Easyiest way to farm copper if your horde is to just follow the mountain range around in circles, don't bother with trying to find the dots in the middle, a full walk around the mountain range will yield around 40bars of copper

The razor patches, that have the boar people, scattered through barrens also have a lot of copper mines near them. I found the mountain ridges to contain the most copper. I suggest downloading the mod Gatherer which saves the locations of mined nodes, this will help gathering ore in the future.

Along with being easy to farm, copper ore sells very well on the ah. NEVER make the ores into bar (unless you're doing it for skillups). Ores sell much better than bars because higher level players with some gold are too lazy to mine the ore themselves. So, they just go buy ours and make it into bars for skill ups. Both benefit!

Underwater is your friend. In the Oasises (on near WC and one near Ratchet) there is usually one copper node and one tin node. The tin node near ratchet will sometimes spawn silver as well.
At lower level they're great because you can also farm snapjaws and most of the things they drop sell for 1s plus and you can get clam meat which makes a tasty snack.

I've found that a good and rewarding place to farm is just around durotar outside of Orgrimmar, which I think is a lot easier that going to the barrens because, 1. there are higher levels in the Barrens, 2. Durotar has a lot more of it, and 3. if you are a just starting blacksmithing or engineering, it is easier than buying it off the auction house. Why waste 1-2 gold when you can farm it easily right outside and pick up a couple gems up while you are at it? You can go into Skull Rock and farm in there for a while, or you can just farm outside. I've farmed about 100+ copper in less than an hour with my level 11 rogue and, with rested, got a good amount of rested experience. Plus, if you are not going to use the copper, you can sell it in auction house or send it to another character to get his or her skill up.

As a horde, best way to farm copper is to run circles; barrens - durotar. Climb thru the mountain side of both places, I just did and I have 120 copper atm.

For Alliance, the best place would be Dun Morogh by a long shot. Particularly in the quarry Southeast of Ironforge.

The best place I have found for copper is Silverpine Forest in and around a cave that is full of 12-15ish spiders, The cave itself has about 3 veins and the surrounding hills usually has a decent amount too, everytime i go there i end up with about 40 copper ore in just under 10 min. Its definately worth checking out if you dont have a mount to run all over the barrens.

A really good place to get this (for horde) is in Eversong woods its all over and even better if you have mount ive seen them all over the place.

I have to say that the best farming for copper I've had so far for the Alliance was in Bloodmyst/Azuremyst isles. In just under an hour of farming I picked up 160 copper ore. And a few pieces of tin.

I've only mined it in Dun Morogh, but I can't imagine its much better anywhere else. I got 100 ore by doing a pretty quick run- start at IF, run around the northern range, till you get down to 24/52, then run through the range in the middle, then head over to the quarry (TONS there). Pretty easy way to make like 10g.

i dont know about the horde side but on the alliance side copper is over stocked in dun morough. my gnome engineering is already at 120 just by using the copper there and hes only at lvl 10. azuremyst isle also is good. there is a naga cave there with 3-4 veins that respawned for min very quickly. just mine the cave dry then head to odyseuss landing and back and the veins will have already respawned. used that place for my mining and also to farm so i could buy my mount.

I found a lot of Copper Veins in Elwynn.
So if you play as Alliance this is a smart route to take ( http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/4245/copperoretl8.png ). You may want to check the Fargodeep Mine aswell.
If you have a mount, you will be done in no time.

I must edit myself here. The Gol'Bolar Quarry in Dun Morogh is a much beter place to farm copper.

I got over 200 ore in an hour this way:

Go to Sludge Fen (It's in the Barrens) And from there go to Northwatch Hold. From there, curve around Wailing Caverns to Dreadmist Peak (It's the mountain northwest from Crossroads) and then back to Sludge Fen. Rinse and repeat. Just mine every node in the path and you'll get 150 ore in an hour easily.

I believe the Copper Vein maps need to be updated. I just found over 15 veins in the upper half of Durotar, yet the map only shows that there are 12 veins in Durotar total.

I suggest downloading the latest version of the Gatherer addon, and then download the www.wowhead.com/tbc database for ores/herbs/treasures. Works like wonders. You can find both the addon and the database at http://www.gathereraddon.com/dl/ You install both of them as a normal addon. Then u open up WoW and check at the "addon" button that they are working. Then you enter one of your characters and press the gatherer button at your minimap (right-click) then you press config. Then just bove the "HUD" tab you press the "Database tab" and import the data. How often are the maps updated?
I have the wowhead client and I know I've found a couple copper veins at least a week ago, but the wowhead map doesn't show them.

Mining Copper requires 1 skill level, and is the first ore in the Mining Profession.
After level 50, nodes become Green and will rarely level you up.
After level 100 skill, nodes become Gray and you will no longer gain skill level.

While trying to level up my Blacksmithing, I believe the best place for mining copper veins is "The Venture Co. Mine" in east central Mulgore. Assuming you can roam without too much aggro, the place repops nodes continuously.
