Attempting to get 4 bases is a much more viable strategy for winning than going for the flag, for premades or for pugs. Get your team to send almost half to the tower on your far right, almost half to the tower on the near left, and one or two to the tower on the near right. After capturing the far right and near left, people at both areas should push to try to get the far left ASAP. After locking in four towers, trap the enemy in their spawn area and cap flags (wait to get flags until you have 4 bases), and make sure to re-cap any lost towers while they're still neutral, before the enemy gains control, so they never have the opportunity to spawn there.

The reason to go in this particular order is that for your near right and far left tower, the respawn area is not considered inside the capture area, making these towers easier to capture from an enemy, even if that is the only base they respawn at.

If you're going to get 4 bases, doing so at the start of the game, when the enemy is more than likely sending more than they should to the flag and their bases are weak because nobody's respawning at them yet, is the best time.

Only go for the flag if you have 4 bases, or need it for an achievement. This particular strategy of ignoring the flag and trying to 4-cap also works for several other EotS achievements.

I've had 9/10 for a month. I've won 3 times with a 4 cap since then. Here is a screen shot of one such win:

Yet the achievement doesn't pop. Everyone report this as a bug and save me from having to direct pugs to 4 cap again!

It appears that this achievement can be done only during random Battleground, not rated battleground.

Game Master Thrakdrar, at your service. I heard that there's been a situation where you won Eye of the Storm with all bases capped, so I checked into the situation for you.

Certain Eye of the Storm matches (noticeably rated ones) not providing achievement progress is one of the issues that we've been noticing coming up, though we don't have enough reports on what's going on here. (Perhaps the true enemies of Azeroth are the bugs we find along the way?) While this is something that we're checking on, we don't have enough information to react to this apart from getting reports so we can see what needs to be done.

The best way to get this looked into is to click Help while in-game to open up the Customer Support window, click Submit Bug, then enter the bug details and submit it. The more in-game reports our developers see, the quicker they'll be able to find and squash that bug! In addition, this will allow the developers to see the details of what you did and stuff from their side. That will give them special insight as to what happened.

On my end, I've also submitted a bug report about this to the developers. As I said, more reports help them out with this, and we can both do our part! I understand that a situation like this can be very inconvenient, which is why it's imperative that we get it looked into.

This appears to not work if you are standing on a base your own faction controls at the end of the game. I had two 4-cap wins today, and only one of them counted--when I was dead in the graveyard when the game ended.

Standing in a base at the end of the game seems to be the common factor with all these screenshots people are posting.

Edit: I capped the flag that won the game for us with a 4 cap, and it did count toward the achievement for me. The other people in my party, however, did not get credit. They were fighting for the Mage Tower, which was the final base Alliance needed, while I capped the flag at Draenei Ruins.

So I really don't know a consistent way to get credit for an already difficult accomplishment.

It's now year 2022 and this achievment is still bugged. I've tried pretty much everything to get credit for the achievement without success. Have tried standing on a base, not stand on a base, be dead, personally capping the last flag, nothing gives credit. Have not tried Rated Battlegrounds but just going to assume it's bugged in those too.
Have been stuck on 7/10 for so long now and reported the bugg numerous times without Blizzard doing anything.

Finally got this achievement today after 96 Eye of the Storm wins.
Since Blizzard is not going to fix it, my advice is to just play the game as normal till you reach the 100 wins. You'll probably get this achievement along the way. What triggers a credit for this achievement stays a mistery up today, but as far as my observation went, I got 1 credit on every 10th row. So between 0-10, 10-20, 20-30 and so on... It might be pure coincidence, but the pattern was the same all the way to 100 wins.

For those who are trying for this achievement I have only one suggestion.... just que for Specific non-ranked Eye of Storm and turn your brain off.... this achievement is bugged.... I haven't gotten credit on holding all 4 bases.... some while holding 3, and just confirmed got one credit while while holding only 2 bases....

Could be worse... could be fully bugged with no way to get credit #itssomething

TLDR. Que and play... and you randomly get credit toward achievement here and there with no real sense of knowing WTF has this achievement so bugged.

first time ever commenting on a wowhead post i think. achieved Nov 25th 2025. This achievement is mega busted. Sometimes I got prog with only 2 bases capped, sometimes 3, rarely ever 4. Countless times of winning while holding 4 and never given a +1 on prog. The best way to go about this achievement is just play the map, and hope you get prog on it. I'm free at last!
