Hellfire Peninsula Horde Leveling Quest Guide for Burning Crusade Classic

Welcome to Wowhead's TBC Classic guide to leveling efficiently in Hellfire Peninsula through questing as a Horde player. This guide details the level range, optional leveling path, important quest hubs, and best quest rewards to pick up in Hellfire Peninsula, the first zone most players will encounter on their journey in Outland.

Hellfire Peninsula in TBC Classic

is the first zone players will be introduced to in Burning Crusade Classic. It is home to Outland's Dark Portal, where every player will take their first step in Burning Crusade. Hellfire Peninsula has quests available at level 58 and offers quests up to level 63. Both the Alliance and the Horde have a city in Hellfire Peninsula as the first quest hub for both factions. For Horde, this will be Thrallmar.

Amongst Hellfire Peninsula's varied selection of enemies, adventurers will be introduced to the

, one of the most iconic enemies in Burning Crusade. In addition, you'll find the Draenei have a stronghold in Temple of Telhamat and the Blood Elves in Falcon Watch. In the northern portion of Hellfire Peninsula, at the Throne of Kil'jaeden, you'll also find

There is also World PvP Objectives in Hellfire Peninsula, the Hellfire Fortifications. Three Forts surrounding Hellfire Citadel, The Overlook, The Stadium, and Broken Hill. When all three are controlled, players of the controlling faction will gain the

buff, increasing all damage dealt by 5%.
Hellfire Peninsula Level Range
Hellfire Peninsula Quests Range from Level 58-63
The very first quest in Hellfire Peninsula takes place at the Dark Portal,

, which requires level 58. After speaking to the nearby flightmaster, players will fly to the first quest hub in the zone. For Horde players, you will fly to Thrallmar. After starting quests in the faction's stronghold, players will venture out into Hellfire Peninsula and explore the surrounding areas, to other quest hub regions.
Quests in Hellfire Peninsula range from Level 58 to 63, with many group quests in the Level 63 category. Group quests such as

, and many others. These Quests are doable at Level 60 or 61, while grouped up however. By doing most quests in Hellfire Peninsula, players can expect to be between levels 61 and 62, before moving on to Zangarmarsh.
Horde Leveling Path in Hellfire Peninsula for TBC Classic
After stepping through the Dark Portal, Horde players will be sent to Thrallmar, the Horde Stronghold in Hellfire Peninsula. Thrallmar quests are practically a necessity, to gain reputation with the

faction. You'll need Revered with Thrallmar to purchase the
if you intend to do Heroic Dungeons in Hellfire Citadel.
Quests in Thrallmar will send you to The Legion Front, nearby Forge Camps, and the Invasion Point north of Thrallmar. After completing quests in Thrallmar, Horde players will then venture to Spinebreaker Post, near the southern part of Hellfire Peninsula. There, players will complete quests in Zeth'gor, Expedition Armory, as well as a nearby Zeppelin Crash.
The western part of Hellfire Peninsula contains Falcon Watch, a Blood Elf stronghold and Cenarion Post, a small group of

Before heading into Nagrand, Horde players need to ensure they have some reputation with

faction. An easy way to kickstart this reputation is with a quest chain from Hellfire Peninsula, which starts with

. This quest chain will leave Horde players with enough reputation to immediately pick up quests in Garadar. If you don't have this quest chain completed, you can grind reputation on the Ogres in Nagrand in either the Burning Blade Ruins or the Laughing Skull Ruins.

are some of the available quest givers in Spinebreaker Post. Most of these quests here all require level 58, so you can obtain them fairly early after entering Hellfire Peninsula. This Quest hub will have players questing in areas such as Zeth'Gor, a crashed Zeppelin, the area south of Honor Hold, the Void Ridge, as well as Expedition Armory.

Most quests in the Falcon Watch quest hub require at least Level 60, meaning if players entered Hellfire Peninsula at level 58, they'll need to complete some of Thrallmar and Spinebreaker Post quests first. Certain quest rewards drop significant gear that will boost your leveling experience in TBC Classic. Here are some of the best items to obtain from Horde questing in Hellfire Peninsula for TBC Classic leveling.

These trinkets are incredibly powerful, especially for brand-new characters going through the Dark Portal for the first time. Especially for melee, Bladefist's Breadth is a really strong pickup, surpassing trinkets such as

in power. This applies to the spellcaster trinket and the tank trinket, providing a ton of value in a fairly easily obtainable trinket. Most of the quests in the Cruel's Intentions Quest Chain are must-do quests as is, so you'll get this trinket just by doing quests in Hellfire Peninsula!

Especially for players that don't have Ahn'Qiraj or Naxxramas gear, this is a fantastic chest piece for nearly every class. For players that are boosted characters, this is a must-have quest reward and not too difficult to acquire, only needing to group up for a couple of these quests.

Alongside the chest armor, there are a few other armor pieces we recommend grabbing:

While you won't see some of these on anyone's recommended list of items to pick up, the Destroyer's Mantle and Verdant Handwraps are really great pieces to pick up if they apply to your class.
Melee should be interested in the Studded Green Anklewraps, but only for solo questing purposes, as the Dodge Rating isn't that valuable in a Dungeon environment or a group environment, where there is a tank.
