The drop rates on this are abysmal. It took me about 30 minutes of galloping all over Desolace to get 2 of them to finally make my Gadgetzhan transporter.

That being said, it's unlikely you'll see anyone else around the area, save some low-level questing, so you'll be able to run around and pick them off.

The map above really helps. Fly into Nijel's, hit the 1 directly to your East and then head sound and just do big loops around the Kodo Graveyard.

I used to vendor these, until I decided to put a load of stuff on the Auction House - stuff I'd never auctioned before, just out of curiosity. I sold a stack of 10 Elemental Air for 4G 50S, and other sellers were charging TWICE that.

The arathi highlands ones drop them loads, did 30 mins of farming for XP and got 6

8.2.X I was in need for Elemental Air for a vanilla tailoringrecipe.

Changed Silithus to how it was before the sword hit (talk to the npc in the NE corner (chat bubble icon on map)).

Farmed Dust Stormers for about 15mins = 2x cleaning up all the said mobs I could find.
(*Note that the NW corner itself is filled with earth elementals. The needed Dust Stormers spawn on the mountainsides to the east and south of this area.

- 5 Elemental Air
- 4 Essence of Air
- 9 Breath of Wind
- 61 Inert Elemental Piece
- 1 Green BoE item

Edit: I see it has Classic on top. Just to verify; this was not done on classic wow; but on 8.2.X retail version Battle For Azeroth!

Season of Discovery;

As of 05/09/2025 these have been dropping from the elementals in Silithus MUCH more frequently, I was getting x2 of them per drop much more frequently than ever before.

I believe Blizzard implemented something that I call The Great Doubling, where a lot of expensive and sought after materials are now dropping much more frequently and from things that normally wouldn't drop them. No doubt an effort by Blizzard to reduce the cost of elixirs and flasks since so many get used every week just for SE, it was driving people broke who had to supply their own.
