The first 50 players per region are awarded Mestre Pescador de Azeroth, which is needed for Pescador de Sucesso. Previously this was awarded to the top three players on each realm. (Note: personal observation indicates the number of players awarded the achievement may be higher, but the BlizzCon Q&A and initial yell from Caniço Iscaboa stated 50.)

The five grand prizes are unchanged, they are: Vara de Pescar de Arcanita, Anzol do Pescador-mestre, Anel Medonho do Pirata, Botas da Angra, and Protótipo de Linha de Pesca de Etérnio.

Formerly, only the 1st place winner had a shot at some of the prizes, but Evitarani commented on Wowhead that they were able to pick up the Vara de Pescar de Arcanita today without being in 1st place.

Q: Where did the Stranglethorn Fishing achievement go, and will it come back?
A: We are bringing it back in the future. We're aiming for 7.1.5, but do not take it as a promise. The new technology broke it, sharding made it so there wasn't a singular STV so people couldn't win. It's going to be regionwide--all of North America, maybe the first 50 players who turn it in will get the prize.
