Honor hasnt been nerfed much if it has....Playing from 5pm to 9pm the other day I got 3k honor, so 22,500 is definately easier than is used to be (grand marshal used to take months while the new honor system would probally only take about a week). A week or two of honor grind is incredibly easier than raiding AQ or Naxx and competing with other rogues for drops...not to mention it's tough to even get into an AQ or Naxx guild and qualify for being taken on the runs.

This is one of the best daggers in the game available to players pvp and pve. I am currently planning to main hand it with Maex's Fang in my offhand for a mutilate build. With its high top end damage it makes an amazing mutilate weapon, I see Maex's Fang and the GM dagger as one of the best combos in the game for mutilate (Kingsfall, Death's Sting being the only better daggers to use)

Although I am still having a toss up between which dagger to MH and OH, GM dagger has slightly higher top end yet maex's fang has better DPS, just something to play with I guess.

I just grabbed it this morning before server matience, so now just waiting on a maex's fang to drop and use.

After the recent honor "nerf" it takes a bit longer to achieve Grand Marshal Weapons. However, it still is fun to do :)

I got two of these after the honor changes. I was untouchable by the end of our MC raid on the damage meters with my Mutilate build. That's *MC*...the place where half the stuff is immune to poisons.

No more honor rank requirement. Just farm yourself 20 AB tokens and 22,500 Honor points for one of these.

Outside AQ40/Naxx, this is the best you can get for the new Mutilate rogues.

I think the Naxx and AQ40 daggers are at the very least on par. But since I can grind honor points for these, it saves my arse DKP for Bonescythe :-)

Started pvp after first honor update, at 02.00 and pvp'd for 22 hours. I made 18K honor in that time, i think about 14 hours was premade. We did go AB all the time, so i guess if you got a good premade, its accutally possible to make this in one day, IF you play 20 hours a day, atleast that day :)

you dont HAVE to do AB to get honor points. a couple AV defenses will give you quite a bit of honor. kills give you points too. if you kick some ass (and unfortunately lose too) you still get some honor either way.

but it is easier to get in a group and kick ass and cap *!@# all the way to the top.

btw i got this the other day and am workin on another for DW. BS' hit for around 1.4-1.7k and i nailed an ambush for 2485. (poor mage) this is the best dagger pre C'thun and if your guild is running MC+ instances this is an absolute MUST for ALL DAGGER ROGUES it is BETTER AND EASIER TO GET than Perdition's Blade

Though they nerfed the honor gain in the recent update its still incredibly easy to get this. I am a level 59 rogue and I already have full blue pvp set with this baby and a lobo. The point is that im 59 and have pvp blue and epics for 60's showing how easy it is to get the new pvp iteams. Once I get 60 ill be going with my guild to pre-form AB and work on marshal gear.. Well to get back on the topic,spend a complete day dedicated to pvp'ing on a extra honor weekend and you should have this in a day or two(preferably AV weekend).

Doesn´t it depend on what lvl you are, how you´ve spended talent points and the armor on your target, how much dmg you are doing?

Can anyone please explain the easyest way to get honor points?

I have only played this game for 3½ mth, so I guess i´m a so called noob :-)

Have been in AB and WSG at lvl 39 and 49, getting most items for those lvl´s, and think 22500 honor points sounds like a hard job.
Now i´m lvl 59 (rogue)

Well u get more honor at, for example, lvl 60. So doing AV at lvl 60 would give some honor (wins are honor giving :)... I think that dagger would last until lvl 65 or higher, if there isnt any better dagger dropps from instances in outland.

The quests doesnt give any better dagger until The Ring Of Blood Quest in Nagrand... so I will buy the dagger for sure

Ok got the Dirk this morning. Heres what i've seen. I flew out to the hinterlands while i was waiting to get into AV (ive been in the hinterlands more than anywhere else in the game so i though it would be a good place to judge the dagger. I 2 shot the wolves there, and that has never happened (they have suprisingly tough armor) Backstab crit for over 1000 and Ambush was about 400 higher than BS. . . . .. I finally get into AV and ambush crit on a shadow priest so high that it removed all of their absorb damage plus hit them for 500! I took a 56 hunter out in 2 shots and a 59 warlock out in 2 shots as well. Conclusion: This thing will not one hit kill an equal lvl in PVP but it will let whoever your fighting know that you are a dangerous rogue and should not be screwed with. one more thing . . after about 10 min into the AV a 58 priest and a 58 hunter saw me standing in open field unstealthed ALONE and ran away. This dagger is cool.

WEll i''ve been 70 for a while now and i had this in my mh forever, fact is. this is the best ambush weapon around before you go to kara etc. fact is ambush is still speed based. a fast dagger with higher top end dmg will do LESS in ambush, like Ced's carver totaly sucks compared to this... strange blizz said they would do something about the slow dagger higher dmg things but o well.. ques i will just keep this baby a little longer

o and armory me indicia , top end dmg with ambush around 3600 +- dmg

I got this baby at level 39 on my (ex) twink rogue, this is easy to get for people who have nothing better to do than go on there twinks all day... also got gladiator's shoulders and r 13 shoulders on my rogue ;)

Hah, don't make me laugh, a whole 1% of server population can get to Grand Marshall and to stay there they would have to do nothing but pvp forever. So even if you get it, your then a slave to pvp because otherwise you can't use it.

Ragnaros is a simple enough fight now that any competent MC raid group takes down weekly. Within months you will see the ragnaros drops become increasing common, as common as anything from MC.

This however will always be in the hands of only rogues that are in the top 1% per server, which is anywhere from 0-maybe 6 on the biggest servers.

firstly... this dagger is not "gettable" in any sense of the imagination... i am willing to bet that maybe 1 rogue get's to grand marshal on my server... and that's with extreme luck...

secondly... BS and ambush don't care about speed for $%^&... it's all about the damage of the weapon... recheck perdition's stats... it's damage range is from 73 to 137... that's from 6 less to 17 more than this... so perdition's average dmg is 105 whereas this dagger's average dmg is 99.5... perdition averages 5.5 more damage per hit... making it better for ambush and BS

thirdly... perdition hits faster... faster = shorter fight... i don't know many rogues that like a 10 minute fight... i know i sure as hell don't... i would take perditions in a split second over this dagger with or without pvp rank requirement

yes this is a dagger on the level of perdition's blade... not for the reasons given bc the reasons of BS/ambush and "more gettable" are bull#$%^... it comes close because of it's bonuses... the +12 attack power isn't great... +2 damage per weapon if lucky... the +6 stamina = approx 60hp is so-so not great but not bad and the +1% crit is a great stat... but i already crit fairly often... so an additional 1% chance really won't matter much... it is a great dagger as it should be after all it is epic... but unrealistic to get it, and maintain the ability to use it. this dagger is definitely one of the top 2 but it is not in anyway much better than perdition's... i would say tied with perdition's at best and more likely a close second to perdition's.

also i would argue that Gutgore Ripper with an average damage of 91 would be a good choice if it's proc fires enough to make it worth it... there are several really good epic daggers for rogues in end game... atleast 2 of which drop in MC and several others in high lvl instances that your guild could easily run if u can kill ragnaros in MC.

(average damage = speed x dps or (min + max)/2)

also... no one whose main is a lvl 37 pallie should be talking about daggers and how they compare to others... especially after calling it "gettable"... if this is "gettable" then ur not a n00b...

now all we need is a legendary dagger...
but on second thought if we do get it more players will try to tell me how much better this dagger is... or how much more gettable the legendary and this are than 2 epics...

If you Reach GM and buy a GM weapon, you can use it when you lose your rank.
Do you really think they would make it so you had to stay GM to use it... think about how many people would simply not PVP if this was the case

Rumours are that after 1.6 patch pvp items ranking requirements will be checked agains HIGHEST LIFETIME RANKING. meaning if you drop a rank you can still use it.

I know this dagger is like really hard to get mean really hard but when u think about it it's worth it because not only do u get teh dagger u also get the full epic set armor if u buy it for a great price and as monkey jay said if it is accordin to highest lifetime rank then u could get it and stop pvpin if u want, so if u ever can get this dagger do and get the full set then u will have teh best gear in teh blepin game for ur class
all u need then r some really good enchants
personnally if i did get teh grandmarshal gear i would spend like 100 - 150 g just on enchants like gettin teh best enchants possibly cause u won't need new gear.

for all u idiot's saying this isnt the best MH dagger in the game... it IS GM/HW dagger is the best MH dagger followed by perditions, have a look at the base dmg which is what maters, THIS DAGGER HAS ALOT MORE! speed dont matter anymore since they changed it so that the attack power is multiplyed by 1.7 instead of actual speed. however this ISNT the best offhand dagger corehound tooth still takes the crown of that, if u match perditions against this i think ull find that on BS and ambush (which are INSTANT attacks so it dont matter how fast the dagger is and if u think perdtions hitting a little more often so it does more dmg hence its better... ur wrong and if u sit there with it on auto attack and not use any skills ur an idiot) it hits ALOT harder ive watched videos with this hitting constantly for 1700+ on BS and 2800+ on ambush, this against ANY class... they are gonna go down fast 1 on 1 unless they are also rank 14 or have their teir 2 BWL gear aswell

jeese. i should have been horde. alliance never ever wins any bgs in hellscream. it must be easy to be horde. in an entire day of pvp i can only get about 15k honor. and that is 8-9 hours of pvp. the only time we ever win is when we have 10 players and they have 3.i dont ever see myself gettin to GM

Personaly, i think mutilate is a waste of talent points. Instead of getting prep or something else you get a move that does somewhere around 300-500 more damage than backstab, on a double crit. And you only get those if you're lucky or have cold blood up. And, unless you're DW'ing GM daggers or gm dagger and periditions blade (Or better) it's not a good spec. I tried it with gm dagger and CHT and it was pretty disapointing. Not to mention that if you're raiding or in a party and fighting against something immune to poisons, you're not doing as much peak damage as a backstab rogue. This is only my opinion and something for people to think about.

The thing with this dagger isn't that it can do teh best damage but it's actually gettable. Take a dagger like Perdition's Blade, it has a one in four drop of Ragnaros so you have a week MC reset(I believe) then if you are lucky you win the roll against the other rogues/dagger users there, if you are against 5 rogues then you could have to wait 20weeks to get it! The same goes for Heartseeker - by no means is it the best but it's gettable.

maybe, but pretty much rogues with thiss daggers are 41/?/? specced thus having mutilate and for mutilate u need 2 dagegrs, and guess what? this are some of the best daggers u can get of ure not doing aq40 and especially naxx

don't forget there are also players who dont got time for raids , they only play 2 hours a day, for them this is the perfect solution

For leveling Mutilate is a GREAT spec, I am DW-ing two of these and I can burn through single mobs up to my level +2 with no downtime, only when I get multiple adds do I need to eat/bandage.

This is the best dagger until group quest rewards near 70. My advice for anyone with a rogue that is about to go from 60-70 is play AV from levels 59 and on, get your 24k honor or whatever you need for two of these and get them. Then respec from full Sub (very good PvP spec for that bracket) to Mutilate + the rest of your points in Sub for 5/5 Opportunity and 3/5 MoD. It will make leveling and instances a breeze for at least for the first 5 levels in the Outlands, and probably all the way to 70.

Yeah this may be a great dagger and all, most likely the best in the game pre-Blackwing. Dragonfang IMO is better. May have a lot lower damage range, but 16 agility and 13 stamina is awesome for a weapon. Plus 15 agility, and you've got a 31 agility mainhand. 1% crit, 31 attack power, 2% dodge, yeah, thats a nice piece of equipment.

Dragonfang would be nice to offhand with this, but Grand Marshal is near impossible for most. And no one has seen the other BWL dagger yet. Expect it to be a mainhand, and a good step above this.

oh and yes the agil and stam on dragonfang are nice but 1% crit + attack power and 15 agil chant is alot better, u dont need dodge coz u shouldnt be getting hit that much. if u had GM/HW dagger + corehound tooth fights end very fast.

but belive me, it takes more than just 4 or 5 hours a week to have a nice trip through mc =)
i reached this baby 2 weeks ago and since rank 12 i had to play 24/7.
the time factor plays a role if u have a look at the range of time u can get for example the ragnaros dagger or the grand marshal's one. but in fact u have to play for the first dagger about 5hours a week, for the second at least 10h/day.

anyways, in my opinion it was worth the time ^^

I think that the best combo for a human rogue (before Burning Crusade anyways) is this dagger for main hand and Grand Marshal's Swiftblade for the off-hand, instead of dual dirks. The sword is a little faster which is a good thing for the off-hand and humans have +5 swords.

Of course if you go 5/5 talent points on dagger specialization, dual dirks are better.
