Blizzard decided to revert it back due to mass complaints by Mages. Although it wasn't because 0.15s off poly was bad. It's because...

Warlock: 4 pieces: Reduces the casting time of your Fear spell by 0.2 sec.
Mage: 4 pieces: Reduces the casting time of your Polymorph ability by 0.15 sec.

Was visible proof Blizzard loves warlocks more.

Well.
Let me point out something. Mages got blink and sheep bonus. I personally do not count them as aggressive, damage dealing spells. Warriors got intercept which is quite harmful.
The other differences are that e.g. druids in some forms can not be sheeped. They can be intercepted tough.
If you cast sheep 3 times the target gets immune. If I got intercept 3 times I have to pray not to get the 4th one (well for most of the mages have stamina/health I'd say, intercept, mortal strike, hit, hit, gnome down :)
I also disagree with the "With this set bonus, it's 2.35s" statement. Rogues never hit you once in 2.5 secs... And they do it from behind...
In the other hand... It is much easy to get 1,2,4 other player for regular arena than other 9 for regular raiding. If you compare this set with the aldor set (which is a raid set designed for PvE) you may think that Arena sets are easy to get and not that much worse in PvE than you though at the first sight. So in Arena set you may join a raid but in Aldor set you will find it strange that you get owned by someone who actually has that extra 139 resilience :)

Tempest/vengeful (diff)
armor 993 / 1903 (+910) - in PvE mages should be untouchable
stamina 159 / 279 (+120) - more hp = survival
intellect 179 / 103 (-76) - almost -2% on crit, a lot of mana will be missing.
spirit 130 / 0 (-130) - you will be trouble for long fights as you have to use potions much frequently
healing 278 / 219 (-59) - every bit counts.
damage 278 / 219 (-59) - quite a difference
crit 121 / 129 (+8) - +0.4% crit chance
spell hit 66 / 0 -(-66) you will miss a lot more often
spell penetration 18 / 0 (-18)- spells do a bit less damage
sockets 1m5y3b / 1m2r3y1b - the PvP set supposed to be more damage/crit oriented.
resilience 0 / 135 (+135) - you will learn the difference

bonus: evocation,+5%dmg / +35resilience,-0.15 sec on polymorph

Get both if you have time and good guild. If you want to be noted in both words, get the arena set and replace some part of it with other epics for raids.
I'd appreciate if someone has both and can estimate here how much time, dkp and effort was to get both from 0 to full.

For those who don't know armor ranks very well, the three seasons of Gladiator's Armor correspond to the three tiers of BC raid armor. They share the same models, but are textured differently.

Vengeful Gladiator's Regalia corresponds with Tier 6 Tempest; Vengeful Gladiator's is colored red, orange, and gray, while Tempest is purple, brown, and white.

Hi, I play a 70 mage on Draka, named Oblivinati. I have 3/5 Vengful(Helm, Pants, Gloves) and I'm just saying that polymorph is probably one of mages most useful spells...especially in arena. I LOVE the 50% to not be interupted, and that .2 sec can be nice sometimes from set bonus. I do agree we should have a better set bonus and other classes always get way better bonuses.
-2 Seconds on blink? it's OK, but not great. I would rather have something like -2 seconds on Frost Nova or something. But in my opinion set bonuses don't matter much, especially if you have good gear and know how to play.

From a purely visual viewpoint, this has got to be the ass ugliest set in the game (except maybe the old Paladin Ronald McDonald set).

Seriously Blizzard, are your art designers smoking crack? Season 1 gear looks GREAT - the color scheme and the design of the shoulders are very complementary.

This set makes you look like you should be loaded onto a crossbow, or dipped in an inkwell.

Nowadays the 4 set bonus will give you 0.2 sec lesser cast time on polymorph
