the gold dump. Oh well, will check again after 08:00 and give an update.

07:30 and 08:00 are a no-go...

And he's still hungover at 08:30 and 09:00. Can't be mad at him, I'm hungover too. Yay, Brewfest!

Sigh, well nothing still at 11:15. Ol' Jogu isn't getting any more gold from me today. Just gonna plant the mats I need. Will try again tomorrow.

07:45 the next day, he gave me a prediction, so it will just take some time to confirm if the time always varies, or if it is usually available after daily reset and there are just some days he is too hungover to make predictions at all.

UPDATE 10/22/12**** Well, he has only failed to give me a prediction one time since the original posts, so it seems there is a low chance that from time to time he will not give a prediction at all for a whole day. Otherwise, he seems to have next day's prediction ready after daily reset. Please reply if you have experienced otherwise.

Also worth noting, when he predicts "jade melons" as the crop to harvest for the next day, he means jade squash. There are jade squash seeds and striped melon seeds, so this was cause for confusion. But squash produces the harvest bonus, not melons.

Listening to his crop advice yields extra loot if you plant what he recommends. For normal produce, each plant yields 7 instead of 5.

Note: His crop advice for "tomorrow" is what you should plant today to get the bonus.

Edit: To clarify, his tomorrow's crop advice is what you should harvest during the next daily reset. Even though plant's grow at midnight, this bonus doesn't take effect until the dailies reset at 4am. This means that if you plant during the day, listening to his advice, then harvest that night, you will NOT get the bonus.

This also means that you can use the bonus effect TWICE if you plant the day before, harvest, then plant the same plants again, and harvest after midnight but before 4am. Helpful if you want a lot of one type of produce.

10 Tiller NPCs have Friendship bars, which are similar to reputation but don't have normal Normal/Friendly distinctions. Instead, there are six segments of 8400 friendship each, with the best level obtainable at 42000 friendship. While gaining friendship, you'll also gain some Tillers reputation.
You can check up on your friendship status at the Tillers Shrine in Sunsong Ranch.
Friendship levels:
Stranger: 0-8400
Acquaintance: 8400-16800
Buddy: 16800-25200
Friend: 25200-33600
Good Friend: 33600-42000
Best Friend: 42000-42999

How to gain Friendship:

The easiest way is to give each NPC 5 of their favorite food each day. Completing these meal quests will grant 1,800 friendship.
A harder way to gain reputation is to give friends specific gifts. These are found in piles of to the north of Halfhill which unfortunately cannot be tracked on the minimap. Each friend will grant 540 friendship per gift. In addition, there's one gift each NPC really wants, and turning that item into the specific NPC will grant 900 friendship instead.
Some quests give friendship--either quests that signal you've reached a new friendship level or select dailies.

Note: I'm posting this because, in wanting to find out more about Jogu as a character, I naturally assumed I could find it all through comments posted about him on Wowhead or through reading up on him at Wowpedia. No dice. Turns out, no one had already done the work, so all I could find was bare bones and incomplete lists of quotes he says. In the end, I had to go digging through quest lines and record interactions/various responses during quest/daily turn-ins all the way up to Best Friend.

Maybe the following will save someone else some time and effort if they end up being at all curious about this NPC like I was. (Or maybe this'll just get downvoted as extraneous information, but hey.)

Ultimately, I can only conclude that Jogu makes for a pretty depressing character.

Watertaster Kurashel says,

Our brother over there drowns his sorrows in apathy and wine, instead of work and toil.

Jogu is from a different tribe than us. He came far from the north, and will not speak much of what led him here.

(credit to spoonzilla and Hvatum)

When accepting the quest, A Gift for Jogu, Andi says,

Sometimes I feel sad for Jogu. He's the only jinyu around, and I don't think he has any friends. Other than his smelly bottle, of course.

During the course of gaining friendship with him, Jogu says several morose statements about himself, too.

You are a good friend, <name>. Maybe my only friend.

You know, I've decided I like having you as a friend. Makes me think that maybe I can have other friends, too.

He also implies he lost his whole family. When the daily, Dish for Jogu, is turned in, he'll often remark

My family used to make this... They're gone now, but I shtill love thish dish.

My personal speculation is that he may have lost his family to a pretty big catastrophe, perhaps during the on-going war between the jinyu and the hozen. It might even have been more recently, in a skirmish such as the one indicated by the quest Family Heirlooms, where players are sent to retrieve tokens from the dead bodies of the jinyu at Moonwater Retreat. (edit) Turns out Kurashel claims he comes "from the far north" so its likely he's a survivor of the Inkgill Mere casualties. :( (/edit)

After his losses, he may have ran off to drown himself in booze under the excuse that drinking assists him in his forecasts.

Furthermore, jinyu are forbidden to interact outside their own caste, so as a waterspeaker, a caste elevated above the rest, he must have so little solace or companionship--if he has any at all--from his own people. I suspect that those few jinyu who wander around Halfhill on occasion or who visit him directly at his pond, may not actually be showing up with any intention of comforting him--but rather to make use of his particular "gift" to forecast weather for successful crop harvests.

Worse, the parade of people who daily come to him to ply him with gifts and booze just to get his forecasts certainly make an impression on me that he's not wanted by anyone for anything else but to serve as a talking weathervane, rather than being seen as a person worth spending time with.

After reaching Best Friend reputation and Exalted reputation with Tillers, as well as discovering I can "hire" any of the NPCs at Best Friend to come stay at my farm, I decided to give him permanent residence. ...His exuberance at the invitation is kind of heartbreaking

Really? That whole pond, just for me? I'll be right there!

to the point that I just kind of want to give the guy a hug every time I see him.

評論來自 Rylaar

After a while 『酒鬼』酒骨 will give you an option for him to move his location to the pond on your personal farm. This didn't happen to me until after I reached Best Friend status with him and Exalted with 耕者工會.

BLIZZARD'S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM ON DEALING WITH THE ADDICTED

Blizzard is very upfront with the status of this NPC. He is a drunk, a NPC with an addiction.
Is he a nice person? Sure, he helps me get a 40% increase in my crops. Is he a funny person? Absolutely, “you should have seen the look on your face”.

And does he deserve my empathy? Well, (/proud) I’m his only friend and he's even lost his family (. . . Or perhaps he's driven his family and friends away by converting everything they had of value into booze.)

Is he intelligent? – Well, he’s gotten me to give him 25g twice, and smaller amounts several times. As well as smaller amounts on alts to determine if the weather is the same for everyone (/bonk self). And he’s obviously gotten me to give him alcohol - an inexpensive vendor drink, 5 pricier ones, and 10 (100 farm mats at 4g each = 400g) I made for him (that are known to cause massive headaches, but I gave them to him anyway). And now he just wants a taste of 20 mad breakfast brew . . . which will normally satisfy 20 raids. <Oh yeah, I’m thinking he just may be hitting me up for that brewery next.>

My advice - one would be wise NOT to fuel an alcoholic’s addiction. Stick with giving Jogu easily digested food – 炒胡蘿蔔 and 可愛的蘋果 – and you too will become best friends soon enough. (BTW, he has a lot of friends, he just can’t remember them. And the cost of predictions at even Buddy level is just 10s.)

/Welcome to Blizzard’s educational program on dealing with the addicted.

For what it's worth, when you receive the crop advise, you must harvest those crops the next day to receive the bonus. If you wait 2+ days, there is no bonus. This should be obvious, since the advise is a prediction for tomorrow, but still worth noting, since it is not just a buff cast on the crops you plant today.

You can buy 可愛的蘋果 from 織霧者小霞 for 時光扭曲徽章 x 50 each during a Mists of Pandaria Timewalking dungeon event.
/way #554 43.0 55.4 Mistweaver Xia

You can transfer Warband currency 時光扭曲徽章 to your toon that has the most rep with 『酒鬼』酒骨, buy 可愛的蘋果, then turn them in for 900 rep each.
/way #376 53.6 52.6 Jogu the Drunk in Halfhill

This will help you to earn enough rep to buy 風暴烈酒酒桶 from 吉娜‧泥爪. Tip: The more rep you have with Gina Mudclaw, the less gold she will charge you for the decor item. At Friend rank (4/6) she only charged me 800 gold. Gina would have charged less gold than that if I had "Best Friend" rank with Gina.

REMINDER: You only need to reach "Good Friend" rank with Jogu the Drunk in order to buy the decor item. You don't need to reach "Best Friend" if buying the decor item is your only goal!

If you're doing this while the Darkmoon Faire is active, don't forget to grab the carousel or rollercoaster buff 咿哈！ before you turn in the item so you get more reputation out of it. My non-human toon with the Whee! buff received 990 reputation points instead of 900.

評論來自 jjdots

To add to some of the other comments, providing some info on pre-reqs and total costs:

If you've never done it before, you have to do most of the 第一次種植就上手第一課:種子 quest series to unlock these rep hand-in quests, up through 第一次種植就上手第五課:半丘市集. It only take 2 minutes. Luckily you do NOT have to complete the last one, Gina's Vote, because that one takes a day to complete.

吉娜‧泥爪 sells the decor, but it's 『酒鬼』酒骨 whose rep you need to level to unlock this Stormstout Brew Keg, so make sure you hand the 可愛的蘋果 in to Jogu.

If you're starting out with 0 rep and have no other rep boosts, it takes 38x 可愛的蘋果 to go from Stranger to Good Friend and unlock the keg, at which point you can buy it for 285G. As others have said, it probably gets cheaper if you push the rep higher, but it didn't seem worth it to me.

38x 可愛的蘋果 will cost you 1900x 時光扭曲徽章, which honestly isn't too bad compared to some other legacy reps that require 4000-7000 時光扭曲徽章 worth of commendations to unlock various decor. Then again considering the Tillers have decor spread across four factions, it actually costs more 時光扭曲徽章 to get all of it. But at least with the Tillers you can only do the ones you want. It will cost the same 1900x 時光扭曲徽章 each for any of the other Tillers you want to level up to Good Friend and unlock their decor, and 7600x total to do all four.
