On the Shadowlands 9.0 PTR, the Scourge Event event from Death's Rising has been brought back for more testing, and players seem to have noticed significant differences from the version that was first tested a couple weeks ago.

Scourge Ghouls are Much Weaker
According to
Reddit user Siggythenomad on the r/WoW subreddit
, the zombies from the Death's Rising event are now much weaker than their counterparts from a couple weeks ago!
Zombies now instantly die if they fall from higher than 10 yards. Jumping on an incline will deal 20% of their maximum health in damage.
Ghoul NPCs only stay alive for around a minute, with a maximum unconfirmed spawn cap of 14 zombies.
Ghoul NPCs can no longer attack either players or NPCs, so no more unwanted turning into zombies.
Players can only attack Ghoul NPCs if they are PvP flagged.
It is currently unknown if this is intended to be it for the entire event, or if Blizzard is trying to emulate how the Scourge Event went in Vanilla WoW and Wrath of the Lich King, where the Scourge Invasions started incredibly weak on the first week and progressively became stronger as weeks passed and Naxxramas/Wrath of the Lich King release dates got closer.
Plague Immunity for Exile's Reach Recruits
One of the biggest points of contention for the current iteration of the Scourge Invasion was that it heavily screwed up fresh recruits off of Exile's Reach - After you leave the island and emerge in Stormwind or Orgrimmar, you have a series of quests that require you to explore either city, find trainers and learn your first specialization.
However, streamer MrGM has found out that Exile's Reach recruits are now immune to the event, thanks to
Рекрут
! This debuff renders Exile's Reach recruits immune to zombie bites and blight effects.
This buff is currently only applied to characters that went through Exile's Reach - Allied Races or characters that went through the normal starting areas do not seem to receive it.
