The latest Overwatch map, Blizzard World, is filled with Warcraft references. The map just went up for testing on the PTR and we hopped on to highlight all the Warcraft details like toy Ashbringers and Green Hills of Stranglethorn! Check out our video below, as well as the map on the PTR, to see even more references to other Blizzard games.
Wouldn't it be fun to go to Blizzard World in person?
Blizzard
An amusement park celebrating the universes of Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo, Blizzard World is a brand-new hybrid Assault/Escort map. Charge the gates of Stormwind, sneak through the Nexus Experience, and guide the payload through areas filled with high ground, flanking routes, and environmental hazards. Grab some Blizzard-inspired snacks at the concession stand along the way!
The concept art of the theme park has many areas marked for Warcraft content: Blackrock Mountain, Darkmoon Faire, Siege of Orgrimmar, Moonwell, Stormwind (including Mage District and Stockades), Booty Bay, Flight to Duskwood, Moonwell, Stone Cairn Lake, Naxxramas, and Fargodeep Mine.
Upon entering the theme park, you'll find signs for the Darkmoon Ferris Wheel and Blackrock Mountain.
The Inn is decorated like a traditional Stormwind Inn, with familar tables, barrels, bottles, and chairs. There's also props tucked around like an Ashbringer! The walls are also decorated with Alliance and Horde posters.
After walking through the Inn, you'll find a replica of the entrance to Stormwind, complete with statues of Khadgar, Alleria Windrunner, General Turalyon, Kurdran Wildhammer, and Danath Trollbane.
The Stormwind section is arranged like the in-game city, down to the differently-colored roofs for each district.
In the Ancient Curios shop, you'll find souvenirs like toy
Martelo da Perdição
and
Crematória
, Blizzard shirts, and Alliance and Horde backpacks.
The Lost and Found Vikings features
Grande Espinhaço: Veredas
.
Leaving the building, you'll see a sign for Murloc Island in Stone Cairn Lake as well as the Flight to Duskwood ride.
The Flight to
Floresta do Crepúsculo
ride has
gryphon cars
and pictures of spooky Duskwood through the windows.
The Fargodeep Mine lets you ride a mining cart thorugh the instance, based on the Elwynn quest
A Mina Vailafundo
.
The
Snaxxramas
ride is spooky and green, but features Blizzard snacks like murloc lollipops and
Death Wings
.
The
Angra do Butim
area features a gigantic shark on the docks.
Murloc Island is in the Stone Cairn Lake, one of the early questing areas in Elynn Forest. Off to the side you can see the Gates of Orgrimmar, part of a ride themed after the
Cerco a Orgrimmar
raid, as well as the
Ferris Wheel.
