it should be around 25-30 tokens considering the item level compared to the other epics at the vendor

50 tokens is just pushing too far, the only real upgrade from blues is about 10 stamina and some crit/hit rating and don't need to run heroics for them

This is a giant piece of crap. The item level is lower than all the WAY BETTER dungeon blues. It's just embaressing.

I have doubts about whether this item worths the effort.

Lets examine the "starter-kit" Evoker's Helmet of Second Sight:

120 Armor
+12 Stamina
+15 Intellect
+8 Spirit
Blue Socket
Blue Socket
Yellow Socket
Socket Bonus: +5 Spell Damage
+24 crit rating
+35 spell damage

The differences are:
+31 armor
+26 sta
+14 int
+1 meta socket
-8 spirit
-2 blue sockets
-9 crit rating
-1 spell damage

Using the blue sockets of the evoker you can disable the cowls sta advantage so I think the result dont worth 50badges.
+14int
+1meta socket
(+31armor)

-8spirit
-9crit rating
-1spell damage
(-4 sta with better blue gems)

If your going to do a comparison, be fair about it. Don't forget to add the meta gem (+12dmg and 5% chance to cast spell in half time) (blue) gem (+5 dmg and +4 crit) unless your rich and can afford epic gems.
So it breaks down to final stats of:
+ 56 spelldmg (+5 from socket bonus)
+ 19 crit
+ 5% chance to cast next spell in half time
(very nice ability IMO..1.25 second frostbolt? wow.)

Evokers:
+ 55 spelldmg (+35 natural)(+15 from gems)(+5 from bonus)
+ 28 crit (+4 from gem)
+ 8 stam (+4*2 from gems)

(I wouldn't use stat gems in the helm, and i don't think any DPS caster would..minus maybe those +8 stam gems for locks.)

Final results Mana-Binders Vs Evokers:

+ 1 spelldmg
+ 5% chance to cast in 1/2 time
+ 18 stam
+ 14 int
- 9 spellcrit

Looks to me like it's a much better upgrade from Evokers. Imo it needs a red gem slot or some other equally good buff for me to justify forking out 50 badges.

It's only slightly better than T0 class helms (like oblivion or mana-etched crown).

You're actually winning like 10 stamina and a bit of crit rating. Oh and a bit of armor too :)

Sure it's an upgrade. But worth 50 badges ? Hardly...
