There's a couple of easy tips to use while looking for these:

Firstly, you can hear them becoming semi-visible, listen out for the hum, and stop when you hear it, then use tab to target around

Secondly, run along the banks of the water, don't swim -_-

A good thing to remember, is that these things can be got while doing a few other quests,

Also good to know, there's one guarding almost every mine in the swamp-lands, so if you can Find Minerals you've got them!

very easy to find as hunter just run thru shallow swamp water using "Track Hidden" ability. make sure u stay in water bcz u vant see other mobs while tracking hidn mobs. just be aware of other mobs such as crocks. ran into alot of the in the north-eastern part of the swamp area.

I found the vast majority of mine with the elemental track on. Secondly, I found more in the Sundown Marsh area than anywhere else.

pretty annoying little ..... always manage to pop up when-ever I am fighting another "beast" :P pay attention when ur close to the waters..

These things are in the ponds throughout the Wetlands. But they are like rogues. They are invisible unless you get close. So wander around the ponds and you'll hear the "I'm reappearing" sound.

This quest is a bit misleading in where to *actually* find the fen creepers. It says the waterways, which makes you (well, it did me) think the long stretches of water pathways.

Nope! Check the little ponds scattered throughout the marshes. I spent at least an hour roaming through the the wetlands waterways before I realized that they only spawned in the ponds most of the time.

Also, since they are stealthed, you'll have to kinda lurk around the ponds slowly and they'll usually appear right around you. If you try to just run by the ponds, chances are that you aren't going to be able to find them since you need to be near them to trip their stealth mode.

try this - create a macro with the following command: /target fen creeper

then, map it to a key

just walk around the waterways & ponds while spamming your new macro until you acquire a fen creeper as a target.

sometimes, especially at ponds, you have to stand at the edge and spam a handful of times before one pops.

also, sometimes they'll "disappear" even after you've targeted it successfully. just reposition, and keep spamming - you'll reacquire soon enuf.

of course, this method works for any creep, npc or player in any region...

These things are annoying, you see 2, then they disappear on you, and they're not everywhere. You really need to look for them especially if they don't attack you cuz of your level, have fun!

29,23 is where i found a few of em. They seem to be in the water more than anywhere else. I dunno if the water is the only place you'll find or not.

Just run along the creeks to find them. They do not aggro yet once you see them...

Fen Creepers are invisible in the game world until you get near enough for them to attack you. They are best found wandering in the water. The locations listed are acurate, but I found them best when I'd run to where I thought they should be according to the map, and wait a second or two. They'll appear and start attacking you.

So pick up Apprentice's Duties (collect 6x Giant Croc Skins) and wander around the river shores looking for Giant Crocs and Fen Creepers.

Best way I've found is to start mining a vein. Instant pop and attack.

Here's my strategy:

Create targeting macro and put it on hotbar
Run from pool to pool, making sure to swim across every one, spamming it
The mobs jump from the water, eager to kill you only for them to fall right into your trap
THE FUN PART: Kill them.
Repeat

SoD these guys are in high demand as it's a lvl 26 quest so the gold is good.
Unfortunately the repop is real low. From a few to SEVERAL Minutes. Hard to wander into a group to share tags as it's very spread out across the map.

I would point out that questie doesn't show the extent of their spawns. They can spawn in the water north of where questie says their range ends.
