Mostly from a shadow priest perspective but the numbers can pertain to everyone.

This is a very close 2nd for the highest spell damage possible on a helm (losing by only 2 points in this case) when socketed with a Glowing Shadowsong Amethyst (coming out to 92 without meta or enchant since they are equal).

The winner of that would be the Helm of Arcane Purity from SP socketed with a Runed Crimson Spinel (coming out to 93 without meta or enchant since they are equal).

This has 12 more crit, but less stam and no spirit.

Overall, probably THE best, or 2nd best caster helm in the game (depending on your hit situation, which is easy to cap for shadow priests)

This is a very excelent helm for those who can't raid or wish to become geared quickly (This means lots of AH shopping for most), since it's stats are nearly on-par with Tier 6, and in some cases, thanks to Tier 6 now being an 8 piece set, you'd get a better deal using these goggles instead of the helm! Both Affliction and Destruction would gain from using the goggles instead of the helm, Affliction from the increased spell damage and the spell crit for Desto.

gives 1.45% crit as the goggles give 1.9% crit rating, and the spell damage for the helm is only 63, as the goggles are a whopping 81.

For a Demonology (Who was nerfed...=( ) Warlock, you'd be better with the helm simply because of the extra stamina.

The only downfall to using the goggles is you lose the hit rating gained from the helm, which is essential for Affliction Warlocks.

Everything listed above is WITHOUT enchants or socketed gems, which means that after enchants and/or sockets, this could possibly and seriously blow Tier 6 helm out of the water in most stats for DPS, but the trick is actually getting the recipe since it drops from the Sunwell, which is made for after BT and Hyjal, so in a sense it's an upgrade to after you have the helm, but since the recipe isn't BoP, lots of people will be selling it for huge ammounts on the AH possibly.

I wonder if these drop specifically off of some of the later mobs in the instance or if they're available off of anything and the drop rate is really low.

Any PTR Raiders that have seen the schematics drop comment?

All warlocks do need 202 hit.

Affliction warlocks are included for two reasons:
1) You want to be able to spend ZERO points in suppression so you can use them elsewhere
2) 60% of an affliction warlock's DPS is from shadow bolt.

For the record, all trash loot can drop from any trash mobs other than the ones in the gauntlet (between Felmyst and Twins)

For an affliction warlock comparing these to T6 Helm, it's a big upgrade. You gain 18 damage at the cost of 16 hit. If you compare that hit/dmg ratio to other Sunwell loot vs BT/Hyjal you'll find that it's a very good ratio.

The pants from Felmyst (Leggings of Calamity), for example, compared to T6 are -18 hit, +12 dmg. Not as good.
The gloves from Kil'Jaeden(?), Gloves of Tyri's Power, compared to T6 are -11 hit, +13 dmg.

The goal here is to gain as much +dmg as possible while maintaining +202 hit rating and 4 piece T6 bonus. Because of its hit:dmg ratio, this helm is very desirable to an engineer affliction warlock.

Actually if you put a crimson spinel in this ones, you get 93 bonus damage which is more than Helm of Arcane Purity.

confirmed. our guild just run Sunwell Plateau for trash, and they drop U.N.B.E.L.E.V.A.I.B.L.E Sunfire Robe and Annihilator Holo-Gogs. This was our best run ever :P

I cannot use this item, although I have level 75 Outland engineering. I bought it from AH, so it wasn't a drop item of completing The Sunwell. Any idea?
