When I read that these can be turned in for XP in EPL I started a small grind for them. I killed the Entropic Beasts & Horrors in the "Shatter Scar Vale" section of Felwood. I had to kill 11 Horror's with about a 50% drop rate, and 24 Beasts' with a 27% drop rate. Took me a while but I got some XP from killing them. Plus if you're like me, a herbalist, there's quite a bit of Plaguebloom in the vicinity.

I know the quests that you get for this states you can get them from the elementals that span the world. My guess is that they are from elementals 45-50 and up. Grinding them is still simple enough because every one i have killed so far has dropped one. Yay for AD rep!

u can turn those in Eastern Pleaguelands for the insigna as they said before.They are inside the building east of horde landing in EPL and west of Alliance Landing zone in EPL.

Any elementals you may find drop these, Silithus azshara, felwood etc.

I havent run MC since patch so I cant confirm if elementals inside the instance drop... I would be suprised if they did though.

I got about 20 of these on an MC Attunemnt run in BRD.

Since the patch on Tuesday, I have been able to grind 2 Insignias of the Dawn from (60) dark Iron Scraps, gathered mostly from BRD.

I have grinded 2 Insignias of the crusader as well from (60) Bone Fragments of the skeletal undead in WPL.

These items do not drop from every mob but do have a decent drop rate. If you look for drop rates on Allakhazam then it is going to be deceptive since before the patch those MOBs did not drop the items. Don't worry about drop rates and just grind away.

I have found that for Dark Iron Scraps, the drop rate is significantly better inside instances such as BRD and BRS.

Elite mobs drops more each time (I have had 4 in one drop). So, if you have 10 minutes to spare, go kill the 10 elite elementals close to Incendious. The are easily soloable (even though they always come in pairs) if you have decent fire resist. It gives maybe 1 core of element/minute spent, so the only restriction would be the instance cap. There are five more easily accessable elite frie dudes in the beginning of BRD, so 15 drop chances per reset and when they drop, they drop 2-4 core of element (this is, soloing it).

A comment on prices of those AD turn-ins: On my server, its like 1g/item. Which is insane imo. Sure they are worth a bit, but at exalted, the epic reward takes 54 insignia. Which equates to 1620 items. No BOE on this server is worth that much... Well, we will see what the market makes of those prices.

I got a bunch of these when I was farming for Savage Fronds, I killed the horrors just to piss the chinese farmers off. Anyways i ended up with 483 of em, sold a stack of 250 for 175g and a stack of 233 for 150g. Nice little side profit for all my hard farming.

At the moment I am getting HUGE numbers of these very quickly and easily, at atleast double the speed of any farming technique I have seen. The only problems is it relies on a) Stealth and b) High Fire Resistance to solo. It could however be done by 2 well equipped people almost as fast I rekon, stealth or not.

1) Enter Blackrock Depths, take the left hand door (requires BRD key) and assassinate the fire elemental there. Take the first right and then open the garrison door, slaying the fire elemental patrol there. Do not open the shadowforge lock!

2) Head up the stairs, killing the fire elemental patrol if its around and head up into the arena, stealth round to the far side and into the coridor with the statue used in the key quest.

3) Head out towards the bridge to the barracks but be very careful, theres a pack right at the end that sometime has a dog in it. There are 4 potential positions that the dog can stand, 2 of them are safe if you hug the opposite wall, the third theres no way to pass, the final I have not seen yet. If its in the impossible position a rogue can risk a vanish, but it may be safer just to ignore the next step and head back.

4) Head onto the bridge and kill the patrol when its about halfway across (do not go too far to the other side or you will start the event where a patrol approaches the bridge from either side. Once he's down kill the 2 near the door you entered from, before stealthing to the far side. The patrol event mentioned above will start, and the mobs will meet in the center of the bridge and stay there. Wait for them to pass, kill the 2 elementals on the far side then backtrack totally and return to the garrison with the Shadowforge lock.

5) Head deeper into the dungeon and jump out of the window at the point where you cross the shadowforge gate (which should still be locked to you). When down below head towards incendius and you will see 4 packs of 2 elementals. Kill them all. Take incendius if you are able to solo him, failing that just stealth past him for a final two, thats us just about done.

6) Head back the way you've just come and go through the forge gate and onto the Dark Iron Highway. There are 2 elementals patrolling here you can kill if you're feeling brave (destealthing on highway is risky) or follow them to the end by Bael'Gar where there is a clear spot to kill them. After this simply head for the exit thats just off the highway, reset the instance and start again.

This all takes about 15 mins so you can do so constantly without having to wait for the reset timer to go down every hour. An average run for me yields...

15-40 Core of Elements
10-25 Dark Iron Scraps

You also get elemental fires and heart of fires which are useful if you're in a raiding guild who needs a lot of Greater Fire Protection Potions. On average I get 4 turnins an hour from Elements and 1-2 from Dark Iron scraps, very fast but of course you can only get Dawn tokens, but you can always swap with a friend for some Crucade handin materials!

I am a feral druid currently with 329 self buffed fire resistance, but a rogue friend of mine with about 195 FR tried this technique and was able to do it, though a little slower. I think below 150 FR it may become a little too hard.

thats the perfect way to farm those, a warlock can also do the farming easily,alone. If your good a warlock could also just solo incendius also, and you really dont need any fire resistance at all.

I like getting them from the fire elementals in Un'goro crater (Fire Plume Ridge, center of map to be exact). I get lots of other stuff from these things that are worth bundles, plus I get to watch for soil at the same time.

If you guys say Un'goro has the best drop rate...man I feel bad for those of you who went to other palces. I got a good solid 15ish in a row, then they jsut literally stopper for 30-45 mins, then they slowly came back. It was even harder for me since I am fire spec, I had to use Fire Ward and Frostbolt and sometimes Arcane missles.

Core of Elements are still accepted by Argent Dawn at Hope's Light Chapel in EPL. You can still exchange 30 of them for a single Insignia of the Dawn, and +10 AD rep.

You can also turn in 30 Dark Iron scraps for them.

30 Savage Fronds will grant your choice of a Dawn or Crusade token.

30 Bone Fragments, or 30 Crypt Fiend Parts can be turned in for Crusade tokens.

AH it - there are always folks looking for AD faction and the easiest 5 resistance enchants in the game (9g, and you can buy them endlessly, depending on which resist you need at the time).

Well as a small tip, dropsrate in un'Goro sucks ass... Trying Silithus tomorrow.

Edit: Silithus is better, about 1/3 droprate. And the templars also drop them, in amount of 3. (Or well, all 4 I killed dropped 3)

water elementals seem to be farmed in my server fairly often, but I can jack a few kills from others, about 1in3 drop rate for water eles in EPL for me. Not bad

Try elementals in BRD, in front of Incendius. Soloable with decent gear.

These drop fairly often off of elementals in DM. While not the best choice for soloing, if you have a group that's willing to donate the Cores to you, this is faster than grinding elementals out in the world.

Try DM West, go to Immoltharr's Prison, kill all the elementals in there, rinse/repeat. You can easily get 250+ in a few hours of farming with a group.

Used a day or so(5-6 hours) and got into a good rythm farming the dust stormers for these.. After 6 hours, I had a stack(250) of cores, 24 Essence of Air and 40-odd Breath of wind and elemental air -- made about 140g on just the essences, not counting 5-6 greens worth about 15g :)

If you're not getting any on the dust stormers, I'd suggest the rock elementals further up the valley, tho they're slower to kill for melee.. They drop stuff, tho :p

Why NOT to farm these in Felwood:
A lack of mobs is a good argument.. A decent geared 60(even a druid) can farm the water elementals in Felwood and risking downtime because there aint enough mobs..
Plus, the place will be more crowded because of players levelling(they're quest mobs) and the stompers(for Savage Fond)..

So my 5 cents for farming those AD insignias are wind elementals in Silithus and crypt mobs in Terrorweb Tunnel(NW EPL, tunnel between Terrordale and Thondoril River) :) (I'm a feral druid, which means I can go non-stop for hours on end in these places once I get a good rythm)
