Pretty awesome weapon to go with Hope Ender, Vindicator's Brand, Gladiator one-handed weapons, and the like due to being the same speed. This weapon isn't unique so you could eventually have 2 of them which would be a very nice combo for warriors and shamans for flurry let alone the nice balance of stats. It is nice to see a good weapon (non-dagger/sword) that is one-handed. Also the speed makes it nice to avoid your offhand (assuming your using it for OH) from procing Windfury as an enhancement shaman.

This is apparently the epic version of Stellaris. Given the fact Enh. shamans are minority compared to hunters I guess we will see this at the hands of a lot of hunters in the future.

Being a fury warrior, yes I'd like this as my MH, Decapitator being my current, but I'll admit this is a very nice hunter weapon due to stats - nice total AP for them.

It would be a crime not to give this axe first and foremost to an enhancement shaman. It's the only decent shaman offhand at this point outside black temple. The only other choices are the runic hammer (crafted epic), the axe from heroic crypts, or a boe green.

So....the 1 handers together give you about the same RAP as the 2H, a lot more dodge, about twice the armor, about 200 less hitpoints, a full crit chance less, and weak raptor strikes.

Decidedly the choice for survival hunters in the raid for sure...harder to get because you need to loot 2 of them though, and much less good for PVP.

I would wait a bit longer and loot the 2H from Kael'thas, a decidedly awesome hunter weapon.

To be honest a hunter dualwielding Netherbane will be a rare sight due to it's rather low drop rate and the only good thing about dualwield is double mana oils.. nothing else. (5 more agi than 2h after 2.2 due to 20agi chants).

Netherbane (w/ 20agi x2 chants) dw for a survival hunter:
101.2 Agility.
184.28 Rap.
38 Stamina which equals about 417hp.

***Versus***

Halbard of Desolation (w/ 35agi chant) for a survival hunter:
98.9 Agility.
206.85 Rap.
57 sta equals 627hp
30 hit rating equals 1.90% to hit.

Conclusion: You will gain 2 agility but loose about 20 rap, loose stamina and nerf your +hit while gaining the chance to use 2x mana oil.
Let them poor shamans and warriors get this weapon =)
((But but we're not in BT yet, we can't get the polearm yet!!1, the Kael'thas encounter is rumoured to be made easier next patch and the droprate on Netherbane is pretty low)).

= 78atp (more with spec)
= 78atp + 76atp (on it) = 154atp (more with spec)

almost 2 crit and 154atp+ isnt bad, but isnt the best a hunter can do...specially with no +hit. It isnt worth taking away from dps warr or shammy (i cant believe i just said that...my eyes are bleeding)...i would go with Legacy with +35agi. Little less crit (3agi worth) 1 more atp, more stam and a lot less drama....cause with the upgrade...most of the drops are going to go to hunters...but thats opinion.

Very nice for me. I'm a Fury Warrior, and honestly believe hunters shouldn't get this over any actual melee DPS class. The DPS is too good to just give to a hunter for the stats.

Considering the Speed of this weapon, and that it can be held in the offhand, this is ideal for the OH for enh shaman. Consider the alternative weapons for a PVE character pre BT... Runic Hammer.

Hunters don't seem to realize that as a raider, a melee slot item should be treated like a ring, just for stats. Like wise applying for a melee class, their ranged slotshould be treated like a ring slot; just for extra stats.

Imo, If its a melee weapon, 1-Handed with a speed of 2.6-2.7, Its probably best to yeild it to a melee class before a hunter rolls. Agility + Ap also does not mean it is a hunter weapon, All melee dps classes use these two stats.

Hunter weapon?, try for a DPSer, like a Fury warrior or a Pally. Just because it has Agility and AP dosent make it a "hunter" weapon. It more to the MELEE class. Warrior's or Pallies(depending on Specc) would get this. Hunter's need to learn they are RANGED and stop thinking every single weapon that has Agility or AP on it is for them. If Hunter rolled for this againist a Melee class like a War or something Not would he or she get thier Arse cussed out, they be will be kicked from group and labled as a retard...

well in fact with the new +20 agi enchant coming with 2.2.0, 2 of these oufperform legacy for sv hnters in my opinion. legacy still has more ap and the mp5, but 2 of these yield more crit and more important more agi.

i consider myself as lucky, because we have no enh shamans, just 1 fury warrior and 2 hunters in our raid, so it's just me and the other hunter, because the fury warrior will get better weapons i think. if i still don't have legacy until i see this thing drop, i will definately bet and i will almost for sure win it, because the other hunter has legacy.

Ok, being a hunter myself, I only have this to say about this.

To the hunters, yeah it's got agi, but unless you're survival spec with points in expose weakness pass on this because there's other weapons with a combo of +crit/hit and +AP which is more important nowadays than it was before.

To warriors/shammies/etc. I'm not going to recommend passing on this one to a survival hunter, but do keep this in mind. A survival spec hunter with expose weakness is able to put a debuff on the target (whatever raid boss you're on) giving every other person in the raid...EVERY person, not just his own party...added AP equal to 25% of his agi. hence, the more agi a survival hunt has, the more ap the raid has overall. (Just make sure he knows how to control his aggro right, otherwise the high crits will pull quickly.) ;)

Think of it like this. if the hunter has 800 agi and he crits the target, the whole raid now recieves 200 extra AP. It doesn't make much difference for the casters, but think of all the wars/pallies/rogues/shammies/druids and other hunters that this will affect. It's like adding another person or two to the raid.

All you who think a Hunter shouldn't have this weapon are a bunch of fools. You think a hunter should have a 2h'er? Bunk! Put +20 agility on these and you are talking about +164 AP, not to mention the bonus to crit you get from the bonus 88 combined agility if your dual wielding.

Not only that, but many people don't realize just how viable SV hunters are in raids. I can keep 2 mobs CC'd all while adding dps. Plus expose weakness can add to the dps of all Melee and ranged members in the raid. A 30% crit rate all but guarantee's that Expose weakness is up pretty much constantly.

Could other classes benefit from these axes? Sure. But, don't say it's a waste on a hunter, because it's not.

well if u think about it 2 netherbane > legacy

2 netherbane --> +50 agi
+80 ap
+42 stam

legacy --> 40 agi
80 ap
46 stamina
+8 mana per 5 sec

with 2 netherbane 10 more ag but 4 less stamina and no mana regeneration. BUT if u think of adding +20 agi in each one of those u will get +40 agi. While if u have legacy u can only add +35 agi. So u have +5 agi bonus. Therefore in total u get +15 agility which is much more important than 4 stamina and +8 mana per 5 sec

I just got this weapon last night on my Shaman and it is awesome.

For the hunters out there I don't deny this is a great stat weapon for you but realize there are few choices out there for great raiding weapons for shamans and this is one of them.

While shaman buffs can't effect whole raids AP the buffs they do bring to a party outmatch expose weakness.

Strength of Earth totem (T4 bonus) +98 STR
constant buff as long as totem is up

Unleashed Rage 5/5 adds 10% AP to party members AP when I crit.

Windfury totem 20% to grant extra attack with 445 extra AP
or if I'm partied with hunters.

Grace of Air totem +77 AGI

I am in the works of getting another one of these, as an officer and hunter leader of my guild I did wait till' all the enhance, and good DPS warriors we had got this item. It is in fact an upgrade for me, but it's kind of a minor upgrade really, as a survival hunter the 20 or so agility increase is nice and the 170RAP it gives is even nicer, the only down side is the somewhat small stamina and no + hit rating.(I was comparing it to Legacy and Trollbane)

But as many said before this its probably best suited for Enhance shamans, and DPS warriors if they don't want anything else, hunters shoulden't be QQing over not getting to roll or getting this weapon since they just go into Karazhan or Zul'Aman and get a equally good weapon.
Now the reason why 'I' wanted these; was because I do nothing else but raid, I don't PVP I don't do both on a regular basis as I don't have the time to anymore, so duel wielding weapons isn't a problem for me, and every little bit of stats helps, so even if it's only a difference of about %0.45 crit and 20 agility thats still 20 more agility I didn't have before.

As a survival hunter the full agility with enchants gives you 103.5 Agility. So over all RAP is 183.5 RAP, with about %2.1 full crit.

2X Netherbane + 2X +20agi chants= 90agi+80(170)AP

Sadly, the less cool looking Breeching Comet is better:

2X Breeching Comet + 2X +20agi chants + 2X +10agi gems= 96 agi+80(176)AP

I'd still go for 2X Netherbane, just because of the look
