Yes I would pass for druids, dodge is a pretty mediocre stat for rogues. Too bad there's no other leggings that drop in Karazhan that are clearly meant for rogues.

Midnight Legguards (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30538#z0z) from Quagmirran in The Slave Pens on Heroic is the best alternative. Warpscale Leggings (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28347) is excellent and "easy" to get but the crit rating will be changed to the "intended" dodge rating in patch 2.1.

These actually aren't that bad for pure PvE DPS on a rogue, throw 316AP gems in, a 40AP/10crit armor kit and you've got 172AP on just a pair of leggings. I would not, however take these over a feral druid, but I'm now using these over (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29116) for raid DPS, and sticking to the nomad's for PvP.

This chest is part of a "set" of items that have no connection to each other other than that they all share the same design style and color. Its basicly a reworking of the tier2 set, but now in brown and white.

I think its such a cool looking "set" that I would probably wear it around town despite having stuff that is better like the Tier4.

dodge is the second druid's dmg migation. we personally want to have a lot of dodge so to make it easy on healers. but yea, there is a limit to how much dodge is good for u. for example, i would go between 33% to 38%. reason simply because of the dmg migation while maintaining a steady rage and threat output. this by far is a good tanking / dps pants for druid.

Quite possibly some of the best, if not the best, druids dps leggings there are until tier 5, and even then, they're comparable by about 10-15 ap and some crit, assuming you go for the +4 agi socket bonus w/ a Sovereign Nightseye. Socket these puppies w/ 3 Bold Living Rubies, and you're looking at 155 ap; that's 20 more ap than tier 4 AND a 28 hit rating. Pretty beast, imo.

Socket these with Glinting Noble Topaz x2 (+4 hit, +4 agi), and a Rigid Dawnstone (+8 hit rating), you're looking at +44 hit from a single item. The only advantage of having Netherblade over this is to get higher +sta and AP.

Simply amazing for a raiding rogue.

What is the miss chance with no hit rating? If I remember correctly I think its 17% (May be wrong). Right now I have 265 hit rating and +16.8% chance to hit which gives me a .2% chance to miss and im not going to throw a fit about missing 1 in 500 swings. This seems like a downgrade from Midnight Leggings (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30538#dropped-by) which Im currently using because I lose a nice amount of crit for 9 hit rating and 25-30 (Im guesstimating) AP. With 1630 unbuffed AP, I find myself lacking crit and thats why these seem like somewhat of a downgrade. Im not saying these suck, but would like some opinions on rather its worth it or not.

For rogues:
With 3x these are better than tier4 leggings.

Netherblade Breeches = 43+84 = 127 AP
Skulker's Greaves = 32+64+48 = 144 AP

And Skulker's also have 2 more hit rating than tier4.

I'm a dedicated catform druid in my guild, and I got engaged in a discussion on which pants would be better, these or the Clefthoof Hide Leggings (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31544)

I have my Skulker's socketed with +8str, +8agi and +4agi/+6stam
(Bold Living Ruby, Delicate Living Ruby, Shifting Nightseye) so I will assume those in the comparison below.

Comparison:
Skulker's

Attack Power: 149,47 ((8*1.03*2.4)+((32+8+4)*1.03)+64)
Crit: 3.17% ((32+8+4*1.03)*0.07)
28 hit rating

Clefthoof Hide Leggings

Attack Power: 105.06
Crit: 2,16%
17 hit rating

Pure stat-wise it's obvious, Skulker's give more pew-pew. 44.41 more AP and 1.01% more crit.
The question we faced, tho, was about the hit rating. Can/does the 11 more hit rating on the Skulker's make the 18 feral combat skill on CHL superfluous? I'm not sure as to what it does exactly... 18 feral combat skill adds 4 weapon skill points. That would mean on raidbosses you'd be fighting with a 'lvl 71 weaponskill' so bosses would only be 2 levels higher than you in combat skill. That would make up for about 2% hit, maybe?

The problem is I'm not sure what feral combat skill calculates into, _exactly_. Any theorycrafter out there that could clear this up for me?

If there are no rogues/druids in the raid that need these, they're decent hunter pants. They lack INT (and MP5, if you're into that), but the AGI plus the sockets would be better for SV hunters than Rip-Flayer Leggings (also from Netherspite) that have no agility.

It really depends on whether you need hit or INT more, but hunters shouldn't turn them down just because they're leather.

these leggings with 10 strenght gems and the purple leg enchant would give 174 attack power. u also get a small amount of crit and 28 hit rating. granted i think there is badge pants better than these for fury warriors but if you would rather spend your badges on something else like the new vendor weps these will do you just fine.

I know that I will probably catch some crap for this, but these are also incredibly useful for survival hunters and provide about the best we can get until the Void Reaver greaves in Tempest Keep (which are mail).

Of course, if there is a rogue in party who needs them as an upgrade they get first priority... but the problem is that these pants are simply so awesome other specs can use them!

Socteded with +8 AGI gems, this provides 56 agility, which gives a bonus of an additional 14 attack power for all melee and ranged physical DPS in your raid with the Expose Weakness debuff. While 14 may not seem like a lot, consider the fact that, with these and raid-buffed, I'm around 800 agi, and... GG. =)

Blizzard, what WERE you thinking by adding a +4 to dodge socket bonus on rogue gear...gear that drops in a raiding instance no less? + dodge is useless for rogues. It's not even useful in PvP because the +hit base stat is useless for PvP. These are raiding rogue pants found in a raiding instance. It made more sense when one of the base mods was + to dodge making it great druid pants.

Thus, the socket bonus needs to be changed to any of the following (in order of usefulness in rogue raiding):

- +4 hit
- +6 attack power
- +4 crit
- +4 stamina
- +4 agility

Put 3x bright Living ruby in it and u get more AP then on netherblade breeches or midnight legguards. also 1 hit rating more. Ap+hit =essencial for combat dagger rogue.

Actually, you should not butt heads at all:

The class that will benefit more from the base stats of these pants as of 2.1 is the rogue class. Thus, if both the druid and the rogue in your Kara group need pant upgrades, yield to the rogue. Your raid will benefit more having your rogue wear these than your druid. Rogues need +hit more with their insane DPS for better accuracy. Druids need +dodge more for their off-tanking ability.

Prior to 2.1, the druid class benefitted more because there was +dodge and no +hit as a base stat.

Those posts you read were from before the patch when these pants had dodge rating. everyone knows each item only gets a certain amount of stats. If an item has dodge rating on it, it's item lvl points that could be used for ap/crit/hit etc. Therefor these pants WERE ideal for a druid and any rogue taking them over a druid was just being greedy because its an epic. Now they are worth breaking your assassination/wastewalker set bonus for for rogues.

Im not gunna lie to all the druids out there..This is some pretty good DB form tanking legs, and i saw farther posted above someone wouldnt give there assaination set bonus for these (i udderly agree). obviously enough, If a rogue doesnt have better give him the courtesy of rolling need also. thus, if you lose, you lose no hard feelings. I personally would hand these to a deral druid though i have not come across the situation just yet raiding karah i prefer a warrior.. Oh well

Got them on my rogue last night aswell as the Cowl of Defiance - yes, I took both of them from the feral druid in the group.

Why? To knock up a &*!@load of AP and hitrating. I lack hit rating, so 3 x +8hit in the sockets has done fine.

Gnarth, How did you come up with 156ap for these? I couldn't get there with 2 red +8 strength gems and a blue +4 strength. I assume you are ignoring the socket bonus and using another strength gem?

druid here, i mt/ot/dps. of course i will pass these to a rogue that needs them in the raid, but items like this are also my +1 priority for tanking.

i dont need all this heavy cleft for defense and armor, it is just way to easy to get crit immune as a feral. what i do want is +hit along with my +feral combat skill to be able to not have 3 moves miss in a row.

with the buff in armor and addition of hit rating this becomes more attractive to me as a tank. the harder/sooner our dps can unload the better.

to feral druids: these arent the best dps pants for us. dont roll against a rogue for these

I have t4, i would trade for these. With 3 +8hit gems, thats a total of 52 +hit on pants, which is amazing. If you dont have 308 +hit and 5/5 precision, you are doing it wrong. Yes they lack some AP, and yeah, their isnt that much agi, but for PVE, you want these

You will do a ton more dps at 308 hit and 1600 AP than you will with 200 hit and 1900 AP, trust me.

I'm a feral druid, and have both T4 legs and Skulker's to choose from for tanking. I can get to 32k armor, but what I've realized is that when I'm the MT in raids I have the +25% armor buff on me most of the time from Ancestral Fortitude / Inspiration. That buff armor-caps me if I have over 28700 armor without it. (The cap is 35880 against L73 mobs.)

As a result I've made a new set for those situations. The only differences are a stamina trinket instead of Badge of Tenacity, and Skulker's instead of T4 -- those are the two best ways to give up armor for a big stamina and agi boost, respectively.

The big +hit is a great bonus for reducing the chances for taunts and roars to be resisted as of 2.3 -- there aren't many options for +hit on bear gear.

Edit: I should mention that assuming you're not +hit capped, these are also the best pants for catform DPS until Kael'Thas. (And that's assuming gems of agi, agi, agi/stam, the same as you'd choose for tanking.)

got these tonight on my fury warrior. the only rogue there was already wearing them so i took. not gonna lie, leather or not, these pants are great. fury dps is big on hit, and 28 hit on one piece is really nice. theres also a nice mix of crit, ap, plus 3 gem slots to do whatever you want with. all in all, if your leather wearers dont need, i wouldnt pass these up.
