Veng is located inside the orange path, wandering by the end of the path. You could even reach him by going in the purple path, and at the end, instead of going down to Inner Maraudon, go down the orange path and you will find him.

To attack him, just use the Amulet of Spirits that you got from "The Nameless Prophet".

I would say in terms of difficulty, Veng would be (and fittingly so, being the 5th and "strongest") the hardest to solo. As a 49 rogue (having solo'ed all the others) I gave up on my 3rd try.

Veng has a hooked net skill that has a disgustingly low cooldown and does ~350 to me as a decently geared leather user, and follows up with a 250 arcane shot and ~170 shoot. He gets off about 2 shots as the net lasts 5 seconds. I'd probably try again in a level, after new skills and probably crafting a couple of bombs to disrupt his shooting. Crippling poison might help.

Just solo'd as a 49 Feral Druid. At least for me, here's what I found hard (mostly because of soloing).

-- As stated above, he starts near the front of the path and starts walking away, so get him quick. I died once moving around, reset, and he was right inside.

-- Hard to find a place to attack him without clearing mobs, and the mobs much harder to solo than the purple side. I went into the instance a few minutes (stealthed) and found a gap.

-- He himself wasn't bad, but his "netting then running off" can easily agro those around if you don't/can't clear a good space.

-- There's a pair of patrolling guys walking around too. Just hope after you pull you don't run into those.

He's rather far down the path. Plenty of elite mobs around the spot I found him. There were two dryads and 2 slimes nearby. Definately bring help for this one. That is if you just want the gem. Otherwise just kill him as you go through.

I soloed the first three Kahns when I was level 45 and have had this quest sitting there and the 3 jewels sitting in the bank at level 53. So I decided to get it done. The 4th Kahn did something weird. When I started fighting the game froze up and then unfroze after about 30 seconds. I thought I was going to wind up dead but surprisingly we were both at about 1/4 life. I quickly healed and finished him off pretty easily.
The 5th Kahn gave me problems. First problem is finding somewhere to fight him where you won't aggro all the plant mobs. He wanders so just wait until there's a decent opening then pull him to the side. My problem happens when he nets you then runs away. I had to keep popping out of animal forms which drains the ol' mana bar. Everytime I'd cast a moonfire, then rej. and reg. then bear form he'd net me and run away and start hitting me with arrows. I lasted a while, used every trick in the book and had to use both a life and mana potion, but ultimately I couldn't do enough long range damage to kill him. When I died his life was at 25%. I'll try again in a couple levels. I want that damn Mark of the Chosen!

I've had two of the gems forever it seems like. When I've gone to Mara to finish the quest, it always tells me I can't attack the veng or any of the khans. How do you get your gems if you can't attack them? I'm assuming its a drop.

You have to use the amulet of spirits to get him to manifest before you can attack.

yes, and you get the amulet of spirits from killing a Nameless Prophet. Once you use the amulet on the spirits, then they turn and fight you.

Snuck back into the orange side on my own after missing him during my Mara run. He's an absolute pain to solo, he has a net with a very short CD and will constantly deadzone you. Unless you're a caster you can barely even attack him. Good thing 99% of people will just slaughter him as a group.

If you want to solo this run into orange entrance quickly run up and if you can avoid aggroing the first mob you can use the amulet on him quickly and once he attacks run away and then come back and kill him. I solo'd him as a 50 hunter pretty easy

I just managed to solo him as a level 52 feral druid, using the amulet on him right at the start of the instance (past the 1st mob) and afterwards kite him to the small bridge at the entrance and get him to have his back towards the edge so he wouldn't run away when casting his net.

If you're trying to find him using the /tar command, he's called "Spirit of Veng" before you use the amulet on him.

Not sure you can grab him anymore before he gets to far in and you aggro any other mobs. I ran in quickly many times and
up stairs over ramp and he's almost 2 second lasher by that time. You have a couple options.
1. Fight a 45 Elite Lasher and him at same time.
2. Have some way to take lasher out of the fight while you kill him.
3. Use invisibility pot and grab him in another hallway past lashers, don't forget this places
a CD on ALL pots for healing and mana for 10 min.
4. Wait for him to pat all the way through and back to you in the front and kill him. I recommend
killing the first lasher while you wait to make this easier. Its about a 60+ min wait.

Fight him with his back to a wall so he can't gap you with his net if your melee!

I was able to solo this guy (along with the other Khans) as a level 49 warrior. The trick is to run in and up the ramp, and hug the left wall. With some luck, you can slip past the first lasher without aggroing. You can then use the amulet on the Khan while he is next to/basically inside the second lasher. He can be pulled without pulling the lasher, but the positioning becomes difficult (he is ranged/will net you, and you need to fight for a good spot in between the two lashers you didn't kill). The Khan is not a normal instance mob - he will de-aggro if you run back to the instance portal.

You can also solo Vyletongue Corruption using this method; there is one vine in between the two lashers that will spawn 3x mobs that can be pulled one by one. Reset instance and repeat to get 8.

Veng hits harder than the others, be prepared if you are solo-ing at a lower level.

He is difficult to solo, due to the constant netting and running away. He also hits fairly hard in melee as well as ranged, so it's a tough fight. But if you can put his back against the wall he will still net but no longer run away. Any wall will work, any spot where the pathway is fairly narrow and there's no mobs close at hand/patrolling. I fought him just before the third lasher.

Had to eat the first net since he could run away a little, his patrol didn't take him close enough to the wall. But I positioned him so moving back put him against the wall, so after the first net he was done running. Just shapeshifted and healed out of the net, had to bash-heal-shift once more but I made it (though barely).

He's soloable at 50 if you enter orange path and run straight to him before he patrols to the back. If you get there right away there is only one enemy that gets in the way and won't aggro if you can cut the corner. I reccomend a speed boost to make it even faster. I ended up soloing the Vylestem Vines quest as well and then I could focus on just the purple/princess sides when finding a group
