Easy to do this quest at 52lvl-up

Once you place the head-on-a-stick in the ground, all nearby ogres will receive the debuff "Firegut Fear Storm" (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=13488), which is essentially just Fear that doesn't break when attacked.

評論來自 bEwaRe

Extinguish the Firegut 5100 exp, 250 IF Rep
Gor'tesh the Brute Lord 5250 exp, 250 IF Rep
Ogre Head On A Stick = Party 5250 exp, 250 IF Rep
______________________________________________________________
Firegut Ogre yells: Run for hills! Wait! We already in hills!

Priceless :)

The mound of dirt is right in front of the cave on top of Dreadmaul Rock. It's usually being guarded by an Ogre.

If you're a Rogue, you can Sap the Ogre and plant the stick.

評論來自 99668

As of patch 2.3 this quest gave me 7900 exp instead of 5250.

評論來自 96540

can confirm. Easy quest, 7900 xp.

評論來自 94546

Quite possibly the best quest name ever.

評論來自 Thottbot

its at 81,46

評論來自 Thottbot

If you are looking at the entrance to the cave the dirt pile is to the left.

評論來自 Thottbot

Coords are pretty good....but I was just up there, dirt pile is to the RIGHT of the cave as you face it :)

評論來自 Thottbot

Access the mountain from the rope-bridge on the NW side, wind up to the cave near the top. You'll see a stone grave in front of the cave, go past that to near the S edge of the cliff, there is a small dirt pile there. Plant the head, watch and laugh.

評論來自 Thottbot

Confirming 81, 46 as the location - it's near the cave with the grave, close by to the rope bridge as other posters have stated previously.

Pretty obvious once you see the pike with the ogre head on it. 5250 xp (I think) at level 56.

評論來自 Thottbot

confirm of loc.

Easiest way to get up there is to follow the lava from the SW, stick to the right, and when u hit a dead plant "climb" up the wall, kill1 ogre on top of the dirt, and u got it =)

評論來自 Thottbot

It's a little hard to get to the top, but if you start to climb from the west side o the mountain you can find it.

評論來自 Thottbot

From the south/southeast edge of the mountain, you can go up the side of the mountain straight to the mound of dirt. From where the ramp starts, just look around on the south side. The hill doesn't always look climbable, and it may take a few tries, but you can go straight up.

Easily one of the best quest names in the game.

評論來自 Thottbot

It IS easyer if you don't use coordinates this time, you simple go SW and then follow the lava all the way up.. Its very simple

評論來自 Thottbot

It baffles me why an alliance quest at that level would award mail gloves with strength.

Fun quest though.

評論來自 Thottbot

You only follow the lava road until you cant go any further then you walk east and find a slope up

評論來自 Thottbot

Its 80.46!

評論來自 Thottbot

Best. Quest. Ever.

評論來自 Thottbot

go to the norht side of dreadmaul rock and there is a path that leads to a narrow bridge which leads to the top of dreadmaul rock. When u reach the top turn right and there is a ogre on top of the dirt mound kill it and there it is. i did this on my 51 hunter

評論來自 Thottbot

I did it in lvl 50. No problem

評論來自 Thottbot

Took the easy way, using the magma trail. Didn't kill any mob. Sent my pet to distract the only guard and planted the pike. After that, the Ogre started to run and yell. Had to make a mercy kill. Soloed as lvl 53 dwarf hunter.

評論來自 Thottbot

wow its like just bc its a head on a stick people think they should take a pic next to it....lol

評論來自 Thottbot

LOL i killed that mage right there and got an old world card
two of elementals

anyway easy quest just make sure not to pull to many ogres to the top

評論來自 Thottbot

Where did those two draenei get the Umbrella in that picture?

評論來自 Thottbot

Hahaha amazing quest...

I love the AoE fear lmao
"Run for the hills!
WE ARE IN THE HILLS!"

Took a few victory pics next to the head
;)

評論來自 Thottbot

All was right Except I got 7600 xp at lv 54

評論來自 Thottbot

Sometimes a loc is all you need.

And sometimes it's not.

And this is the case where it's not.

THE PILE: 81.0 46.9

THE PATH THAT ACTUALLY REALLY FOR REALZ DOES LEAD TO THE DAMN PILE: 75.1 38.3 (it leads to a bridge -- can't miss it)

評論來自 Thottbot

Cant believe u guys make such a big deal outta this. Just take the path and go there. Those ogres are cheesecake. Ambush + Sinister Strike x5 = Dead

評論來自 Thottbot

The soft soil was on top of the mountain. Pretty easy quest-I only had to kill about four ogres. Plus, Warmonger dropped. w00t!

評論來自 Thottbot

I can't believe no one has picked this up yet... when you put the head down the ogres say run for hills! then an emote comes up saying firegut brutes run for their lives! Which are two altered lines from the song "Run to the hills" by Iron Maiden.

The gloves sell for 86s69c and the ring sells for 65s42c, neither of which are great. Both will disenchant into dream dust, but the gloves also have a chance to yield lesser eternal essence.

One of the funnest quests i've done in awhile. Kudos to Blizz for making me laugh towards the end of my grinding. Oh wait...BC here i come...

評論來自 Allakhazam

This quest is working just fine the co-ordes for the mound are 80.46 (useing titan) for those without co-ordes if u look at your map theres 3 caves on dreadmaul rock the mound is just outside the middle cave .

評論來自 Allakhazam

I found the wooden bridge the easiest way up (but then all the routes would be easy for me as I'm level 58) the soft dirt pile is by a campfire, for a quick adn easy way down, jump off the edge!

評論來自 Allakhazam

quest isn't working. I looked for the dirt mound for a good ten minutes and killed every ogre, searched every inch of dreadmaul rock and not a thing. really annoying.

評論來自 Allakhazam

Did this as my lvl 50 Pally...

Went up the rock on the east side..

Had to kill 2 Ogre brutes and then planted it.

Soo easy :)

評論來自 Allakhazam

I used the bridge at 77,38 to get up to the top of Dreadmaul Rock. The actual dirt pile to plant the head is at 81,47. You'll need to fight a few ogres along the way.

評論來自 Allakhazam

If you don't take shorter ways to the top of the hill, maybe you will enjoy some drops by the Ogres, that you will sell later at the AH! :-))

評論來自 Allakhazam

You have to read down thru the posts a ways to actually get the coordinate of the dirt pil - so I'll repeat it here. Dirt Pile is dome shaped and is at 81,47. Same mountain top as an altar with remains and a cave.

評論來自 Allakhazam

Loc of the bridge to start going up is at 75,38 and the dirt pile is on the very top of the mountain at 81,47.

評論來自 Allakhazam

quest is bugged, planted the head, ogres yelled and ran away, quest didnt recognize the fact i planted head, unable to complete :<

評論來自 Allakhazam

Although he's listed as a regular lv 53, he hits like an elite so keep that in mind when you attack him ;)

評論來自 Allakhazam

At level 55, this got me 5250 XP and an increase in my reputation with Ironforge.

評論來自 Allakhazam

simple quest... not bugged =)

評論來自 Allakhazam

77,51 piece of cake. thx for the tip ran right up the lava. killed 1 mage and ogre. done and done

評論來自 Allakhazam

ez at lvl 55 with a hunter. i got down to 700 health in about 5 seconds so i feigned and let my pet pwn it.

評論來自 Allakhazam

soled with 52feral druid, u can go in magma river, no guards. That Q is funny.

評論來自 Allakhazam

quest is bugged. planeted the head. ogres ran, but no complete. head is stuck in the ground but nothign happendd.

評論來自 Allakhazam

very easy, Cords where right 80,46 or if you dont have cords look at map and its the cave right under where it says dreadmaul rock. Its right infront of the cave you cant miss it.. EZ XP. 56 mage and got 7600 xp..

評論來自 Allakhazam

Soloed it, and just as I planted the head, a 54 Rarespawn appeared near the edge, killed him for a +24 Healing cloak.

評論來自 Allakhazam

Thanks guys... the core is 80, 46 ont hte mountain... good luck guys

評論來自 Allakhazam

You have to fight your way to the top - nothing too difficult I had to face about 5 mages and 2 or 3 brutes.

My advice is to never fight the brutes with your back to the edge of a cliff, I made this mistake and got thrown off, and had to walk back - luckily there were no respawns.

Decent gold reward, especially if you sell the item, I would get the gloves because they vendor for a higher price.

Solo'd as a level 51 Warrior.

評論來自 Allakhazam

Easiest way up? 77,51. Walk all the way up the lava stream. Easy.. :P

評論來自 Allakhazam

Nice little quest duet. Killing wasn't hard at all (currently lvl 56 arcane mage) He was lvl 54 or 55 and not elite. Had one companion character with him.

Looked at different options for going on top and going up the wooden bridge was short and sweet. about four more ogres to get to the mound of earth. Sprinted out and ran up the hill to turn it in.

Ogres are one of my favorite things in the game - they so love thinking they get to kill me! at least they die doing something they love....

評論來自 Allakhazam

Done this as 53 Warr, no troubles.
