Fairly straight forward. Go up the ramp of the big structure in the water. Be careful of roamers, there's 2-3 of them that go back and forth, so keep an eye out.

The key is on Supervisor Lugwizzle. He roams up and down the ramp and around a bit of the shore of the water. He even passes by Wizzlecrank, so if you're lucky, you can finish this quest fairly quickly.

This quest can be done by the Alliance.

I found him at 55.7 in the ditch to the left of the machine

For all the people who can't find him after finishing the quest, you turn it in at Ratchet.

Foreman Grills pats quickly on the ramps. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=5835

To avoid him, follow him up the ramp without aggro, then stand around the barrels. Lugwizzle comes into the barrel area and you can easily pull him without Grills.
Grills, starting at the top, goes straight to the bottom of the ramp, then back up and into the barrel area, then to the top again.

Understandably the last note was from beta, but for the sake of completion this is quest indeed functional now.

ok, can anyone say cosmos coordinate plz? :D

Thottbot

Just did it today, he spawns at the top (cord.58/8).

Thottbot

Did the escape today and the shredder got to the top of the hill, stopped, then the dude just vanished. Says quest completed, but there's nowhere to turn it in at.

Thottbot

It does tell you where to turn it it. It says to escort to Ratchet.. TO SPUTTERVALVE. That's the goblin's name in Ratchet!

This quest is best with a warlock since they can curse humanoids with Curse of Recklessness that prevents them from running away! <3

Thottbot

i found it at (56.8)

Thottbot

I was going along, doing the quest just fine. When I got disconnected. When I logged back on it said I had failed the quest. Now I can't find the guy anywhere. Is there any way I can get the quest agian. (BTW I'm talking about The escape guest not the ignition)

Thottbot

i dont know where to find Wizzlecrank? any help?

Thottbot

i just finished the quest. i escorted him to the top of the hill and it says the quest is completed but there is no where to turn the quest in?

Thottbot

Wizzle crank is at approximatly 56,8, just north of the tower next to another smocking wreck. If he's not there, someone else has just done escape and he'll be back in two minutes.

Thottbot

as soon as i exepted the quest 3 npcs spawn: supervisor glibby, venture co. drudger and a rare spawn called sludge beast! wtf

Thottbot

This is the quest from hell. I suggest not bothering. It's marked lvl 18, but I had problems with my lvl 21 Shammy. The guys run when they are only about half health and pull about 3 more and contuine on doing this untill you have no mana and eventually die.... I couldn't make it all the way to the top without dieing, and promptly clicked "abandon quest".

Thottbot

You couldn't complete it as a lvl 21 shammy? I done this quest as a level 18 hunter alone and I never even came close to dieing.

Thottbot

Everyone is talking about the escape...
Where do I get ignition?
Not where do I do it - Who gives it to you?

Thottbot

You can pick up this quest at Sludge Fen around 56,8.
Talk to the guy inside the Shredder. (He is just on the outside of the water's edge)
Get the key from the little green superviser on the platform in the middle of the water.
Bring it back to the guy in the Shredder.
Escort him (the Shredder) just up the hill until the machine dies.
Your last stop is in Ratchet to complete this series of quests.

Good luck

The named supervisor (can't remember name, but not elite - level 18) wanders around the derrick, so you can wait for him on the bottom level. Spacing is tighter here than on the outside area, so aggro of multiple mobs is almost completely unavoidable. Mobs run early, so earthbind totem is MANDATORY by shamans.

Thottbot

the next quest is an escort quest where you escort shredder to ratchet. its completely stupid. expect to pretty much fight half the camp with a min of 3 mob on you at any given time. i wont be doing this quest. gl

from there i can get download cordinates?web?

Dealing with the little goblins isn't so bad. Yes they do run away at about 1/2 life left and call other goblins to help them kick the mess out of you. But if you're a warrior you should hit them with a couple hamstrings to slow them down enough to finish them off before they can call for help. Do NOT let even one of them get away from you. shoot them one at a time to have them run towards you (away from the crowd) and then use something to slow them down.

Patience is the key if you're doing this solo... be stealthy... not wreckless... you can't just run in and chop things up... go easy.

Once you have the key... give it to the guy in the shredder... and let him lead you out... only fight whatever enemies approach...and slowly walk out with him... take your time... He breaks down once outside the area anyway...

I did this solo with level 20 Orc Warrior.

This quest can also be done by Alliance players. Just did it with a lvl 18 Paladin. Funny quest actually :)

Allakhazam

AAghh I ALSO DONE THE QUEST WITH TWO OF US THIS IS A ONE MAN QUEST ESCORT THATS HOW HOW I LOST WIZZLECRANK? DO IT ON YOUR OWN ESCORTING YES?

Allakhazam

There is an elite close by so be aware of that. I stealthed in and killed him but aggroed several people around so it may be best to clear a little first.

Allakhazam

the key drops off supervisor lugwizzle who is just up the ramp of the tower in the muck pool of the sludge fern where all the venture co miners and mercenaries are. He is level 18.

Allakhazam

It didnt happen every time but 1 of the 2 times I fought lugwizzle he summoned a mechanical, I think a squirrel who was llv 18. Just a word of caution, also the drop isnt 100%, hence why I killed him twice.

Also, this quest works like other escort quests in that only one person can do it at a time, if some takes the key to him first he will disapear as part of the following quest and you must wait for it to respawn.

This is the same area you find the nuts needed to ix the samophlange.

Topic says it all. I just did this quest with a night elf rogue.

This quest is available to Alliance characters as well as Horde.

Unless by a strange bug or something, this quest does not seem to work for groups. Solo only perhaps? I was in a party prior to accepting this quest, when the NPC spawned, I obtained the quest, however the rest of my party did not, nor was it shareable.

EDIT: There was one other person who was not in our group that also started the quest at the same time I did.

Respawn on the Shredder is about 10 minutes, even in SoM Classic. Does not appear to be dynamically adjusted for player density/whatever. If you miss it, like me, you'll be there for a bit.

If you die during this, the Devs decided that you are hosed and get to run back from Crossroads. It's kind of ridiculous. The goblins run at incredible speeds toward a pack of more goblins, swarming you relentlessly.

Shalaoman

SoD 22 JAN 2024
If the escort is in progress, it took 7min 25 secs after the Shredder blew up, for the quest to respawn.
It took ~70 secs for the pilot to disappear.
