Alot of people will argue that the ZHC is better than the ToEP, which is true in some cases, however-

This is a great healer trinket. Above all else, priests, shamans, and druids should be looking at this over mages and warlocks because they will benefit greatly out of the +healing. For warlocks and mages...

I think ToEP is better for warlocks. We cast spells fast, in succession, I.E DOT's, searing pain, conflag, ETC-

For fire mages, they're going to be hitting hard and fast too. When you take this into effect, and the fact that ToEP is arguably easier to get too, it's a better caster damage trinket overall, in my opinion.

Actually, since the last nerf to the ZHC (from 280 to 200 spell damage), the ToEP has regained his superior title. You could argue that the extra 25 spell damage you get on the first spell helps with burst damage, but past the first cast, the ToEP will net you more damage than the ZHC.

Good news tho, is that the ZHC is much easier to acquire than the ToEP, regardless of your class.

Great for consistent damage. Warlock and mage preference. Used to be awesome when it stacked with the ZHC, but was nerfed in patch 1.11 i believe.

in BC, there are meny better: Icon of te Silver Crescent, Scryers Bloodgem for example.

Dropped off of Garr a few weeks ago...

And only myself, one other mage, and a priest rolled for it. The priest won the roll (had a few more points then I did) but he deffered it to me as he felt a mage would get more out of it.

I was ecstatic and he was happier for it as he got his epic shoulders later in the raid.

For those of you who have asked, yes this does increase damage on AoE spells and channeled spells. I've seen the damage on my Arcane Missiles jump from 211 a missile to 248 a missile with this in effect and the damage from my scorches has jumped up into the 500's with 700+ crits.

It is a beautiful thing.

90 second cool down means I can use it every fight and sometimes a few times when battling against destroyers and lava packs. I thoroughly reccomend it for any damage caster...

First, let me say that I think Mages and Warlocks should have equal priority on this.

That being said, a Warlock can get a lot more benefit out of ToEP than a Mage can, if they're smart.

The reason for this is simple:

ToEP gets applied to every DoT tick that occurs while it is active.

This means that a Warlock can apply a bunch of DoTs to a mob, THEN activate ToEP, and EACH DoT will tick higher.

If a Warlock cast all three DoTs on a single target:
Each CoA tick gets +22 (average)
Each Corruption tick gets +29
Each Immolate tick gets +18 (I think)

Since each one of these will tick five times while ToEP is active, you'll actually get +345 more damage out of just these three DoTs!

I use the Talisman of Ephemeral Power in combination with the Zandalarian Hero Charm and Arcane Power to max out my dmg for soloing lvl 55-60 elite mops. My mage ist 32/19 arc/frost and has 6 parts of the netherwind set + staff of dominance (so normal gear if you're doing raids a long time ^^). My frostbolts hit normally for 800-840 dmg non crit. Here comes the really nice thing about these trinkets:

Activate Hero Charm, Talisman and Arcane Power -> if you're lucky first frostbolt will hit for 3000-3200 dmg critical (non crit 1500-1600), use POM (POM = next spell instant) and press you're thumbs for another crit with 2900-3100 dmg :)

You will have really nice dps with this combination . It's 500-600 dps without crits and up to 1300 dps with crits (and I speak about dps on a single elite mop - not AOEing) for a timeslot of 12-17 seconds.

In other words an arc/frost mage can solo nearly ANY elite mop in WoW with these trinkets :)

So, if you guys are smart - give it to a mage

Just got it on my mage and couldn't be happier.
The cooldown is awesome, and its approxiamtely a 20dps increase (or so my mod says)..brinding by dps with frostbolts from 302 to 323 (something around that)..

Now just need more dmg gear =)

With 1.10 it's no longer possible to activate ToEP and ZHC together. Each of them will trigger a cooldown which lasts as long as the +Dmg/Heal buff is active.
So: Another nerf to insane crits. (.. along with -resistances from 'lock debuffs)

I can tell you that a priest can get just as much out of this trinket as any other caster. I am shadow spec and dps in end game raids and this is a great addition to my damage. Along with that it also improves my healing when the time comes that I need to help. I really don't think anyone can say that this should not go to other casters besides mages/locks. +to damage and healing is enough for me to bid on this iteam because I get the benefit of both.

Don't need to use ZHC with this to make it good, it already is by itself. I just use it with a Briarwood Reed for massive damage. I'm landing 1k Frostbolts with it up (though that's not all that great compared to what fully BWL-geared Mages would do).

If you're like me and hate activating trinkets just wrap the trinket up in your normal fireball casting with a Macro. If you make a macro to cast Combustion, ToEP, and then Fireball, you will always have Combustion up and your ToEP will always be up. They might not always be maximized to work together, but in time they will meet in the middle and deliver a wallop. I think the biggest problem is always forgetting to activate your ToEP or thinking too hard about when to use it. Don't stress about it!

By ensuring that ToEP and Combustion are ALWAYS up, come hell or high water, you will see huge gains on the meters. You can turn off the error speech that your toon will say when the trinket/spell isn't ready, too, in case that drives you crazy.

This trinket is undoubtably better than ZHC. I find the 15 seconds it is active for is usually just enough for trash pulls, and the 90 second cooldown makes it usable several times during a boss fight. A lot of boss fights are stop and go DPS, so this really helps dish out the damage during open fire. With arcane missiles the ZHC consumes charges with every blast, making this a clear winner for mages. Also, warlocks can do instant-cast DOTs while it's up and affect 10 targets with the the full +dmg. The relative damage over time is almost the same as ZHC if you are only spamming Fireballs or Shadowbolts, but instant cast spells or arcane missiles will consume ZHC much too quickly. This is a very RARE MC drop. On average it will only drop once every 10 MC clears. Good luck getting it.

I agree that mages have every right to spend dkp on it but warlocks get the most out of damage gear, that's not my opinion, that's math. Dots give the most direct benifet from damage, and ruin muiltiplies its effect.

( The 10000 crits would be a once in a lifetime and with berserking in bg ;)

The trinked does NOT have a 2 minute cool down. Its a 90 second cooldown. (buff timer shows 2 minutes cause it rounds up). This is a great trinket.

Best part about this trinket for a warlock is that you can use it for the damage bonus AFTER you apply your dots. So you can get huge numbers hitting over peoples heads for 15 seconds after you've completed dots on everyone.

It's really not that bad, you can use one right after the other. I did that half the time before the patch. However, once I have Nethalon's Tear I will dump TOEP.

im not for the horde normally but get this trinket and a troll and youll own if you havent already berserking FTW. btw shaman(frost shock ftw pve) and pallys should be deleted forever they dont do alot of dps and they cant tank they can heal and pallys can sheild. but i do like the buffs and stuff but thats it.

Got this trinket a couple of nights ago in MC off Garr for my Paladin. I know what you're thinking; caster item, right? Every 90 seconds for 15 seconds my seal of command, holy strength heals, and other procs as well as heals/exorcism etc hit for up to +175. Oh yeah, it makes holy shield block for 94-105 dmg instead of 50 ^^ Too bad it doesn't impact retribution aura QQ

it is best in the hands of mages/locks in the beginning, as it will help out the raid most. lets face it, only mages/locks are going to be DPSing during the raid, not shamans or priests or druids. and if you wanna make the case for healing, go kill Drak in UBRS and get the Draconic Infused Emblem which ives +190 healing for 15 seconds...its a lvl 58 blue and its BETTER than ToEP for healers, and its also alot more common and easy to get.

so please, leave this to the mages and warlocks first.

Yep, I got this. Im elemental shaman with almost all gear in spell crits.
Right after used it 1st time, my shock/lightning records rised significally. Chain lightning crited for around 1700 while shocks never hit lower then 600 (up to 1400 if crited).
During 15 seconds I can shoot 3 chains (1 with NS) and 2 shocks. With good crits (and I crit often) it adds around 1000 damage on single target and more then 1500 if used on crowd.
As cooldown is 1.5 min, I can use it in every pvp encounter and often 2 times in a row.
Should I remind that crusader enchant heals much better under trinket effect?

I can kill caster in 2 seconds with this. Shock crit for 1400 and NS+chain crit for 1700 = game over.

got this on my mage a couple of nights ago... was hoping it would make me better at AE, but it seems to not work with multiple enemies. Amazing for single enemy fights though.

I wish I could go back to Arc/Fire though... this + arcane power + presence of mind + pyroblast + a quick fireblast = ownage.

This thing simply owns. It will last you through all of raid content and right into TBC.

It doesnt stack with the draconic infused emblem from UBRS, no +damage trinkets stack anymore.

Got this baby for my druid last Friday. Beat out a couple mages on it. <3 DKP

This is the best fricking caster trinket in the game. The fact that it is healing AND damage make it supremely a druid item, secondary a mage/priest/warlock item. I would much rather see druids with this getting 4k crit heals (I get that much, at least) then a mage ripping agro from a 4k crit damage (Example, not fact).

This trinket is extremely nice, with a cooldown of only 2 minutes it feels like there isn't a cooldown at all if you don't pay attention to it. I always keep this equipped and never move it out save for lava pack pulls when I use flame reflector + DM trinket. <-UD warlock

I'm a fire mage and I killed a lvl 60 warrior with 2 crit spells (fireball 1650 dmg and fireblast 1100 dmg) + ignition using this trinket.

2750 + 1100 ignition = 3850 ... not bad for 3 secs casting :D.

Just picked mine up last night, have to say that 1600 dmg non-crit shadowbolts are definately sweet, recommend it for any caster that wants to kick ass. (or melt faces (unless the rumor about shadowform is true))

just got mine last night! wasn't expected 'cause it's reasonably rare, but it dropped off of geddon and damn this thing is nice.. improved my shadowbolts quite a bit for the rest of MC, they were hittin for about 1200-1400 normally which is pretty good since my gear isn't the greatest... but definitely a great trinket.

It says it has a 2min cooldown. But I took a stopwatch and found out it only has a 1 min and 30 sec cd. So you have the +spell dmg effect every 1 min and 15 sec.

Got this the other night. I was surprised to learn it doesnt share the same cooldown and actually stacks with Blessed Prayer Beads (the priest quest reward). So alone, this trinket is nice for PvE/PvP, but stacked with prayer beads, I can get some nice flash and renews off.

I noticed this was mentioned in passing already, but I thought I'd confirm it a little more.

BTW, it was a joint raid on MC with an other guild, and we were rolling on stuff, no DKP. In a normal guild raid I never would've spent DKP on this. Its nice.. very nice, but its even nicer for our mages (which there was only one of, and against a !@#$load of non-guild warlocks and mages, I didnt expect to win the roll).

For those of you that think that is impossible, you are correct most of the time. Crits like that are only possible on certain mobs in BWL that are very vonerable to specific magic schools

Why is some greedy loser allways coming up with a half baked reason why something is better for his class than other classes that use it?

Turning the half baked logic around, it's better for shaman than for other other healers because shaman can do more damage with it and it's better for shaman than mages/locks because shaman can use it to heal with too.

The reality is it's good for all casters. People need to learn to stop being so greedy and stop inventing lame excuses to try and prevent others from rolling on things just because you want them for yourself.

This is my favorite item ever! I am a 60 mage and I use this all the time (Only 1 min. 30 sec. cooldown) this makes a hueg difference and it kills my target so fast... If you are a Mage/Warlock... USE YOUR DKP ON THIS AND NOT YOUR TIERS!

i love this thing...

the first thing i did was i was out of MC was to go to the bank and put on all my +dmg gears.

i have about +250dmg with my gears so my frostbolts do an average of 600dmg.
i went out of IF and killed the first thing i saw .... (what's up doc? FROSTBOLT)

i activated the trinket and i crit for my NEW hiest ever crit of 1376dmg...

i am one happy mage

oh, fyi btw, this item has a 2min cooldown (as of patch1.7) and this droped from boss #4 in MC

I got this recently :) I have it combined with zandalarian hero charm, and a bit over +400 in dmg equipment, these babies combined just pwn. When I turn them both on, my non crit shadowbolts do around 1400-1800dmg sometimes even over 2k. Our bolt span is a lot wider then with mages, so it can be anywhere in that range, and also depends wether CoS is on a mob or not. On account of some previous posts this is definetly mage/lock item first, and saying that mages or locks should have prio over it, is just plain bs. Its a nuker trinket, so any dmg wise caster should be able to invest their DKP in it :)
