Meshlok the Harvester is in the purple part of Maraudon.
He's a rare, and his placeholder mob is named Cavern Shambler.

Follow the purple crystals inside until you get to the instance.
Safely inside you will have to pass Lord Vyletongue, and when you pass the first two green blobs that do AoE damage you're nearly at him (if he's there ;)).
It would be wise to bring a Free Action Potion and a major healing potion if you're gonna solo him, because he has a stun that lasts 8 seconds, and that's a lot of damage.

Remember, he wanders up to the falls and back.

To track Meshlok down easier, it would be wise to make a macro.

Just add this in the macro window, and you'll see if the shambler or Meshlok is present:

/target Meshlok
/target Cavern Shambler

Me (45 Combat Rogue) and a friend (70 Pally) farmed this guy for the Fungus Shroud Armor. What we did was I would be the leader of the group, and we would both use the Scepter of Celebras to portal in. He would then take the path to the Poison Falls, and check to see if Meshlok was there. If he was, I would stealth my way up there and kill him.

To reset, I would log out and then log back in (resets the instance and returns you to the entrance) and my friend would run out to the Purple side entrance. Invite your friend back once you log back in, and when he zones in again using the Scepter he'll be in your freshly reset instance.(##RESPBREAK##)652##DELIM##Neutronimity##DELIM##

I don't know if a patch has stopped you from using the macro posted above or what, but the macro does not work unless you are near him.

If you are an enhancement shaman a good replacement item is https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=9479 it loads easier and you only really miss out on 100 ac and 20 hp, but you gain more ap.

This boss is soloable, did solo him with lvl 47 druid...always got the Mail head armor,i think he never drop my chest..killed him around 6 7 times and didn't drop my chest.

A lvl 70 ran me through Mara 5 times to kill Vyletongue and each time we checked on Meshlok. Of those 5 times, he spawned twice and dropped the Fungus Shroud leather chestpiece.

Later, I did solo feign death-runs as a level 49 hunter. I removed all my armour during these runs just in case my FD failed. When I got to the Poison Falls and Meshlok was not there, I aggroed some Lurkers, died and ran back to the instance start to reset.

Each run took me about 15-20 minutes including the running back to corpse. There were about 4 parts of the run which I couldn't avoid aggroing and had to FD, plus all that downtime making sure that my FD cooldown was finished before I continued. Obviously at higher levels you won't be aggroing as many mobs so you could probably sneak back to the instance entrance to restart quicker than corpse-running.

I probably did another 25 such runs before I found him again, and luckily he dropped this headpiece. He was very easy to kill, so the main thing was his spawn rate.

im lvl 57 and still using so i figured that would be a pretty sweet upgrade but i solod this instance 8 times and he NEVER spawned so i said forget it it doesnt really matter because im changing to at lvl 58 anyway so no big loss

- -Very- easy to solo, he feels just like the standard mobs in there.
- Can get to him with only 1 feign death.

Not hard as feral druid 49. Immune to Faerie Fire and Rip but FB is good.

Sigh... have been in 25 times, seen him only twice, both times he dropped the holy cloth, so for me that's only an 8% spawn rate and poor drops. I want the helm, but what a waste of my time...

Seems to have a much lower spawn rate than I remembered. Currently trying to farm him for my rogue and he's only been up 1 time in 16 runs. I assume I'm just unlucky, but don't expect this to be an easy farm.

Also, Cavern Shambler isn't the only possible place-holder mob. There will always be 1 elemental mob that patrols from the top of the falls to back deeper in the cave area, and it can either be a Shambler, Cavern Lurker, or the elusive bastard himself. But if you see a Shambler in the top area of the falls, then Mesh definitely isn't up.

Meshlok patrols from the beginning of the water at the end of the purple instance around where you see your first sludges to the top of the waterfall on the Purple side. I averaged about 1 spawn for every 5 instance checks.

-If you have help, remember that a Priest can Mind Vision 'hop' from mob to mob- it took me about 2 minutes to do each check on my 70 Priest.

-Also keep in mind that the 5 instance cap is per account, not per character. If you were to find him on your 5th run on your 70 (in an attempt to pass the instance off to a friend, then log back in on your Hunter/alt), you would be out of luck.

-If you are checking with a high level character, Mageweave Cloth usually sells pretty well (currently 5g a stack on my server) and several level 40 greens drop as well. If it's plate or chain, those easily sell for 20g+. That can help take a bit of the sting out of farming this over and over again.

Best of luck to all of you. It took me 4 kills and several cycles of instance resets to get this ;)

Long comment, but could save you some time:

I'd like to suggest an alternative to this video in that Meshlock can be kited from the far end of the Wicked Grotto (where he spawns) ALL THE WAY to the top of the Earthsong Falls no social agro. Thus after a simple boosted run of mara Orange and Purple on your twink (to complete of the the Scepter of Celebras) you do not need to "back clear" the entire Purple side as this video shows.

This method requires access to two accounts:
1) Enter Purple and visually check Meshlock's existence in your instance with Account #1
2) Log Account #2 (twink) and have the twink port with the Scepter of Celebras to the Earthsong Falls
3) Place the twink at the base of the Earthsong Falls and set Account #1 to master looter
4) Engage and kite Meshlock (jump off the cliff at the Wicked Grotto and start running) to the top of the Earthsong Falls (you're about 50 yards above the twink now), kill, ML the item to your toon

Didn't get what you want?

Remember, you can keep your twink at the base of the Earthsong Falls by simply "logging out" of the party (exiting the game but not taking the forced hearth for leaving the party). When you log back in you will have a new fresh instance "ID" and can re-invite Account #1 to your new instance (where you are already deep inside) if you need to farm Meshlock again.

Further more, before logging, you can invite a 3rd Account to the party (to hold the instance ID) and log out both Accounts #1 and #2. Account #2 will log back in at the falls with a new fresh instance. Account #1 will log back in at the start of Purple (but in a different instance than Account #2). Simply walk Account #1 outside of the instance and have Account #2 invite Account #1 and repeat the process.

!!!Remember 5 instances per hour per account!!!
If you try this too many times you'll find Account #1 is ported to its hearth stone location. Set Nigel's Point as your home if you wish to avoid a long run back for Account #1.

Hope this is helpful in speeding up your farming.

I have been farming this mob for a couple of days now using a Level 70 warlock for scouting and clearing if needed.

He shows on approximately 1 in 10 resets and as stated is placeheld by the Cavern Shambler. It is possible that his patrol can take him out of /tar range so make sure you check the whole area before leaving to reset.

He is a rare spawn up above the falls Between Vyletongue and Celebras. A 60 rogue can sneak to him and kill him if geared/set up right.

i believe he spawns around the poisonous pool between celebras and vyletongue. He looks like the shamblers, but slightly bigger.

I killed him about 3-4 times before I actually got the armor. He did appear about 1/5 times and would be hard to kill for my lvl 46rogue alone if not impossible.

The best way I found is just to have a stealthed friend run the instance while you run it until one of you actually find him (at the top of the poison falls past Lord Vyle) Then load into who's ever instance you need (just joing their party leave and re-enter the instance) Basically do that until you get that INCREDIBLE armor.

Wash Rinse Repeat as nessicary.

Make a /target Meshlok macro and start mashing it when you get near the poison falls. I went in as a lvl 60 Enhancment Shaman, was able to walk past everything by going in the "back door" by using the staff to open the portal, then I just backtracked to the poison falls until I found him, no stealth or fighting required, just watch your step. Also, he was evading at first, but I stood on top of him and fought him that way and it worked, so yeah he is a bit buggy. But he is otherwise a pushover for a lvl 60 anything.

A couple more bits of info:

- I reset the instance about 15 times before seeing him
- If you made a target macro, you need to be fairly close to him before he will show up using the macro, definitely can't use it from beginning of the instance
- He hits very hard. I died 4 times before I actually downed him. He crit me for upwards of 750, which at lvl 50 (which I am atm) was more than 1/4 of my total health, I know I have gimp gear).
- I am a combat sword rogue, with adrenaline rush, Using Phantom Blade MH, Hanzo Sword OH
- Finally was able to beat him using a Stonescale Pot, greater healing pot, and also used agi pot and str pot. Oh I also used 2 x frost oil on my weapon. Don't think it slowed his attack but he is immune to poison, so I thought it would help my dps a bit.
- Basically tried to stunlock him, use evasion when possible, blad fury/adrenaline rush. I didn't have the pvp trinket so I had to eat a couple stuns.
- Worst part was when I finally killed him, he dropped the f-in head piece. Oh well time to reset the instance again!

Soloed him at lv49 as a hemo spec rogue, had to use 2 evasions and a lv35 healing pot tho, and I finished at like 10% HP :P

A small tip: You can cheap shot him and get some combo points then vanish, and as long as you don't untarget you'll keep all the combo points, and thus can start again already with several combo points on him.

Well, I ran it 8 times tonight.. he spawned twice. Both times got the Mail headgear. I'm level 48 Rogue with Bloodrazor, Helm of Fire, Combat Sword Spec, and I'm an Alchemist. Healing pots almost got me killed, even Major ones. Free Action Pot, and I killed him both times with 60%+ of my health left.

I've got most my 48 BG Reward gear, plus agi pot, str pot, armor pot, frost oil on both blades (since he's immune to poisons and blind powder). Just follow everyone else's advice. Cheap Shot, SS, Vanish. Wait for Cooldown on Vanish (better safe than sorry. Combo points persist as long as you don't attack anything else). Cheap Shot, 5-point Sunder Armor (a must!), Helm of Fire, Adr Rush, Free Action, Evasion, SS, SS, SS, SS, SS, KS... repeat. Only reason I'm not still there is the 5 instance limit per hour. Stealthing past everyone is slow at first, but once you figure out the best paths, it takes about 8 1/2 minutes round-trip.

Use the /target meshlok macro. Saves time.

I know I'm just confirming everyone else's advice. Good advice, all.

Update: I've been getting consistent spawn once every 4 runs. the Frost Oil helps immensely. Finally got it after this last run.. so that makes it 12 runs in total. Hope this info helps.

I had some time on my hands today so I thought I'd give soloing him a try. I had read all the stuff (mostly on the Fungus Shroud Armor thread) about him being difficult even for level 56 rogues ... and all the stuff about him never spawning, or never dropping the armor. To my pleasant surprise, it was very easy.

It only took me 7 instances to get the armor.

Instance 1: Didn't spawn
Instance 2: Dropped Nature's Embrace cloth armor
Instance 3: Dropped Bloomsprout Headpiece mail helm
Instance 4: Didn't spawn
Instance 5: Didn't spawn
Instance 6: Didn't spawn
Lucky #7: Dropped Fungus Shroud

I did wipe twice -- once because I didn't hit the health pot (I only needed one more shot to kill him and he dodged like 5 straight attacks, then critted me for 600 ... the cheating bass turd), and the second time because my opening cheap shot failed and everything went awry from there.

The last fight wasn't even close as everything went perfect for me. A Cold Blood/Evis crit of 1180 near the start set the tone.

I was sporting a lvl-48 Sentinel's Blade and a Shadowblade (with solid sharpening stones - no enchants). I buffed up with some agility, strength and stamina scrolls/pots that I picked up for about 25s each at AH to help out.

From my experience, he does appear to spawn about 50% of the time. If you don't see him, stealth back and reset the instance and try again. It's about a 7-minute roundtrip.

By the way, I'm only level 51, Assassination specced. You can check me in the armory, "Radriegal" on the Echo Isles server.

For those of you who might be scared off by claims that he's too tough to solo until level 53, 54 or even 56, don't listen to them. Just keep your head about you and make sure to use all the tricks available to you.

Well I'm in the process of twinking out my hunter so I brought a friend with me to mara. We had some bad luck for a bit but then we got real lucky.

It is possible to kill Meshlok at level 48. I am level 48 Rogue Assassin spec. I just cheap shot him to start with, then while he is stunned I worked up my combo points, kidney shot. Then while he was down I would work my combos back up and would use cold blood for a nice crit. However, this bad boy tends to break from stun so it would be in your best interest to go equipped with a couple major healing potions and free action potions. Dont bother with poisons because as mentions previously .... they dont work. I have an Arena Grandmaster https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19024/arena-grand-master. I am also equipped with Helm of Fire, Scout's Medallion, Phytoskin Spaulders, Sergeant's Cloak +12 Agi, Jangdor's Handcrafted Tunic +40 Armor, Forest Stalker's Bracers +4 All Stats, Gloves of Holy Might, Defiler's Leather Girdle, Blackstrom Leggings, Defiler's Leather Boots, Aquamarine Signet of the Monkey,Truesilver Commander's Ring, Legionnaire's Sword +crusader - Main, Shadowblade +LifeStealing, Guttbuster.

I (stealth) ran through Mara approximately 10 times before seeing this creepy crawler. When I finally found him he dropped the helm. So I will continue my quest for that awesome chest piece.

Figured I'd give this a shot. 49 Rogue, deep Assassination spec. So, after reading all the info here, I go in with kind of low expectations.

I used a /target Meshlok macro (it works well enough) to locate him after stealthing in to his area. He spawned on the 5th go. I used some +12STA food, had poisons on my weapons (forgot he's immune), and had a Free Action Potion on hand. Cheapshotted -> Kidney shot at 5cp, but he parried my KS, and proceeded to stomp me pretty dang good. I didn't really have a chance. Right after my FA potion wore he stunned me and I was quite dead.

I went back in and rebuffed, this time putting Solid Sharpening Stones on my weapons. Again with the CS -> KS (this time successful) and I was doing okay (except a lack of crits on my part), and he stunned me and I trinketed. He stunned me again right after that and critted me 3 times in a row. Ouch. I Vanished and waited on cooldowns, and rebuffed.

This time I used an Agility and Defense pot, even made a Limited Invulnerability potion, ate the +12STA food again. I did the typical Cheapshot->Kidneyshot again, this time got some good crits. Built to 5 CPs(used Evasion now and a health pot for good measure) and layed down a Cold Blood Evis. By that time he was a 25%~ health so I just finished him off. I ended with over 80% health. I didn't even have to pop that Invulnerability potion I had.

Oh, I also had the Talisman of Arathor (absorbs about 400 damage or so) and used that at the beginning of all the fights. The last fight was so easy, I'm pretty sure I could have won it with no pots or anything at all. The first two fights just went badly, with misses and crits and such.

Got the Fungus Shroud armor, too.

Oh yeah. Stealth run to his position took about 10 minutes each go, slightly more if you stop to pick up Ghost Mushrooms (they sell nicely). When he didn't spawn, I unequipped all my gear and just died, ran to the instance and reset it once there.

pretty hard as a 48 sub/ass rogue, died a a couple of times & vanished a few b4 I found something that worked (although it was just as likely to fail) Lack of +hit is what hurts us subbys/ass rogues in pve. Anyway, I used prem for 2 combos, then cs & vanished. waited a few seconds then ambushed hard & hit expose armor stright away with 5 combos. defilers trinket+ghostly which enabled me to dps/ss for a bit without losing too much health, he stunned me during this but pvp trinket breaks it (nvm about the posts above ;-p it does work). Then hit evasion & built up to 5 combos & regained some energy. Got stunned again before I could get ks off, & he took 'a lot' of health off me during this stun :-( Hit ks when I came out of the stun gulped a combat healing pot (forgot to bring the better pot with me :-o) & managed to get 2 bs crits on him in the 5 sec, then I hit prep & used a second evasion with ghostly also. Gouged & bs again when I had enough energy, another bs crit. At this stage he had about 200 health & I had about 450ish. I finished him with a ss but I was really only 1 crit/stun away from dieing myself .

Wow, changed from sub to combat & killed him 2 more times, dropped on the second spawn. I figured it would be easier as combat, but not that easy. Opened with cheapshot (only stun I used) then hit adrenaline & blade fury, spammed 3 ss on him & an eviscerate, stunned me, hit pvp trinket & hit him with 3 more ss b4 adrenaline ran out, riposte lit up, hit him with that & he was almost dead, I think I hit 1 more ss before eviscerate & that was it. Didn't use a pot, no evasion, no defilers talisman. He only took 900 health off me, lol

Try to locate meshlok for 4 days, reset the instance > 30 times, he only spawned 3 time.

anyone have the problem that it wont let u go into anymore instances? I've gone through it at least 40 times w/o him spawning. Im on my lvl 41 hunter(going to twink at 49) I had a 70 help me here. Is it my level that might prevent him from spawning or something? Plz help

ok basically i believe its just random luck he even spawns at all. in the past 3 days out of probably 30 runs hes only spawned 6 times, and 4 times he dropped the mail and the other 2 times dropped the cloth, he hasn't dropped the leather ever for me, who is a 48 druid trying to get it so i can pvp at 49, and ive basically spent all my time these past days stealth running it and resetting the instance more time then i can count. i contacted a GM to see if there might be a problem with his respawning, but he didnt provide any help. so all i can say is keep trying until u get it.

I remember before BC it took me about 20-30 trys to get the leather armor on my rogue. Usually he didn't spawn, the few times he did he was hard to kill and dropped some other armor, but then finally dropped the leather.

Now, with having to wait to reset the instance after 5 trys, farming him would be even worse. I have a twink hunter and would like to get the mail headgear from him, but I won't because it's not worth it. Not only that but for the headgear it's easy to put a libram enchant on a BoE head item while the BoP item from meshlok would require the help from someone else to get that enchanted--too much of a pain.

Partly Brag partly Hope.

I had tried 8 times in parties to get the armor, lost 4 rolls including one to a hunter. That roll killed the party on the spot. Next, I two rogued it, and found Meshlok and easily took her down. But after losing to the need roll, we agreed up front to both need, he came back trying to bag Meshlok 2 more times and thats when we discovered 5 instances in an hour deal. He left and I logged off.

Logging back on, I was able to stealth to location of Meshlok 5 times, and she did not appear. I began to think I needed to be in a party to have her appear. I read this comment string, and logged back on. Really, I just wanted to prove she would appear to me solo, and maybe find out how hard she would be to kill, see if I would be able to do her as a 46 rogue. After maybe 10 more logs she appeared. Woot. I ate, took greater agility pot, took agility scroll, took stamina scroll, took protection scroll (all can be bought from roaming guys in Desolace with the selling tron robot thing.

I stealthed, and as was suggested, cheapshot and ss, then vanished, ambush and Eviserate. I then used my insignia when stunned the first time, and took a greater healing pot mid fight. Also, I used my dodge and my trinket that takes 300 = melee from pvp. Woot, I killed her. Sigh, she dropped cloth chest, I vendored for a gold, didn't even cover pots and scrolls.

I went back, armed and hopeful, and found her on second try in. Thought it might be easier and failed to buff as well. I died. Ran back, stealthed in and she was still there. I buffed and did as I said above and killed her. Got the Armor. Cheered in my computer room. Who do I tell, who will understand, I took screen shot. I present it to you, soloed at 45. You can do it too. Keep at it. GL Necrophyliac (I am submitting screen shot I hope with this, but maybe above)

I will say the idea about targeting him with a macro was much more helpful that it may seem. He was NOT in the falls near the center which makes me believe he roams all of the falls. I'll be trying at a later date to get the Fungus Armor. Good advice so far everyone!

The guy is 46 and is very easy to solo now. He is barely more than a normal elite, apart from the annoying stun and cleave type abil he has. I wanted to pounce and mangle/shred him in cat but it missed so I flipped bear and battered him down. Didn't need to properly heal at all so EZ mode. The best way to see if he's there is to find the mob that pats down to the other elemental at the bottom of the watery passageway (with the annoying green bubble things). This is from my experiences farming Fungus Shroud.

It took me...about 20 runs to make this guy spawn, even then i couldnt see him. You need to use /tar mesh each and everytime to make sure hes not there.

I fought him down the little pathway in the yellow water, theres a wall on each side.

What you need : Thistle Tea, Major Healing Pot, Scroll of Stamina, Scroll of Agility.

Now, i will admit, this fight is based a lot on luck, if you miss gouge, CS, or KS, you're going to die.

My build is 31/20/0 Im level 50. I use Satyr's Lash, and Julies dagger as weapons.

First off, put crippling on mainhand, and instant on offhand.

Heres the basic fight strategy.

I got my Fungus Shroud on the 4th kill. Like i said, if you miss CS, KS, Gouge you're pretty much dead, you will DEFINATELY die if you miss CS, or KS.

I've done this instance with groups that wanted to farm Mesh lok for his gear. 11 times and no spawn...
I'm not sure if the Bloomsprout Helm is worth this much aggravation.

Me and a buddie rogue got him last night we kept resetting instance to get him. He is one of the Swamp Thing looking elementals. He was patrolling on top of the waterfallls with that really nasty green water. He was cake for me (51) and my buddie (52) only thing is he has a really nasty STUN! Its a 5 second stun but he hits pretty hard so becarful. On a plus note he can be stunned so when we go back to get my buddie's chest piece it will be Stunlock 4tw. Hope I awnsered your questions on him

I soloed this as a lv49hunter, hes really easy to kill. hes the only thing that pats in the area so if a cavern lurker or shambler is pating then hes not there.I got helm i wanted after the 6th time i killed him

1st time:Fungus Shroud Armor-i decide to equip it cuz it wasnt that bad
2nd time:Nature's Embrace- :(
3rd time:Fungus Shroud Armor- :(
4th time:Fungus Shroud Armor- i was gettin pissed cuz it was the 3rd time i got this
5th time:Nature's Embrace- still no head >_<
6th time:Bloomsprout Headpiece- finally got head :D

kinda funny cuz the 6th meshlok was right after the 5th meshlok

I've ran it twice now, wasn't there the first time, but he was the second time. The second time I thought he wasn't there then all the sudden he popped out of the ground.

I'm a 60 rogue using stormshroud/devilsaur sets, only using Thrash/Hanzo... killed him without kidney shotting or evasion.. just CS/SS/SS/CB-Evis and then melee'd the rest of his life away.

First kill he dropped Bloomsprout Headpiece. I'm going back in for another attempt.

BTW he is up top of the waterfalls.. not down in the water.. he's up on the top by all the tribal looking stuff. He walks a path so walk all over to find him.

Edit: Ran it 11 times now; he's spawned once. Each run is taking me at least 10 minutes (alliance FP is north desolace... Mara is further south). I wish it would spawn more.

wow this guy was SO annoying to find. It took me 15 tries to find hime ONCE! When i did i fought him 5 times, dieing everytime. I am a lvl 48 kinda twink human rogue with a bloodrazor w/ crusader enchant and still I couldnt beat him, w/o any pots of course, whats the fun in using pots XP. so i figured this aint gonna work so i when to darnasus got pots and went back and to my great surprize, he wasnt thr anymore. i was look omfg wtfx100. so now my lvl 63 hunter friend comes to help me and we got the shoulders from razorlash taht i wanted and looked for meshy bout 8 times.. failing every time. so my guess is he spawns 5% of the time and is annoying the one time i have a high lvl with me he doesnt show. so annoying. Still its all worth it in the end cuz I NEED FUNGUS SHROUD ARMOR! I wont stop till i do. btw, he isnt bugged. i found he at the 2 beggining little green globs.

He spawns in the place of the one roamer. If you're facing the falls to jump down the spawn point is the left corner in the water. He wanders across the island that's right there and falls through the floor. If you face the island and do /tar mesh if he's there he should get on target. After about 1-2 mins he starts to walk again and pops out of the island a little ways in front of it. If you see the roamer he's not up.

A rare named, only seen him twice in about 6-7 runs. He appears at the area where you first see the big slimes (after Lord Vyletongues area).

Meshlok is walking around in the yellow water between poison falls and and Vyletongue's Seat. I run into the instance 4 times, and on the fourth time he appeared, I soloed him with my 54 rogue very easy. I did even not use evasion or healing pots(but you better bring at least one heal pot). Dropped the chest on the first kill of him :D.

What i was wondering if does that target trick still works to see if he is in?

Also me (hunter) and a friend of me(hunter) got 2 heart of noxxian, 2 groverkeepers drape, 2 Phytoskin shoulders, 2 chloromesh girlde and Vinerot Sandals in about 1 hour, so thats some nice NR if u need it for AQ40

Btw in this hour we never seen him(around 6-7 resets)

I just solo'd him as a nicely geared, dual dagger, 49 rouge on hyd. used 1 mongoose elixer and 1 superior defense before engaging. Had no frost oil so i sharpened up. I got him to spawn on the third stealth in. I used a shady method of building my intial combo points, but im a rouge so shady is ok. Since combo points never go away if mob remains near, I was stealthed, cs, than vanished, waited for vanish to cooldown, and repeated. That gave me 4 free cp and a vanish if needed. Now that i had 4 cp for free, I cb>ambush>(now 5 points)expose>evasion>helm of fire>mashed ss>heal pot before stun>took a stun stompin>ss again>5p ks>bs>bs>gulped a tea>bs again>ss>4p evis. He was down and i still had most of my health left. Got fungus shroud on drop WOOOOOT!

I think the free 4 combo points really did the trick for an opening rush, maybe a little shady, but it worked well!

I made a target macro but didnt need it he was right in the open.

p.s. hes kinda weak health wise 6700 compared to razorlash at 13k

Where to begin, it feels like I've spent so much time trying to get this armor now.

I've reset the instance close to 20 times and seen Mesh 4 of those times. The first time I beat him I was level 50 and the three times after that I was level 51. I'm 8-31-3 combat spec using Thrash Blade and Hanzo Sword.

The first time I tried fighting him I followed some of the tips on the forums here and tried to sorta stun lock him as best as I could, but I found myself struggling to win. I had to use a giant heal pot, I had to run away and use a Heavy Runecloth bandage. All in all it was pretty tough.

I went back with a better plan and managed to kill him all three times without any healing pots or even bandages. The most critical thing you need to get is some Free Action potions. These will prevent him from stunning you; I'm surprised I didn't see that already listed here, but they nullify his only real devistating attack.

Here was my strat:

- Cheapshot
- SS
- Adrenaline
- Free Action Potion
- SS
- SS
- Expose Armor (5 points)
- Evasion
- SS/Evisc for the win

I use Thistle Tea in there too, but I don't know where to list it since I just try to time it so that I have 0 energy. I also used Deadly Poison III on my main hand and Instant Poison IV on my offhand. Doing it this way, all you need is Tea and a Free Action potion.

Now for the sucky part: Out of all these attempts to get this damn armor, all I have gotten is the other junk. I got Nature's Embrace three times and Bloomsprout Headpiece the other time. Definitely extremely frustrating but I haven't given up yet.

Just got chest from it.
He spawned 2 times of 10 runs i think.
We were 2: 46 rogue and me, 47 decent geared feral druid.
Trick is in resetting instance, when you are in group,
cause you got about 5 times in hour limit, when you are alone.
We tried to check for spawn apart from each other, but that limit apeared.
So do it in 2-3 stealth group.
There are 3 bad things:
- irritating jumping grells in the very beginning =)
- 2-3 stealthed patrols (so remember where they go and sneak near walls there)
- green poison creepers can poison shock you even without aggroing, so be careful

i had just finished a run that we started off in tthe falls thanks to the portal thing and i knew about this guy so i thought i'd sneak off afterwards for him.

got to his location and luckily he was there. being a lvl 48 feral druid with good gear i solo'd him easy, extreeeeeeeemely luckily for me he dropped the chest piece! woot.

overall a lucky experience.

he was in the river of nasty water i cant remember its colour it was green or brown or something and there were demons all around. There were those green blobs that rolled around sort of exploding all the time nearby aswell.

If you're searching desperately for this guy, just sit around where he's supposed to spawn for 30 seconds or so, he might be there even if you don't see him. He has a knack of falling through the top of the waterfall briefly. Also helps if you do a "/tar mesh". Just incase anyone was running it over and over again and having no luck with seeing him ^^

Im a 47 rogue atm and im planning to try and get the fungus shroud armor when i reach 50, i was just wondering is meshlok considered an elemtental, if so u think it would be smart to get the elemental slaying enchant on both blades ( i dont have any enchants atm so it wouldnt make me lose any other enchants)

Oh ya also does he deal nature damage at all like many other things in maraudon, just wondering if he does, so ill know if i should bring a nature prot pot

My 2 cents on this one.

killed him as a 54 first try. the free action potion is a must. other than that do what ya want. my problem was finding this beast, mostly cause i didnt know how to properly reset an instance. Nobody wanted to take the time to help.

Just having someone invite you and disbanding does not reset the instance like i was told.
What i acutally had to do was have someone invite me, enter the instance and have them make me leader. then i can boot them or they can disband. I actually stealthed it 10 times...which was probably the same non reset instance. hopefully this saves some time for someone.

Meshlok spawns in the water between Vyletongue's Seat and the drop off to Celebras' area.

Hits for about 200-400 on crit, war-stomps for 290 or so, and I'd approximate him at 3000-4000 Hp.

At level 53 I snuck in via FD/soloing into his area, and after taking out the surrounding slimes soloed him for the headpiece.

Frankly I think its the best Hunter helmet availeable until Helm of Tyranny/Eyepatch of Rage (2% crit one)

as a 55 rogue i soloed him easy, im combat sword specced, using thrash blade and vanquishers sword, all i used was blade flurry adrenaline rush and evasion, and he went down like a sack of sh*t! :>

edit: and a superior healing pot, but wasnt really necessary.

7 stealth runs to find him, standard attack just cheapshot and sinister x5 follow with a eviscerate, pop a tea, sinster 2 or 3 times, by now you should be low gouge him and bandage throw the last sinister on him evis again, pop a healing pot at this time as you will prob be low again, and beat him down, he killed me just as i evis for the third time and killed him, went back to loot, got my armor

so its pretty easy, the free action pot and sharpening stones probably would have made this fight easier but its not necessary if you are decent, good luck

So he is at the top of the falls, the point where you would jump down to avoid the ramp down? With the two demon mobs to the left and right which are not a necessary engage? I ran all around this area, never quire sure where he's supposed to spawn. BTW, what is he, an elemental? One of those bigger demons?

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere but Meshlok is immune to poisons. So I strongly suggest picking up a few Dense Sharpening Stones for your weapons.

It took about 2 weeks to finally have him show up. He is indeed a RARE spawn and was also indeed warped under the floor when I first arrived.

I took an odd approach as I was level 48 when I did this. 31/8/0 Assassination spec. The biggest thing is having the right attitude. If you play defensive like you might lose, then you probably will.

I went in and attacked with a cheapshot and backstab and vanished right off the bat to build up a few combo points. I wasn't planning on losing, so I didn't need or plan on having vanish ready.

After the initial combo points I was ready to begin the actual fight. Go in with a cheapshot, then, since you have 5 CPs, go for the Evisc. Just before stun breaks chug down a Free Action Potion so, as mentioned in another post, he cannot stunlock you.

I prefer the GBS (Gouge + Backstab) to the SSS (Sinister Strike Spam) due to spec and weapons. But do whatever you have to do to get 5 points up there and lay down another evisc. I used my cold blood on the second 5 pointer and he dropped down to about 10% health. Popped evasion and finished him off the rest of the way with regular SS/Evisc combos.

My luck continued as he dropped the BP on the first attempt :)

Soloed him today at level 48 (8/31/0 spec). Was planning on CS>SS>vanish to build up 3 combo points but vanish failed so I was stuck with him. Drank a free action potion right then and there, hit him with another 2 SS's to build 5 combo points and layed down expose armor. Hit evasion>adrenaline rush>blade flurry built up 5 combo points and layed down SnD. Think I got 3 more CP built up (from SS) before adrenaline rush and evasion were done, a riposte, another SS and 4 point evis killed him. I had about 1200 of my 2725 hp left after the fight. Only pot used was a &*! and no poisons (since he's immune) or sharpening stones.

Took me 4 runs to see him (and 3 more after I killed him)... cape dropped

Gear is in profile but since it'll change here's what I was using, figure it might be useful to guage how tough the fight will be?:

I just downed him as a lvl 47 rogue on bloodscalp ( Denial ), he was tough, but i dodged/he missed on his last stun which saved my ass basically.

i didn't use any buffs, just a major healing pot, Insignia of the Horde, Evasion, AB shield and beserking ( troll ).

Opened with ambush ( crit 390 i weeped! ), then upto 5 with hemo, and then reduced armour.

Afterwards it was a combination of hemo/ss, i used evasion once, took out a stun with Insignia and used 4 points to kidney shot him and then bandage ( i use heavy netherweave, so a good buff )

When he went down i had apprx 7% health ( out of 2800 ) and it really was down to him missing me with the last stun, otherwise i'd have been dead for sure

He's not hard to find, if he's there you won't miss him. He patrols from the first lurker you see after the 2 slimes, up to the waterfall. Easy to take down too, just a pain waiting for him to spawn. I saw him 4 times from around 25 runs.

Yeah a while back in mara we went in, (lasted 5 minutes, blame the rogue =P) we came across this guy, he dropped his fungerus shroud armour and our rogue got so happy, he aggrod heaps of guys, killed us, spirit rezzed and ran

As a 48 feral druid I found this guy is actually rather easy if you get the timing down. I stealthed in and he showed up after the first reset. He spawns in the tunnel with green water and slimes that connects the purple side to the center area. The trick is timing your self heals so they don't get interrupted by his stun. Be watching your health at all times and don't wait until your low to heal as if it gets interrupted, it's lights out. Give yourself every time you heal yourself, use rejuv to help buy you some more time. As far as health goes, he doesn't seem to be any more resilient than the other trash, just has the stun and hits a bit harder. It took me a few wipes to get the timing down, but when I did, I finished him off with nearly full health w/o even needing a pot. Fortunately, he dropped the armor so I didn't have to worry about going back and doing it again. Keep at it. One other thing. Make sure you aggro him in the middle of the tunnel so as not to get adds. If you don't see him, use /target Meshlok as his patrol route stretches well beyond the tunnel.

It took me several deaths to figure out a strat for taking this guy down. I've killed him twice tonight (in about 30 instance resets) and gotten that retarded helmet both times. Here's what I use and how I do it:

Gnomish Battle Chicken
Major Healing Potion
Thistle Tea
Mithril Frag Bomb
Fishliver Oil (this stuff is amazing)

This guy is immune to blind but is not immune to icy weapon. :D

1) Ambush, hope it crits.
2) Evasion
3) Battle chicken
4) ss
5) ss
6) tea
7) ss
8) ks
9) ss
10) wait.. gouge
11) vanish (it turns to the chicken now)
12) prep
13) ambush, hope it crits.
13.25) evasion
13.5) fishliver oil (you should be immune to his war stomp by this point as he uses it often)
14) tea
15) ss
16) ss
17) ks (if chicken still lives then you've won the fight at this point.. if not then)
18) major healing potion
19) buttonmash and hope he doesn't crit you for 600+. you should be able to win it here..

ps: after prep,ambush you can also vanish and ambush him again if you are fast enough to do it before he kills the chicken.

i ran this three times, all three he was up...he is kinda buggy, you have to go in the corner, agro him, at which point he pops to underneith the center island, out of range, even if he is hitting you, and then wait for him to forget about you and then pop up from underneith the center island...but he was up all 3 times, dropped the robe twice, and the headdress, which i was really after (coming for you Huhuran), the third time.

edit:
btw, 60 hunter, he never took my pet past 50%, and i didn't heal it. i did have aspect of the wild on, though not sure if the damage was nature or physical. also, pretty easy to find if you know the area to look. he is on top of the falls, and just /tar mes and you will see him if he's up...he does walk up and down the corridor though, so if you catch him at the wrong time, you could be /tar and he could be out of range or whatever

Found Meshlok on my forth reset of the instance. Attempted 3 times to take him without a free action potion. Got him to 2% one time and died. Ported back to IF and got some sharpening stones, free action pot, and an armor pot. Stealthed back in and took him down. I had to bandage once after I stunned him. He does hit very hard and the stun on you is devistating. I highly recommend the free action pot, makes life a whole lot easier. You can gouge him, works well, but he is immune to blind and poisons. He dropped the Fungus for me, very happy to receive that. Also, was able to farm 17 ghost mushrooms during the resets of the instance so got some nice coin and a sweet piece of armor for my efforts. If you read the prior posts about strategy you'll be fine. He was 48+ for me.

Since no one could specify exactly which mob and exactly where he is.

He is the ONLY sludge dood that PATHS along the river. (the UPPER river)

He is the pather that paths between "Slime Encounter" and "Poison Falls" on that map.

Easiest way to get to him is through purple side in my opinion. Was rare as heck to get to spawn. Just kept checking that pather for him or normal mob. and reset instance when it was normal mob.

So I've been farming for this rare on my Classic shaman for pre-raid BiS healing chest and wanted to share what I learned. Starting from a Princess run and backtracking. The place holder for this rare isn't always a cavern shambler and can be a cavern lurker also. Since there are multiple cavern lurkers nearby it can make targeting a shambler or Meshlok useless. I timed the patrol path of the mob and from below the water fall (where I /target him from) it takes him 2 minutes and 34 seconds from when he leaves targetable range until he re enters it. Because of this I just /target Meshlok from just below where he patrols for the duration of 2 mins and 34 seconds. if you don't target him in that time frame then he didn't spawn. I hope this helps out anyone else farming for this rare and good luck !

Having done numerous resets for the purpose of herb farming, I decided to give an update regarding his loot table and spawn chance for Classic WoW.

He has a 10%-20% chance of spawning in your load-in. The most I've seen him in 5 resets is twice (2/5). I have yet to see him 3/5.

Furthermore, he does indeed drop Ghost Mushroom. This is not listed in his loot table and I speculate it must be a really low drop chance.

This guy was pretty easy as a 49 rogue, comments make it sound way harder.

Just go in satyr side, from my experience he only spawns up top before u go down the center path and unlike the comments his placeholder mob can be either of the other type of big bois. The placeholder mob is the only mob that moves up and down up there in the green pools, so you will see very fast if its spawned.

I found that it was easiest to log out for 5min to make myself go to entrance, takes maybe 3 min to run out anyway, and if i didnt kill anything inside it seemed to send me to graveyard instead. So what i did was i went inside checked, killed one elite then set google timer for 5m20sec and pressed logout.

I am a quite good geared rogue i farmed almost all dungeon drops at lvl 49, and i am combat spec but he is very easy. I only died one time when all went to bad he resisted kidney, he dodged gouge, i had vanish on cd from brainded running inside(only time i needed to reset him) and he landed good crits etc. Had to kill him 6 times. Last kill when he dropped i was still 90% hp after using one bandage during fight. xD Basically since i found out he was so weak and could be overpowered, i just cheap shot opener pump at him. After his first 8 sec stun i could gouge+sprint and run to bandage or just straight bandage, and trying to get evasion in sometime after a stun so i can get most use. Keep healing potions at hand. If you are a weaker rogue you might have to gouge kite some more i guess to make more space for bandages and the like but man he just gotta get pumped asap so you dont suffer too many of those huge stuns.
