Most guilds arent able to take King Maulgar down yet, therefor this is a really good choice.
The primal fire can easily be grinded in Northern Nagrand (elemental plateau), Northern Blades Edge Mountains or Center Shadowmoon valley

from the PTR it loses 1 crit rating and 2 damage ... not nice, but its still pretty much the best girdle in game and range for most players (including me) i suppose ;)

I got this one on my destruction warlock and I can tell you, this is the best belt you can get pre-Serpentshrine Cavern.

Definately worth the time farming the mats. (Which aren't that hard and that time consuming to get)

Since tailoring will allow respecs, I plan on making one of these to replace my Spellfire belt when I go for Frost build. A Perfect belt in its place. I am glad I have saved all my Shadowcloth while being a spellfire tailor!

While talking with a Blizzard GM, you can still wear the shadowweave gear but you will not recieve the socket or set bonuses from it, thus allowing you to switch

This was not hard to farm, and the stats are terrific. For someone who lacks long, uninterrupted patches of time to grind through instances, I highly would recommend pursuing this belt.

If you socket both with veiled noble topazes, eschewing the GoR for GLS means:

Lets consider you use 4crit/5spelldmg (potent noble topaz) gems on the sockets:

18 stamina
13 intelect
28 spell crit rating
49 spell dmg

well... https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=33291 still has

+1 stamina
+9 intelect
+17 spell hit rating (!!!)
same spell crit rating
-9 spelldmg

And don't start "ohhh i'm already hit capped"... dwd, with +17 spell hit rating, you can trade 4 of your veiled noble topaz (4hit/5spelldmg) - that i'm sure you have 'em somewhere in your equipement - for the mighty 4crit/5spelldmg (potent noble topaz), so, effectively, you would win an extra +16 spell crit rating.

In the end, the https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=33291 beats the crap out of https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=24256 any day of the week 'cause it's better and a zillion times cheaper.

Now that Nether Vortexes are easily accessible, https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30280 (Belt of Blasting) is far better. Yes you lose stamina and intellect, but you gain 10 more crit, and more importantly, 23 spell hit. The spell damage and socketing two +12 spell damage gems makes this belt one of the best in the game.

I would say this belt is far better for mages. We shadow priests don't crit for the most part, given we only have two spells that can do so. It's a great belt, socketed well, but you can do better if you're a spriest.

At some point they changed the stats to:

Put a Brilliant Dawnstone and Glowing Nightseye in there and you have a decent belt with 46 Damage, 38 Sta, 21 Int. Not bad. I'm sure there will be better raid-class belt drops, but if you can farm the mats and then find a Tailor who has a Primal Nether and will make it for a reasonable fee (heh... Primal Nether and Reasonable Fee probably won't happen), then I'd go for it.

Sure beats trying to PVP the 22,000 Honor to get a belt that has 2 more stamina, 21 less damage, and a Resilliance Rating.

Skelic you are by far a terrible mage. That belt is by far one of the best in game. Furthermore, find me a green that comes remotely close.

To everyone else, this belt is worht it. Really worth it.

Crit and DMG is outstading. Put it more crit and dmg and you win as a raiding mage.

Seems to be a zone drop from most lvl 70+ instances (i.e. Botanica, Black Morass, Shadow Labs, etc.). Epic plan drop rate is less than .1%, I'd say. I got mine in Mechanar off the second boss.

yes but you see, Ill use the veterans belt for arena/pvp but for pve i would use the girdle because of the 2 sockets that u can socket with +9 spell damage or more.

Overall and excellent belt for Mages, Warlocks and Shadow Priest's especially. One of the top 4 IMO, the one off High King is better an the one off Mag is arguable considering it has crit which isn't that important for shadow priests. Definitely the most easily attainable as it can be crafted and really isn't that expensive. I replaced my Nethersharde Girdle with it a few weeks ago when I was lucky enough to buy the pattern for 400G.

For any primary raiding class this is much better than the Veteran's Belt. Yeah the stats are nice but it's severally lacking in damage compared to this one. Put two +9 dmg gems or a +12 along with a +9 and you have quite a bit of damage out of this. Personally I use this for raiding and had the unyielding belt crafted as well to save up my honor for bigger upgrades. Why spend the honor on the Vet belt when u can easily have close to equal belt's crafted for raiding and pvp and use your honor for something else. I don't plan on getting the Vet belt until I have everything else for pvp, it will be my second to last upgrade before the vet boots.

The people who say the Vet belt is better than this for raiding are usually the ones trying to catch me in the damage meters. Don't wonder why you can't compete with raiders when your wearing PVP Gear! The only items that are usually better than raid items for raiding are some of the glad stuff mainly the Weapons.

If you learn it, you might be the only one on your server that has it. If you sell it, you might make 800g quickly.

Personally I would tip up to 200g to get a tailor to make this, with my mats.
(if it wasnt for the fact that Nethershard Girdle just dropped in kara)
