After receiving your card (which is from the booster packs or if you're willing to dig into your pockets costs about $22), go onto WorldofWarcraft.com and you can use the code to activate the code, and then head onto your character and into Booty Bay where Landro Longshot on the docks will give you one in exchange for the code.

I never heard of this or seen this ever. And my server is a very OLD server which is hard to believe there isnt any of these on my serv. But who knows the horde might have them. But if Poker is right then im gonna get me one of those codes i think its defintly worth it

I got a pack of the WoW TCG cards yesterday, and a winning scratch off with one of these was in there.

It's cute, and it's certainly unique, but it's not terribly exciting. If you have this and you're standing around in a major city, be prepared to get a lot of whispers asking where people can get it from.

Well... Considering another TCG, Magic the Gathering, in which you just collect cards and don't get any bonus after buying alot of 'em and playing for ages, getting a little pet or a mount, that might do anything, but just be there, is awesome imo.

Chased this card for a while, ended up buying at least 10-12 booster packets. Ended up swapping all my cards for this card. Worthwhile having. Haven't seen another one on my server. Probably cheaper to buy card from ebay then try to get lucky buying packets of cards.

Hippogryph hatchling, is probably the rarest small pet in the game, it can only be obtained by finding the "Coded" Thunderhead hippogryph card in the TCG decks (not to be confused with the same uncoded card).
This is a very rare card and your chances of finding this card by buying random booster packs are not good, a better way is to find a card seller on e:bay expect to pay in excess of £25 though.
Also expect to be hassled by players everytime you get it out asking where you got it.
If you want to see one in game and are on shadowsong server just contact Kulgar of the Aztec knights.

How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/hippogryph_hatchling.htm (most information sourced from there), the lowest Buy It Now price starts around $40 USD upwards to $55 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 4 items.

How do the Loot cards work?
Loot cards are special rare versions of WoW TCG cards found in booster packs, starter decks, and raid decks that have a revealable unique code. Once this protective layer concealing the code is scratched away, a 25 digit promotion code is revealed that can be entered into the Blizzard offical promotions page. These codes work for both US and EU servers.

I have the 25 digit loot code, now what?
All accounts from every region in the world use http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/promotion.html to redeem any and all special loot. This webpage allows you to enter the 25 digit promotion code and also select the region and realm for the character that will receive the loot item.

Upon succcessfuly submitting the above information, you will be presented with an in-game code. Write this code down or print it out; you will need it to retrieve your item. Log into the game with the character that is to receive the item and travel to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. There, you will need to find a goblin by the name of Landro Longshot. He is located on the lower parts of Booty Bay on the docks, and should be easily recognised due to the fact that he has a distinctive purple shirt and two body guards next to him.

When you find Landro, he will first ask if you are here for a promotion, and then ask you which TCG expansion your item comes from (or Points Redemption); check your loot card if you are not sure which item that is. Ensure you have got bag space to hold the item!

Factoid:
Useable at any level and therefore available for twinks.

In patch 2.4 the guys in booty bay on the turtle mounts by the Old Port Authority are no longer on turtle mounts and there is no hippogryph hatchling flying behind them.

I am not sure if this means you have to turn it in somewhere else, I presume that you can still turn in your scratch card codes.

Can anyone confirm?

This isnt a drop or quest or even a vendor item...

this is a reward code off of a rare card from the new WOW trading card game from Upper Deck. You get a rare version of a card with a loto-style scratch off section with a code. You then go to what ever NPC they will impliment and give him/her the code, much like the Blizzcon Murky pet.

So if you want it, either check ebay and good luck finding one cheap (there is a turle mount card up for like $200+ at the lowest), or start buying some packs of cards and hope you get it.

This is one of the items available as a reward to players of the World of Warcraft CCG/TCG (Collectable/Tradable Card Game).

The cards that give you an item are:
1) Landro Longshot: Item: Tabard of Flame
2) Thunderhead Hippogryph: Item: Hippogryph Hatchling (non-combat pet)
3) Saltwater Snapjaw: Item: Riding Turtle (moves at your walking speed)

To get the item, you need a copy of the card that no one has used yet. There is a scratch of area (like an instant lottery game), under this scratch off area is a code unique to that copy of that card, so each card's code can only be used once ever.

There are three more items that are only available with "UDE Points". Each booster pack comes with a code that can be used online to register 100 UDE points. Get enough points and you can spend them on UDE/WoW Items. The in-game items that will be available are:
1) An alternate blue tabard
2) A reusable trinket that sets off a unique fireworks display
3) A reusable trinket that changes your in-game appearance to an ogre

Last, but not least, each of these items is specific to the single character you claim it for, not your whole account.

a couple days ago i was going through my dark portal packs and heros packs hoping i would get a loot card. Browsing through them i sighed i bought like 20000000 cards but not a single loot card which is the only reason i buy them.
then suddenly there was a loot card but not a hipporgyph it was the picnic basket one. i was very very happy but then i found i fogot to open 1 of my heros packs. i sighed then browsed through it knowing i already got a loot card wats the chances? then there she was the mst beautiful sight ever saw! The hippogryph hatchling loot card otherwaise kown as thunderhead hippogryph. i used it right away now i have my very own lil'buddy.

This non-combat pet can be acquired from the Heroes of Azeroth Booster pack box. A box of booster packs is 24 packs, each being 15 cards.

There is a good chance you will get 'a special card' in the box, but you are not guaranteed it will be a scratch card and certainly not guaranteed to be the Thunderhead Hippogryph scratchable card.

A box of Heroes of Azeroth cards runs $40-$100 depending on where you live, and taxes etc.

You can buy a Thunderhead Hippogryph Loot card from ebay starting at $40 onwards to $90.

Also note that the Thunderhead Hippogryph card comes in a non-Loot version, and this is not the one you need to get the hippogryph in game redemption.

Additionally, once you have entered the scratch card code on the World of Warcraft Official Site, you would then proceed to Booty Bay to speak with the vendors on the docks by the Port Authority. You can't miss them, they are sitting on turtles and there is a hippogryph hatchling hovering in between them.

These vendors will not speak to you unless you have entered the scratch Loot code on the World of Warcraft site successfully.

Its a really fun pet that gets alot of attention. I have a card that I haven't scratched yet. Not sure what to do with it. I have multiple pets and dont know what to expect with the upcoming expansion set for the CCG. If they introduce something new, and discontinue the other loot cards, it could make them worth even more on Ebay, kinda like the Murky pet.
