LOL... after all that, I found one recetly in Arathi, in the caves of the wetherbark trolls.

I am now 40th level, so the weapon is useless to me. I put this thing up for Action @ 30G 'buy out' just to see. that's prolly too high, but you never know till you try. Weapons on my server seem to be a bit out of whack compared to the what is listed as the average on these sites. The Avgerage price listing for this seems to be 16g.

I looked on other sites and EVEYONE Raves about the weapon. Seems to me a good weapon to have for a non warrior type... But the WW Axe is hands down a better weapon for Warriors... anyway, I'll get back to you on may sale.

It is a tanking sword. You're basing its usefulness on its damage. Being an Archaic DEFENDER, its made to strengthen your defense. The 100 armor is an awesome stat for the sword, but the really nice one is the +10 Defense.

If you notice, your defenses only go up as you level. You might also notice that people of a higher level hit harder against you. It is because their defense is higher than yours and you will do less damage to people with higher defense. If you fight someone or something your own level, they will do less damage to you when you are equipped with this sword. So yes, it might be "useless" at level 40+ if you are intending to do damage, such as in a battleground. But if you are tanking, and needing to absorb more damage, then this sword will do better than all others.

Combine this with the fact that it is such a hard find (you can't just kill someone repeatedly and get it in a couple tries) and you can understand why it sells for so much at the AH.

If you are ever the main tank, this sword would be worth every penny.

I love this sword, I waited untilt he price dropped to 16gold and i bought it other day :D (on my server ive never seen it under 30g). I'm lvl 33 now and do about 200 dmg on every normal hit, and crit for about 400-600 its crazy.

Actually this is a pvp sword in my opinion. Anyone trying to tank in an instance with a 2H blade is pretty daft, because if they do their job, and all nearby mobs currently fighting stick to you like glue, you have a tendency to die on the spot if you don't use a shield.

The +10 defense however, gives you a nice edge against the others in pvp combat, and the 100 extra armor reduces dmg taken with like 1% or something (dependant on what you have from before, i should think) plus this thing amasses rage like hell.

This dropped off a Great Planes Creeper in Arathi Highlands... almost had to roll for it, but my friend was just far enough away that he didn't get to :D

Great Plains Creeper isn't on the list of drops... so I guess they don't drop it very often. This was my first blue non-BoP drop.

Got it off a LAshtail raptor near Grom'gol. Sold it for 25g. I was gonna use it as Im a 34 pally. But as stated above, Sword of Omen is soon in my grasp! Gold is better than a decent sword. Especially at lower levels when your gear gets outdated after 4 levels

Was just scanning through AH when I saw this sword for only 10s! Whoever put it on must've been a frickon idiot... So anyway, I put it on AH for 25g starting and 40g buyout. After about an hour BAM! At the bottom of my screen it said that the sale was pending, and I got 40g for my lvl 18 pally! YAY! :)

got this sword while farming adolescent whelps in swamp of sorrows after 10 minutes. Its not in the list of monsters that drop it so just throwing it out there.

It could be a mere coincidence but mine also dropped after killing Adolescent Whelps in Swamp of Sorrows for about 20 minutes. I'm hoping the sword will sell for 40-55g based on Outlands gold and the twink market.

It may not be a good idea for tanking (Definitely use a shield), but for a tank-specced Paladin, it offers a great alternative so you can temporarily go into a higher DPS mode without sacrificing TOO much since it comes with an armor rating and a huge defense boost. Just from a prot spec and this, you can get a huge defense boost and respectable dps at the same time. Then when the mobs pile up, just switch your one hander and shield back in and swap out your dps seals for seal of light, and your blessing of might for blessing of sanctuary or some such.

I was given this as a level 31 Birthday gift from a Guildie yesterday. I had no lvl xp in two handed swords, so of course I took it just out side Stormwind to kill something and begin the leveling process my first hit with this sword was 173 with only 2/150 skill points LOL and it just got better of course the mobs were lvl 6 at best but it was fun any way watching the 1 hit kills. I have my two-handed sword skills up to lvl 50 and will be going to Raven Hill Cemetery to fight Morben Fel and the Embalmers wife. If all goes well then to Mor’ Laden and Stitches with the help of my 40 mage friend who really wanted to see me kill something with this awesome sword he gave me.

Bought it in AH for 10G, and it totally rocks. 2*350 cleave-crit for a lvl34 tank, I love it.

BTW, +100 armor and +10 defense allow decent tanking with this thing - I got all the aggro I could in RFK, and no one was even close to taking me down.

Got this with my main, slapped a fiery on it and now my warrior - just dinged 31 and is now destroying mobs. The +10 Defense is the equivelent of an extra 5 talents points at level 30ish for a warrior. The DPS is nice too, my Hunter is Dual wielding Dawn's Edge's that are only another 5 DPS without the attack power adjustments... Awesome sword for a level 31. :P
