Raid leader's cry: Close the holes! CLOSE THE HOLES!

But then again, Hodir has an ability called Starlight, another reference to Muse, so wouldn't be surprising if they refered to Muse here as well

Black Holes are formed when Collapsing Stars die, unleashing an explosion (
10
/
25
). They have a void zone type
effect
and are used to port out to escape the Big Bang (
10
/
25
).
This achievement seems to refer to the closing of Black Holes by kiting the Living Constellations into them - the kiting seems to be easily done by a mobile healer (e.g. tree druid).

We tried to do this achievement today, and either it can easily bug out, or the wording is inaccurate. We went through 3 waves of constellations in total, and on the second round, we closed 3 black holes within 1 second of each other. We then proceeded to kill him (we were only 17 people in the raid, so it took a while). It should be noted that the tracker for this achievement never updated to show 3/3 black holes closed, ever, on any of the tries. Does anyone know if the holes have to be closed at a certain point in the fight, or what may cause the achievement tracker to not function properly?

In case anyone should care, the bug is now fixed, so eventho you wipe, you can go back and get acheives. You can also fill one hole for example and then wait for time is over and do another 3 - Still awarding acheivements.

You have to complete this on your first try. If you close a hole and do not complete it within the 10 seconds the timer will not reset.

JUST A WARNING:
You must NOT be inside a Black Hole when Algalon is killed/does his speech or you WILL NOT get credit for this achievement nor
this
Learned this the past lockout, a friend submitted a ticket and the GM response was "Too bad, do it again."

Just solo'ed this as a Disc Priest in SoO gear. Credit is awarded separately on the two criteria for this achievement. I had previously defeated Algalon in 25-man difficulty, so all I needed to do was solo-kite the 3 constellations into 3 black holes within 10 seconds. I got credit for the achievement immediately and without killing the boss on this attempt. Some observations:
- You can safely reset the encounter by casting a bunch of absorb shields on yourself and then standing in a black hole. His "Ascend to the Heavens" move hits for about 500-600k but I survived it every time except for one with heals/absorbs/etc. You might also want to glyph Inner Sanctum and/or Fade for some extra damage mitigation.
- You want to use your Mindbender/Fade to dodge a stack of Phase Punch. He seems to do this every 15 seconds, starting 15 seconds into the fight.
- I dotted up all of the Living Stars when they came out with SW:P and then nuked them down individually when they drifted closer toward one another. Ideally, I think you want for two clusters of two black holes to form. If all four are spaced out in separate corners, then you probably need to reset it.
- I glyphed Angelic Feather to be able to run quickly from one cluster of two holes to the other.
- It's possible for one black hole to soak multiple constellations (you DON'T want this). I stood on the outside of one cluster of two black holes and waited for the constellations. What worked for me on the first try was *immediately* starting to run across the room toward the other two black holes when I saw the constellations coming. I found on several attempts that if I waited for the constellations to get close/right on top of me, the clump of them would all get sucked into the same black hole...
- Have your levitate ready in case you get smashed up into the air (or you can just dodge it).
Good luck. :)

How to easily do this achivement:
Supermassive
Algalon the Observer 10/25m
Youtube
(
Visual
):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkQCdu5APZM
Assign
3 players
that will do your
Kiting & Taunt'n
of "
Living Constellations
" over
Black Holes
from (
Collapsing stars
)
Only TANK touches boss (
slow dps
).
Have none kiter/Taunter in center.
Assigned people will kill ONLY 3x Stars (Try kill
Collapsing Stars
around the edges,
but so you can still run around it
.).
Taunt-players moves their Target to fixed location
(Raid marks?)
Now the following
players with
(
TAUNT
) - assigned will take
ONE
living Constellation
and kite it close to an Black Hole.
Raid leader calls: "
Close The Holes
"
The
Taunted Constellations gets kited over and closes the black hole
(Make sure the player dont run into it).
If you
closed all 3 within 10 seconds of the first close you should recive achivement
.
You should now completed the achivement - Kill the boss when your done. (
Achive does not require you to kill the boss
)
Defeat Algalon the Observer after closing 3 Black Holes within 10 seconds in 25-player mode.
Achivement have a 2-part Criteria:
First: Close holes)
Second: Kill boss.
#
The Abilities required for this (Achive)
:
Collapsing Star
- (small stars) Algalon summons four of these every 15 seconds after initial pull and summons more throughout the fight.
These are bright balls of light that don't do anything but wander around,
but lose 1% of their maximum health every second
.
When they die, they explode dealing
16,088
to
16,912
Shadow damage
to the entire raid and leaving a Black Hole behind.
Living Constellation
- Aprox every 50 seconds, Algalon will summon three Living Constellations.
These
cast an Arcane Barrage spell
that deals roughly
3,000
to
4,500 Arcane damage
to a random player every few seconds.
They have normal threat tables and can also be damaged, but they
can be killed instantly by being kited into a Black Hole
.
They are also stunnable.
#
Prevents Achivements phase 1:
Once Algalon
reaches 20%
, Collapsing Stars and Living Constellations will despawn and will no longer spawn anymore
.
Any currently open Black Holes will also dissapear. Algalon will continue to cast Quantum Strike, Phase Punch and Cosmic Smash.
NOTE
:
Failed? Just reset by enter black hole (zone) have none in the "real world".

Definitely soloable for any class at level 100, although you will have to finish before you get 5 stacks of
相位拳擊
, because if you fade out the encounter will reset. A way around this is to have a pet tank or if you're a mage like me use
鏡像
, or any other way to keep Algalon from hitting you for a while. You can of course also use this to your advantage by entering a black hole in order to reset a botched attempt.
Anyway the slightly tricky part is kiting 3
活化星宿
s across 3
黑洞
s within 10 seconds. One is easy, two as well, but three can get troublesome if the
崩陷之星
s decide to stay spread out. Since the damage Algalon does is negligible, even for a clothie (just don't stand in
宇宙潰擊
, the fall damage
will
hurt), you can prolong the fight for quite a bit. I found that in doing so I was able to eventually make a cluster of several black holes overlapping each other. When the constellations appeared I made sure to keep the black holes between us. Still took me several tries, obviously I accidentally entered a black hole at some point but all in all no more than 15 minutes. Just make sure to take your time laying out those black holes in a nice tight cluster, wait for the next wave to spawn if you need to, because missing the achievement several tries by 1 or 2 seconds gets boring pretty fast ;)

This is soloable, but the timing of Algalon's relevant abilities leaves very little room for failure or bad luck. I got the achievement about 4-5 seconds before getting hit by the fifth
相位拳擊
. The key is to have two groups of two black holes (four is all you are going to get before getting phased out), and being fast enough to kite the Living Constellations into at least three of them before that last Phase Punch. I also dragged the boss to the side of the room after all four Black Holes were down because it felt like it would be easier to maneuver the Constellations - and I think it was. The two that spawned near me flew right into the Black Holes as I was running into the middle, and from then on it was only a matter of running around the second group of Black Holes fast enough to be able to put it between me and the Constellation.

My observations, getting this achievement on my lvl 100 Marksman Hunter (ilvl 671)
Pet classes: phase punch seems to not matter if it stacks up on the pet tanking for you. I had failed attempts at this achievement (like, black-hole resetting 30 seconds before berserk) where my pet had a stack of over a dozen, and it didn't matter. So, the berserk timer (5 min) seems to be the time limit to executing this achievement now for pet classes.
I scored the achievement as soon as the third Constellation nullified the third black hole, but I accidentally stepped into another black hole as it happened, and the encounter reset. But I still got credit. Maybe it was a glitch, maybe it was counting previous Algalon 25 kills (in spite of the "Kill Algalon
after
..." wording). Probably a glitch. Everything else I've read says that it shouldn't have happened.¯\(°_o)/¯
As posted everywhere else here, stepping into a black hole is a safe reset. You'll take a few K health damage in the phased zone before the reset from the shadow dot, but I think my character does more damage to himself shaving every morning.
My half-@ss strat of building lines of black holes and kiting the constellations around the edges of them was terrible. I had inadvertent resets because I didn't skirt the BH's well enough, and a lot of times the constellations would give up and leave out of boredom. XD. If you have to drag the constellations around the BHs, step carefully.
It took me six attempts, but no deaths in the wipes and no real repair bills, so the only thing this achievement should cost you is patience. Good luck, achievement hunters!

Still doable. Cake with a pet class. Don't overcomplicate it:
Use a pet or minion to eat phase punches
Make a cluster of black holes
Position yourself so the black holes are between you and the Living Constellations
Walk around the edges
Took 4 tries until I stopped derping into black holes due to an antique graphics card.

Easy as boomkin, Just use treant on boss and you basically never get stack from boss. Let treant tank boss and you just kill those stars so they spawn black hole in ground. If you fail at first time doesn't matter you can have 12 black holes in ground and those 3 thingys will spawn like 10 times before berserker.
It's bit harder without pet classes because you basically need to get it allmost on first try. You need to use any speed assisting tools as you don't have luxury to haver many black holes before you get 4 stack from boss.
I recommend killing it first normally and next time you don't need achievement to kill it and you can focus on black holes only.

I have done this on each of the following at level 100: Monk (Brewmaster); Death Knight (Frost); and Paladin (Retribution). Brewmaster Monk is by far the easiest due to the Black Ox Statue tanking Algalon. Frost Death Knight and Paladin were a little trickier due to no pet (Unholy Death Knight wouldn't have been a problem) BUT it still can be done. If you are able to open 3 black holes close together then you have a pretty good chance of getting this. if you have 2 of them nearly on top of each other you're in even better shape. So even if you do not have a pet or statue that can tank Algalon it is not impossible to get this achievement. But be prepared for a few resets unless you get extremely lucky the first time you try this.

I found a way to do this as a rogue fairly easily. With burst of speed you can kite phase punch indefinitely but only if you hug the very outside wall and run in a circle. This seems to slow Algalon down a little keeping him out of melee range of you. After that it's just a matter of time to get a few black holes close together and kite the constellations into them.

Well this is something I figured out now, when I checked for the achievement, wipe after wipe, I saw the tracker counted 3/3 on my blackholes after my last wipe & didn't reset, so encouraged by that, I killed the boss without doing anything on next try, and got the achievement. Just so you know ;)
So basicly.
1. Pull the boss and kill 3 collapsing stars as close as possible and move away from every single one of them right after you kill them.
2. Kite living constellations right on them and close 3 blackholes. You can wipe at this point or you can let boss reset. Because achievement tracker won't reset after you wipe/reset.
3. Pull for a second time, and nuke the cráp out of him.
4. Get the achievement.

To clear up a few issues that people tend to gloss over.
1. "Kill collapsing stars as close as possible to each other" - these stars spawn randomly pretty spread out, and slowly wander around. If you get two let alone three fairly close to each other that is pretty lucky. More likely you'll get two kinda close to each other and the others pretty far out. There is simply not much you can do about it as you only have the time until you get four stacks to hope they get closer.
2. "Kite living constellations over the black holes" - again, this sounds so simple, but it's not. The constellations spawn from the ceiling and head towards you, but it's not good enough for them to simply pass over the black holes. They have to be basically at ground level, otherwise they simply float over the black holes doing nothing. Really really annoying as you have so little time to kite.
3. The living constellations spawn at four stacks, and the fight resets at five stacks. Do the math, that means you have the time between four and five stacks to figure out where the constellations are coming from, get to the other side of black holes, hope they collide with the black hole instead of floating over, then run around to another black hole and repeat. If you do get it, it will be a split second before the fight resets.
4. Kill Algalon the Observer on the toon before attempting this achievement. Many reports of people that it's bugging out if you are trying to do this achieve on your first kill. If you've already killed him, then you will get the toast popup the instance you have three collapses. It's not obvious at all with all the visual stuff going on.
5. It is nearly impossible to do this with most classes, but with a Hunter or Brewmaster you can pretty much ignore the phase mechanics and get it in a couple of tries. Either use a pet on passive or an ox statue to sit on the boss AND the constellations. Yes, if you are reasonably lucky with the constellation spawns you can get them to stick to your pet/statue. Then you wait for several groups of black holes to form. This is not really possible if you are directly fighting Algalon, but because the pet/statue doesn't get phased by stacks the collapsing stars just keep on coming making it less difficult to get several overlapping. When you do get a reasonably compact group of three or four black holes, you sit on the far side from your pet/statue holding the three constellations. At this point, you release your pet/statue and the constellations beeline right at you and hit the black holes. The main difficulties are to not accidentally step on a black hole, and to not accidentally cleave/multishot Algalon.
What I'm trying to say is not to get down because people make it sound like this is so simple. For the majority of classes it really isn't and it comes down to some pretty good luck with rng.

this is how i did it with my hunter: agroed with my pet and put to passive, killed colpsing stars running over the white line next to the wall to avoid massive attacks, so i wouldnt get phased, i had more than three holes opened, when i had some nicely set tried to run arrounfd the holes chased by the constellations being carefull to go back to the wall every massive attack, easier then it seems. Don´t go into the black holes or you´ll get phased, and have to start again

I just did this on my lvl 100 shadow priest after also doing the 10 player version. I used Mindbender and Fade to avoid getting too many stacks of Phase Punch or getting dazed as I tried to kite the constellations through the black holes. I have to say that the one and only thing that mattered for me was getting the collapsing stars close to each other. With the stars close together, I was able to kite the constellations through them without any problems. But if they spawn miles from each other and refuse to get any closer, you basically have no chance of getting to them in time. Having a pet to tank is useful, but it's above all down to RNG and just doing it over and over until the stars are aligned.
