Ahh, well I might as well put in my opinion since I just recieved this sword. It's pretty damn good and I love the proc. Now, Dal Rends set would be better. I say set because I suppose if you have a different OH, then the Zeal and whatever that is might be better. The crit and mainly the 50 attack power that you get from the set is better than the proc of Sword of Zeal. And yes, Zeal and Dal Rend do the same dps and damage, especially now since all instant attacks are fixed at 2.4 speed weapon damage.

lol 50 ubrs runs? I've done 150+ ubrs runs and I've seen Dalrends main hand drop ONSE and it got ninjaed by a hunter, lol I've long ago given up on dalrends set, the offhand still lays dusty in my bank, but Brut blade was hell of easier to get then dal renns main hand let me tell u that lol

Make some cash and put the other sword on AH and KEEP USING KROL BLADE. It's only 1-2 more damage, and not worth wasting 100-sumthing gold on. Besides, Krol Blade's stats are WAY better.

I got this opening day of dire giant ogre was moving around in arena. More impressive is a rogue won and open trade with meand simply said dude this the best tank sword i have seen, and gave it to me, he rolled a 100 on it, me a 7 lol.

off of one of the big dragonspawns i think it's a scalebane. anyway i won it and believe me it is better for a pally than an iceblade hacker (the sword of zeal gives stat bonuses and it has a proc. the hacker only does damage)

for any rogues interested in this item, i highly suggest picking it up over a krol blade. the proc rate is constant, almost always refreshing itself before it ends. this means you could say this weapon has 91 - 161 damage range. the proc also affects BOTH of your weapons. if you were to equip a fast offhand that 10 extra damage per hit is a hell of alot of DPS. krol blade has lower top end damage which makes for weaker sinister strikes. SS's being your primary damage output outside of white damage if you are combat specced. however, if the color of your weapon is more important than being a good rogue, feel free to spend 1000 gold on a krol blade.

Bought it for 40g. Nice. Procs alot, and has saved my ass many a time. Better than krol and dragons call IMO. But, then i went to outlands and got Foe reaver from a quest. Which has awesome stats and dps. So if you want to save the gold, just go to outlands when you hit 58 :D. Currently pvping for the epic 1 hander, which will replace either foe or zeal. Which one do you think should go?

The tooltip changes depending on the gender of the character reading it. I have it in my inventory and it says "his" and I linked it to a friend and she said the tooltip said "her".

I have a sword of zeal that i bought at AH for 500g, and that's probably the best thing i ever bought, it was really worthy for the gold! im a rogue lvl60, and use it with a heartseeker off hand. It porcs VERY often, on lvl60 mobs 4mobs/5, and makes terrific criticals: ive done my record damage with it at DM, buffed to the ears, with a 5 combo points eviscerate: 2290hp.

I hae a dal'rend too, but i do prefer the zeal, because its much more interesting to have a sword who gives you a spectacular boost on every mob at UBRS that a +1% critical. Moreover the look is much more elegant, thats a sword and not a tool.

Try to get one!

I bought this at my server's AH for 60g - the seller must not have known what it was worth. Now I'm not sure what to do with it - I wanted to get something to use as an upgrade for my 1H weapon - level 60 warrior (current build 31/5/15, mostly DPS/OT in instances) currently using Thrash Blade from Mara - but I'm not sure if I should use this or sell it for what it's really worth .

Any suggestions?

We found this off a random trash mob in MC. I'm a dagger rogue but when i need to sinister strike i use this thing. Though i dont use it that much the times that i do use it it procs A LOT. Here's a pic, no enchants on it:

Got lucky and managed to get this drop outside MC or raid bosses. Dropped today off a Stone Guardian in Un'Goro my warrior friend and I were farming.

Not a bad sword at all really, though I'll admit the look of it is a bit bland, especially as he dual-wielded it with a skullforge reaver. Oh well, anything looks pretty witha shiny enchant.

some ppl might consider it a waste putting a crusader enchant on this sword but i don't regret it at all :D got limited play time during the raid hours and can therefore not join the endgame raids, but this works really great for my, and it procs ALOT. just as much, or more, as crusader. got it for 130g, was a nice price =)

This sword was a drop, actually a double drop from one of the lvl 60 elite bosses that spawned in the new arena in Dire Maul. Tazz something was his name. 60 elite, free for all arena, and he dropped 2 world blues.

For a SS rogue, this weapon is one of the best due to its slow speed and high damage range. Its nearly identical to Krol Blade and Dal Rends Sacred Charge in that department. Some may argue the set bonus makes Dal Rends a better choice, but the off hand Sacred Guardian is a poor choice for a rogue being so slow and defense oriented. So combine this sword with any high end, fast dagger like Shadowblade or Bonescraper and you have a slightly better solution. Also keep in mind, when the Sword of Zeal procs, a faster offhand weapon will benefit much more. Thats from a rogue perspective anyways.

it's more of a world instance drop but it's in skarr's loot table (one of the lowest % blues to drop) i use it and it procs as often, if not more, as crusader

If you can't get your hands on a Dal'Rend's set (5% main hand drop rate + 3 popular classes for whom it's BiS = misery), this sword is pre-raid BiS for rogues, hands down. It procs all the time. I'd estimate it's up more often than not during instance trash and boss fights.

And the proc effect is actually very useful. 10 extra damage to auto attacks, both main- and off-hand, as well as Sinister Strike. 14 attack power = 1 dps, so for a 2.8 speed main hand the proc is worth 10 damage / 2.8 sec * 14 damage per sec = 50 AP on the nose. Which coincidentally is the exact bonus given by the Dal'Rend's set. (Off hand gets the full 10 damage boost as well, not the 75% that off hand attacks usually deal, so for the off hand it's even better: assuming a 1.8 speed OH like Mirah's Song, the proc is equal to 104 extra AP.)

Of course Dal'Rend's is better, but only with the set bonus -- and getting the set bonus forces you to use an off hand with no offensive stat bonuses. It's nearly a wash.

The bottom line is if you have trouble getting into UBRS and/or have lost all faith that you'll ever win Dal'Rend's Sacred Charge if it ever does drop, this sword is worth paying a lot for. I myself bought one for 500g and do not regret it.
