This is part of Blizzard's attempt at remaking old content and also at making levelling much easier so that endgame content can be achieved faster. 12 spelldamage on an item that requires level 23 is a huge boost to levelling.

2.3 also made these pants better'n the Leech Pants for most clothies, when before they were nowhere near as good. I suspect the Leech Pants weren't changed so shadow priests could still get some benefit from Spirit Tap (and the Leeches have a LOT of spirit compared to this).

This is Nice for a mage, I would rather go for this than leech pants, but I haven't ever seen this drop Before the last patch, is it new?

It's been remade - it used to be green with some spirit and stamina I think. So, you may have missed it before.

These are great for holy priests as well, especially considering you want as many healing boosts from your items as you can get. I can't wait to run my priest through BFD to get these now that I know about them.

blizz revamped a ton of the lowbie gear, most of the gear has spell dmg on it now, even RFC drops XD
