Over the years, members of the Horde looking to test their worth have braved the Echo Isles to confront Zalazane, and many of them even returned seemingly victorious with his severed head. These victories, however, proved to be nothing more than illusions created by the twisted witch doctor's dark magic. Days after these trophies were taken to Sen'jin Village, they reverted to their true forms: painted rocks and coconuts adorned with wooden tusks, or even the heads of Zalazane's enslaved trolls.

Didn't see it posted here, so... Here's the Alliance side of this. Both Horde and Alliance gets to take back their cities!
Or, atleast... Gnomes get the surface of their city back. /Sigh

The Trolls don't need the echo isles, they have a home already...it's called the forums.

So what will happen, by that question I mean, will this be like the opening of Ahn Qiraj?, will it be the first group who does it gets the achievement?, or will this be something that is there for everyone but only for a limited time?...I just want a decent chance to be able to get this. This sounds like it will be legendary and I would love to be a part of it. =)

This quest leading to this achievement has almost some EXACT features like Battle for The Undercity.
But anyone with the certain quest before the quest "Zalazane's Fall" can join the fun at any time.
------ CONTAINS SPOILERS------------TURN AWAY IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS----

The final quest rewards this achievement,and a cape (Any level can use it!) that has the Darkspear tribe symbol on the back.
The final quest is really awesome,I would say the details but this a absolute MUST for any worldofwarcraft player,horde or alliance!

I think you'll probably keep this after faction changing. After all, if you participated in Zalazane's fall you participated in Zalazane's fall. Whether you're a troll or a night elf now, a month after the fact, is another matter. But that's just my best guess.

It seems a bit buggy/bugged. On Proudmoore(US), it's been stuck at "0 minutes untill Echo Isles takeback begins!" for atleast 10 minutes now.

Edit: I've had word that the Alliance quest is also bugged. Hopefully it's only our server.

Completing the following chain of quests results in this achievement (and an awesome Troll transformation item with a not so awesome cooldown):

Da Perfect Spies: Capture 5 Sen'jin Frogs and attune them to Vanira's sight at her Sentry Totem.
Frogs Away: While riding a bat, use the Sack o' Frogs to place 12 attuned frogs on the markers in the Echo Isles.
Lady Of Da Tigers: While imbued with the Spirit of the Tiger, lure the Tiger Matriarch out of hiding and use your new abilities to best it in combat.
Dance Of De Spirits: Talk to Witch Doctor Hez'tok near the circle of ritual dancers outside Sen'jin Village when you're ready to consult the omens.
Trollin' For Volunteers: Use Vol'jin's War Drums to recruit 5 Troll Citizens in Razor Hill.
Preparin' For Battle: Speak to Handler Marnlek for a flight to the staging area. Meet Vol'jin on the island east of the war camp.
Zalazane's Fall: Help Vol'jin take back the Echo Isles and kill Zalazane.

This event was incredibly fun,fighting aside Vol'Jin once again was also fun,but that's not why I like this event.This event explains how the Trolls got druids as a class come cataclysm + Zalazane finally got his butt handed to him by like 9000 level 80's per server within an hour :D

Do this quest as long as you can. In cata you will not be able to get that achievement anymore.

SPOILER ALERT --------- SPOILER ALERT

In the end of the quest line, we arise from the rubble with this achievement, an appearance changing item and a neat back.

One warning though, if you want to fully appreciate the quest line, I suggest doing it when your server population is at its lowest (if you play in a high populated server). Maybe late at night or early in the morning. Otherwise you won't be able to fully accompany every aspect of this awesome event.

As has been previously stated, this quest is similar to the wrathgate event that (for the horde at least) allows you to join the battle for the undercity at any point in the events progression. HOWEVER- Vol'jin is the questgiver for the final quest, and he only gives the quest at the staging area- so if you don't get the prequests done in time to actually start the event with the timer, you might as well sit tight for 10 minutes or else you'll have to do it all over again because you won't get the final quest, nor the achievement completed.

For people with multiple alts: Once you accept the initial quest from Vol'jin you can just go directly to the southern Island at coords 60, 90 and just wait for the event to play out. This will free up some time for you to browse around the web or go do some quick IRL things while you complete the quest on alts.

I'm asking because I don't know the answer, but does this mean that the trolls will have their own capital city as well or is it just a starting area, like Valley of Trials. I mean, gnomes and trolls are the ONLY races without capitals, bar worgen and goblins since theirs will be destroyed (or something). Also gnomes get a whole instance, I think

i went on my warlock 61 and he didnt get the quest after getting the trollformer

This achievement turns into Operation: Gnomeregan if you do a Faction Change. I assume it's vice verca if you go from Alliance to Horde.

These things are boring to me. Anyone else feel like its just a waste of time? It's not fun if there's 0 chance of failure all you do is just stand there clicking buttons mindlessly for a few minutes and get an achievement.

He gets dragged into hell by Voo Doo spirits
Zalazane gets dragged into... something... by Tiki Mask spirits
It would only be better if the masks started chanting

If you have earned this achievment and your chareckter undergoes Faction change, do you keep it as you would a Realm 1st lvl 80 Forsaken, do you lose it completely or does it get converted to the Operation Gnomeregan one?
