Tier 4 helm is just about better then this since it has gem slots, but this is still pretty damn nice item, i got mine from random mob at Shadow labyrinth and lucky enough was only leather user.

I'm wearing it now with the Glyph of Ferocity enchantment from Cenarion Expedition.

The helm is really extremely powerful, and even though I have the Grand Marshal Leather Helm (Level 70) socketed with +5 stun meta. I find myself torn whether to just stick with this or switch it out when I am going to PvP. It is becoming both my PvP and PvE helm.

It even looks extremely cool to boot. Yay for Nightslayer 2.0

4 resilience (but who cares about res anyway?

That's a difference of:
-20 agility
-6 stamina
+22 hit rating
+18 AP
+4 resilience
-stealth sight
+run speed increase
+1000 or more gold in your bag

So you lose 2 total AP, lose 60 hitpoints, trade whatever 20 agility is worth in crit and dodge for 22 hit rating, gain 4 resilience (but once again, who cares?), and trade stealth sight for movement speed. A fair epic with a nice special, but you will actually do more dps with the Helm of the Claw, and save over 1000 gold.

Oh the pain... this dropped off one of the Shadowsworn Drakonid <Servant of Illidan> (70 Elite) that path on Ata'mal Terrace outside of the Black Temple in Shadowmoon Valley. I looked in all of the main WoW database sited (wowhead, wowwiki, thottbot, allakhazam, etc...) and none of them show a drop of this type of mob. THAT is how rare this drop must be from here.

And I was in a late night PUG trying to work group quests in Shadowmoon Valley with (me - feral cat, combat rogue, arms warrior, and holy priest). Because it was BoE, they wanted the group to all roll on it... warrior won it. OH... the pain. Even had the rogue won it, I would have been cool with it... but AHing it? Uhg. Anyway, it drops off the drakonids up there... although the chances of it dropping are so slim, you may as well be struck by lighting twice in the same spot.

This thing droped for me on AH (don't even want to say what I payed for it hehe), but it's worth it.

This head piece + Master's Thread + Stealth on back + Hemo build = Insane. I'm invisible to everyone, and can spot another stealthed Rogue/Druid from miles away. Since I'm Subtley speced (with +15% agillity), the 45 agillity on the helmet ain't wrong for me either. Doubt I'm gonna change helmet before T5 / T6 for pvp atleast, T4 helmet is only better for me atm because of set-bonus in pve.

I have 651agi unbuffed but only +151 hit so I think +hit is more valuable till a certain point.

Only thing I would say this is valuable for is PvP for the +slight stealth detection, but I seriously doubt it helps much. Spend the 2 talent points in Sub tree as this lets you see anyone stealthed from about 5 yards away easy if not farther and adds 4% reduction in ranged / spell hits on you (if your a rogue, I guess some feral druids might want but not many and they can use General's gauntlets for the +stealth).

Save your self the gold and do the quest. I have seen the Night Watchman on a couple servers I play on go anywhere from 750g (realistic price but still not sure its worth it) to a stupid price of almost 5k gold on Garona. I laugh when I see people do that as they have to know they are gonna eat the deposit fee.

With this helm and with 2/2 Heightened Senses, you will be able to hear and see your stealthed enemy before he or she sees you, but the advantage is slight and your reaction time needs to be perfect (quickly target them with TAB or mouse) to be able to profit from this helm. It certainly does what it says, although a rogue without this helm will be able to see the same target, albeit just a little bit later. The most gratifying part of owning this helm has to be the fact that I know I've done everything I can to be invisible (I have the cloak enchant, Master's Treads, full MoD, and Heightened Senses). And I love the NS helm graphic.

1.Second Sight helm does not stealth detection. You can have this bonus only if you have engineering in next patch(it is crap prof atm imo), so i am saying that rogue ability of heightened senses+this head or PvP druid gloves+this head pretty good. Some people prefer to get their pve equip-its their choice.
2.Its clearly arena head, so 8 agi>st+hit.
3.I have it. It helps a lot. Its just imba. I am shadowstepper and in 99% i can detected stealthers first, so i ALWAYS opened with cheapshot first.
4.Imo its cost 2k+ and if you can bue it for 600-1000g do it!
5. Farm 1k-2k gold in TBC so easy mode and i am happy use this imba head.

Bought this for 1k g on Khadgar, made happy to finally have it, esp, since seeing it for 5k on the ally side.

I'm a 41/20/0 rogue and ever since I specced out of Sub, Im getting jumped left and right by rogues and druids in bg and arena. No more. Stealth enchant, Master's treads and this helm even the playing field.

Ask any combat rogue that pvp's alot, and he will tell you that losing Mod hurts ALOT in pvp. It's true. And ever since losing MoD, Ive finally gotten back to a decent level of stealth/detection.

This helm was worth every penny I spent on it, if It went for twice as much and I had the gold, I'd spring for this in a second. If you have the gold and pvp alot, go for it. 2v2 and 3v3 arenas, openers are HUGE, dont walk around with zero stealth, might as well walk up to them naked sometimes.

The only thing better would be if I was a JC and could make the panther figurine, then I'd finally be content!

I just had this drop for me doing the Daily escort quest in Skettis. Off of one of the mobs that materialize to fight the prisoner.

I'm a Warlock, but my best bud on the game is a PvP luvin Rogue. This may not be the greatest helm in the world, but I'm betting he's about to get a very sweet upgrade. He's just recently made it to 70.

It's selling for about 1500G on Garona, but that doesn't mean that it's really sellin. Just that some nutjob put it up on the AH for that much. This helm is awesome! It may not be the best for PVE BUT... I can see assassins and other stealthers in instances and has proved to be a wipe-saver from time to time from me detecting them before they got to the cloth healers. I was able to detect the Rogue boss from Kara (melee distance of course) and deter an otherwise fatal 8k attack on our priest. Yeah, I took the hit and died from other previous injuries, but the group made it and it was worth it in the end.

Even though there is no +hit for leet PVE DPS, the agility gives you some decent defense to help balance your Rogue out. My Rogue was spec'ed so much in DPS that I became a glass cannon and it was no fun having to play defense and hold back on my attacks. Now I let my dodge do all the defense and can still dish out some mega dps without having the #$%^ty tank crying about how hard it is to hold aggro off of me even though I waited forever for his sunders or the priest to have to stop for mana after every mob because their mana bar became my second health bar.

Just look at any teir gear and notice that they always have better base stats rather than the gimmicky green stats that come and go in the pre-raid gear. All and all this is a decent helm if you can compensate hit in other gear. Otherwise SAVE IT FOR PVP YOU NOOBS. kthxbai

I see many comments from people who don't own this and have never used this helm. The stealth detect works great and is great for PVP. Who doesn't do PVP? For PVE look at the AGI. Add the decent attack power and okay stam and armor. Also, look at the graphics. Now tell me you rogues don't want this. I bought this last night for 1k and it was well worth it for me. I ran my arena matches for the week and most likely would have lost a hand full without the extra stealth detect. I am combat/sword spec. and this helm is a great addition.

Just bought this from a Priest for 301g, and checking the AH had 5 listed all more than 800g each.

I'm L69 atm, and will equip this as soon as i'm 70 as i prefer PvP, although the stats ain't bad for PvE.

**TIP: Levelling with 2 gathering profession = more gold than i've ever had.

I've bought this helm for 301g, already bought my flying and Epic flying mounts, and have about 1242g in the bank.
