This weapon is stupid fun for a mage. The proc is affected by spell damage so when you drain life, it hits for 650-700. So what I do on the packs that turn into core hounds in shadow lab is steal the core hound buff, equip the weapon, and turn into a battle mage. It's really quite fun.

I mean .. unless someone else wants it haha :)

In all seriousness, I actually got this drop and have been using it in my offhand for a few days. Doesn't proc all that much in the offhand, but it still makes a decent rogue offhand until I can get something with better stats due to it's high DPS.

Just got this, using it in my OH due to high dps, planning on changing it to lathros sword, but its ok to have while i wait for a good BM group :)

About the procc-rate. Been trying it out, and seems like its like 3-5 % max. Gonna try it out in MH just to check the proc-rate. So update coming soon.

Edit: Just killed a few mobs, the proc rate was 4.75%

Got this yesterday, using it in my offhand as a fury warrior.

Proc rate is absolutely sh*t.

I would advise everyone to only take it as a placeholder. Take any other weapon from the normal lvl 70 instances, and 99% of it will be better.

Just got this, using it as a temp place holder in my offhand, waiting on Latros' much like every other rogue. High dps will be hand, and fast speed for combat potency will be nice.

I use this fine sword for tanking. The life leech isn't that great, but it's fun to watch it proc. I slapped +20 strength on it and it suits me good. Fast attack speed and decent dps makes this sword pretty good to have. I think you can duel wield it too!

As a protection warrior, dual wielding these, plus the mark of conquest and the darkmoon card: heroism, it makes for viable grinding and questing with little downtime. Throw a battlemaster enchant on both of them, and you can melee almost indefinitely.

Is this effected by increases in damage, like Curse of Shadow or Power Infusion? Would be kind of funny to see this thing proc for 1500+. No one would ever expect it!

I've used this sword (with Battlemaster) for a while now as the MT for my Karazhan raid team. It's been a steady companion all the way through the Shade of Aran, Netherspite, and the Chess Event. I'm just waiting on the King's Defender to pop up...

I was thinking of getting two of these, putting either Lifestealing or Crusader on both, Tenacious metagem (the proc isn't all that though, I needed the def rating at the time) and go to town grinding either as prot spec with hit rating gear, or with my usual fury spec and gear.

I wanted to do just this, like, 6 months ago, but I only TODAY went into Botanica for the first time and snagged it for poops and giggles. The DPS in and of themselves isn't noteworthy, but with enough AP Bloodthirst would do the job.

What say you?

I got this to drop for me last week. It's a relatively cool looking sword, I have heard of people putting battle master on this sword and using it for raiding.

Consider the weapon speed. You will be proccing something a vast majority of the time. Very beneficial to fury/sword speccers who need to grind a lot.

I genuinely don't think a rogue or warrior or even an enhance shammy should substitute their significantly better melee weapons for something like this as a grinding set. The loss in DPS would almost certainly not be made up for by the healing effect.

Now, an AoE protection paladin, whose damage is mostly done by spells and return damage on hits or blocks, could benefit from this weapon. I think the speed + reckoning would make it very effective. And if you're able to judge SoL and put up SoCrusader, you could swing even faster giving you more procs.

I haven't tested this, but I generally don't think that a class that is heavily dependent on their melee weapon being top notch in order to damage can benefit from using this sword as a grinding option.

Two Revengers + Battlemaster on each + Mark of Conquest + Heroism Card = Crap loads of survival.

Mix that on a warrior with Blood Craze and Second wind and you've got a very annoying warrior on your hands

Last night was in a crappy group.. died 15 times, but atleast we killed this guy, and had 2 of these drop...what are the chances.. good thing i'm a dps arms war .. they let me roll need on both.. don't think they are worth respeccing fury, but anyways they are going to be some fun toys

I can confirm proc rate sux.. went to try it out on 20 mobs... it proc'ed twice in 20 fights .. and thats duel weilding..

Procs too rarely to be an efficient off-hand for a rogue. Dualwielding warriors might put this to good use, because of the neat dps it has.

Cant wait until i get my hands on this with my spelladin *drool* my ancient hakkari manslayer alredy procs for about 600 and thats with lvl 60 gear guessing this would procc for over 1000 when you get bc gear

Procs for 400+ with ~300 spelldmg gear. With trinket active biggest proc was 580+. I use this while farming or soloing elites. Fast speed makes it perfect for JoW and ocasional procs help with the DPS and healing. The proc itself does something like 10-15DPS/HPS for me. On a grind session it accounts for 35-45% of the total healing. Using Revenger with SoV / JoW, I need to rest every 50-70k damage done to mobs, so almost no downtime for me.
I have 2 of these, one with Crusader, one with Fiery. Both enchants suck at 70... The weapon proc alone does 3-5 times more damage than Fiery for the entire grind session. Crusader healing is so small, it's not even remotely comparable to the weapon proc. I'm wondering about putting lifesteal on one of the swords and try it. Or maybe I'll get a third one and try it.
BTW, today 2 more dropped on one kill of the boss, one more dropped the next run. Yesterday I did a run there, and got my second Revenger. The run before that one it also dropped. You get the idea...

P.S.: Ugly as hell, but I've seen worse...

the drop rate on these are insane... the boss dropped two of these things at the same time. the group was made of rogue (me), shammy, druid (tank), druid (healer), warlock. i was the only one that could use them so they all let me take them but its not too good of a main-hand... nice proc though!

Two of these dropped on my Paladin's last run; the other pally and I kinda shrugged and each got one. It was a 'why not?' kind of situation. I figured I needed a spare weapon since I'm tanking quite often and I've found it doesn't hurt to have a spare, but I had no idea it's as good as everyone here's described.

Now I'm happy I grabbed one, lol.

I'm a rogue and use it in left hand but although when i use slice and dice + blade fury + speed bonus from the 3/5 assassination set it does not proc a lot... I would even say it nearly NEVER proc...

Rogues, just go LATRO and leave this @#$% to warrior in right hand so they can take a better aggro (lifestealing effect generates menace)

I picked this up a few nights ago in Bot. Was the only one in group that could use it so I took it (warrior tanking). Was trying it for tanking and never once saw in chat window or combat log where it ever procd even once. Whats the deal with this?

I got this a few days ago as a prot warrior. I've noticed that i can spam heroic strike alternating with sunder armor/devastate without running out of rage. The stats suck on the weapon, and since i'm a warrior, i don't have +spell dmg eq. It never proc's for me, and the standard proc of 100hps or whatever is meaningless.

I basically use it b/c it's got a super quick attack speed and high dps. I got it b/c i was the only melee in my bot group, but this is by far a paladin weapon b/c they get more use out of +spell damage gear.

Well, it sort of matches the Vindicator's Brand. It wasn't a bad combo for a minute with my combat/sword. It's fast OH that compliments the Vindicator in MH and they both are ugly. Get the leather pimp hat and the Aldor tabbard and pimp them foes. Pimpin' ain't easy - Too Short

um... anyone consider Shockadin PvP with this?
shockadins in mediocre gear are gonna have about 650-800 spell damage. ok well 800+~100 from weapon proc + seal of righteousness = a nice little hit there for you. nice burst damage as well. if no tank / fury warrior needs it think id go for it

Grabbed this wep from my first Bot run, great group (previously ran Mech and decided to get some rep).

As everyone wants to know about the proc its about 5% chance on hit from the few days Ive had it, kinda looks like a shadow bolt hitting you. Heals you for around 110 most of the time and comes in handy when farming. I'm thinkin about slappin on crusader or lifesteal and perhaps agi if i can scrap up the mats. Great tank/fury warr weps as myself I am a fury warr. Id reccommend this over Latros for fury warrs only because some sword rogues might give you some crap about needing it. Good luck to anyone tryin to get this wep, its well worth it speed and proc.

This is a great wep, even though it doesn't benefit from instant SS for Sword Rogues, the fast speed makes up for that. But should I get this with the Edge of the Cosmos, or use Reflex Blades and Stormreaver Warblades?
