Thanks for the sum ups. As a rerolled resto shaman coming in late in the game I might just get S1 gear and maybe skip to a future set. There's not a huge difference really. Good, but not huge.

The only big difference is the Healing, which is nice. But now S1 is a lot easier to get your hands on, and I'm sure if you manage the entire set, you could get better gear than S2 in SSC, The Eye, and so on.

One thing I can really recommend is putting your arena points in another set if you've got at least 4/5 season 1 resto parts. Getting yourself really good elemental/enhancement items can help you start off if you decide to change spec in the future, not to mention for farming and pvping (elem is godly) benefits :)

As resto I gathered up the full Honor-bought epic healing stuff, and I had 2 pieces of the S1 gladiator set before starting PvE. I found that my mp5 was extremely lacking for long boss fights and I needed to chug mana pots almost every time the cooldown was done. You can kind of solve this by getting mp5 gems and enchants, but while the set itself has o-k mp5 (such as the shoulders and chest) other items like the gloves and helm are totally inept for PvE, as are the belt, bracers and boots which go with this set.

Its by no means appaling for PvE healing, but many blue items with all their stats concentrated in healing and mp5 are much better than some of these items - 112 spell crit is a huge waste of stat points over 5 items really. Shamans be warned!

yes, every Gladiator set is a wannabe lookalike Tier, S1 = T4 S2 = T5 S3 = T6 S4 is the only thing thats new because there is no Tier 7, yet... all are the same as the Tiers, just different color
