This is a newly added item in Patch 1.7. For people who have already recieved the "Seal of the Dawn", it can be replaced by destroying the item and speaking with the Argent Dawn near the chapel in EPL.

Just speaking with her will not allow you to trade it in, you have to destroy yours first and you will recieve the Rune of the Dawn.

The 'Seal' that this replaces had a huge attack bonus for melee - not that useful for casters, this solves that imbalance.

this item is a reward for the quest, The Active Agent in EP. you don't have to destroy your old badge to get it. it's clutch if you are building Argent Dawn rep.

I'm a pally and I'm about to start getting one of these, thing I'm wondering is, which will be better for my Healadin spec? I hit the undead ALOT with excorcism and holy shock, but that's about all magic I do to them. Will this +48 damage proc with the seal of righteousness holy damage though? Cause if it does I'll just judge of wisdom them and switch straight to my righteousness and start tearing them apart.

You are correct sir.

In fact, my guild decided to do some quick 5 man runs (all kinds of weird combos of 70s just to make it interesting) of strat so every dps'er has one of these. My favorite was 2 holy, 2 shadow priests and a druid. We also did a full dps group with no tank or healing (bandages and cannibalize ftw) that went real quick too. Then we had a 3 shammie, 2 pali run. I wasn't there for that one but I heard it was also quite fun.

For Moroes fight, the 2 hours you spend doing this quest and the one before it (at 70) is well worth it.

Passive: Increases damage done to Undead by magical spells and effects by up to 48. It also allows the acquisiton of Scourgestones on behalf of the Argent Dawn.

I have the same question. Is holy damage considered magical?

I found it interesting that acquiring this trinket does not destroy the original AD trinket. Wondering if this is intentional or not.

Wouldn't it be nice if equipping both this and the original had some effect on drop rates, etc.

I might be way off-base with this but I thought I'd ask anyway. Does anyone know if the effect on this applies to PC Undeads (as in the Horde race)? Just thinking, that'd be pretty handy in BG's.

Okay, the secret is: You need to destroy your Seal of the Dawn first, then Betina will have the options to replace it with either a Seal or a Rune, as the patch notes say.

Almost a +50 bonus against undead per spell is fairly significant. Your Strat UD runs will be that much smoother.

I chose Rune of the Dawn. If I want the Seal of the Dawn later on, am I able to destroy the Rune and take the Seal? If we are able to switch these, how many times can we do it?

On Classic, if you die while wearing this trinket, you have to re-equip it to get the argent dawn commission effect.

In Classic, if you delete this you can get a replacement from Betina. You will get to choose between spell power one and attack power one again.

For pure healers in Strat and Scholo, this is no better than the baseline non-stat Argent Dawn trinket. Rune of the Dawn only buffs spell damage against undead, something healers won't be doing much/any of in-instance anyway. For DPS casters it is obviously an upgrade; for healers, not.
