Quite a few of these guys patrolling around the ogre camp up in Twilight Ridge, in Nagrand... seems to be a group of ogres that've teamed up with the Burning Legion. Can't be good news...

Now that i have some facts: melee hits level 70 clothies for about 1500 - 1800. Slow-casting Shadow Bolts will hit for about 2800, and Fireball hits for around 2500. They also have a Curse of Doom-esque DoT called "Impending Doom" that'll hit ya for 2500. Shadow Damage. Melee at close range. Fearable. Woo!

Soloable as hunter. They're not immune to traps, so basically you tank it with pet until low hp, then retreat and trap the mob. Mend up the pet and go again - repeat. A high shadow and fire resistance helps.

Also soloed as a well geared feral druid. Interrupts and stuns are important. Also had to cyclone and heal to full once.

Fearable, as said before, but fear is dangerous, verrrry dangerous here.

As an Affliction warlock, I solo'd these by loading them up all all my non-Curse dots and applying Curse of Tongues to reduce casting time by 60%. This massively helps in reducing the incoming damage, enough that Drain Life offsets the damage from the casts (and occasional melee.)

Do note that I did this with around 1200 shadow damage, so your mileage may vary.

You can solo them as a rogue, you just have to be sure to use Mind-Numbing poison. The nice long cast is a breather from the melee damage, the most I have to use to take care of these guys is evasion between Kidney Shot cooldowns.

Sometimes they stop casting and just decide they want to beat your face in for a while. That can make things difficult.

Soloable as a prot warrior. Alternate spell reflects and shield bash near the end of their cast. Use concussion blow and bandage if you get low on HP. Keep up Demo Shout and Thunderclap to mitigate melee damage. Takes a little while, but it's doable.

I had the misfortune of aggroing one of these while doing "Disrupting the Twilight Portal." As a resto shaman, I dropped Searing totem and melee'd him between heals with Earth Shield on. I just outhealed his damage till he ran oom, then I started chucking in some lightning bolts and shocks. His "Impending Doom" is nasty, Grounding Totem will eat his spells though. Earth Shock will interrupt him. An elemental totem would have probably made it easier, but it slipped my mind.

Had a crack at one as a retribution paladin in not that great gear - Crusader's set + S1 sword, and managed to get him down OK - had to blow Lay on Hands to finish the job however.

Rewarded no repution at honoured.

As an Arms Warrior, these guys are very good practice for playing against caster players.
You need to hone your timing and cooldowns to lock these guys out from 2 different schools of spells.

First, charge them and put up some debuffs (Demo shout, TC). Although their spells are the big hitters, their melee is still reasonably strong.

Switch to Zerker. Once they cast their first spell (Fire or Shadowbolt), interrupt it.
Soon after they'll use the spell they didn't use, let's say you interrupted fireball first, they'll use shadowbolt. When you see them start casting it, immediately start running away and intercept them. If you're fast enough you should've stopped their cast.

Keep meleeing. They'll cast shadowbolt or fireball now. Pummel it.
They'll cast their other spell. Depending on how long your intercept cooldown is, you'll either intercept or use your fear. When you use fear, you'll probably have deep wounds ticking, that's ok, you just need to interrupt the cast.

Keep cycling between pummel and intercept, and if you timed it right, you should take 1-2 spell hits, including impending doom.

I solo'd these guys as a 70 mage, but i had to use every cooldown i had. They do a fireball that hits for 1500-2000, and a shadowbolt that hits for 1700-2000. He has a lot of health, 40,000 i estimate. dropped 90s, a few nethercloth and a lvl 68 trash grey.

I was initially scared of these guys and avoided them. I finally got the guts and solo'd with my warlock only using a trinket.

Yep i was avoiding these 2 until one snuck up on me and i had no where to run. Killed him as resto shammy. tank it drop fire ele, interupt fireball. take the shadow hit. drop grounding totem every so often. earth shield will keep u up..
Lots of health on them.. either that or just crap dps from resto lol

These are also soloable as a feral druid. DPS it in cat form. Save your combo points for maim to interrupt the shadow bolts. If you need to heal, shift out after a maim.

so i went cheap and got my purple through honor.... this guy was easier than a kiteable war... who knew a 70 L33T actually can get feared for the whole 20 sec... good thing for SS; in honestly wit 900 spell, he still took about a minute, mainly bc he ran out of range of SB

fearable -- easy mode for a lock -- just make sure to clear the area around them -- to bad they don't drop anything special

Dropped one of these today as a feral druid. Basically stayed in cat for the most part, pounce - mangle - shred - mangle - maim (regrowth) back to cat, rinse lather repeat from this point.
They have about 41k hp

Dropped a five of furies for me, which went to the AH for 200 gold, sold almost instantly.

As stated, he's fearable. Chain-fearable. Has 32K health. Was an easy fight, but he killed my pet (was only then I noticed in desperation he was fearable). Though I did have some mana issues.

lvl 70 lock. Dropped 66 silver.

As a rogue, it's possible to solo these exhausting every interrupt available such as Kick, Kidney Shot, Gouge, and Blind. His melee shots do about 1.5k so if you're able to stall to the end of his casts do so or disarm and dodge him like mad.

As a 70 Warrior I solo'ed this guy too, he doesn't hit very hard with his melee attacks, its the 2k fireballs and shadowbolts that you have to worry about. Just kill him with his own attacks with spell reflect, then shield bash the next attack. Charge him to interrupt a spell while you wait for you cooldowns, and fear to interrupt as well. Also wait to the end of his cast time to shield bash so that your spell reflect has time to cooldown.
