I am on Illidan and I was 2800th in queue yesterday at 7:00PM. I waited two hours and I was at 1000. I eventually just gave up. Today I am getting my girlfriend to log me in two hours before I get off work so maybe I am logged in or have a small wait to play.

Ouch, I am not looking forward to this, been home since launch burning some accrued time off.
I will log in as soon as I get home, then see to dinner, work, even showering and pajamas. Should give me a solid 2.5 hours to see if the queue will let me in.
They announced in the hotfixes that they are raising the player cap and have announced a slew of free transfers from the highest of the high-pops. Hopefully the two and the "50 hours later" will help ease this.

Oddly enough I have had no problems what so ever logging in. I am on US-Daggerspine and I had to wait about 20 minutes on launch night at 12am. Other than that, I've gotten right in.

This depends
greatly
on your server's population. The smaller your "normal" population, the less likely you will have a queue. If you're queuing to get into the server on an average Thursday afternoon, I can imagine 2k+ queues being quite feasible.
