Why are player characters still hostile against each other in the Shadowlands era? The 4th war has ended, and Alliance and horde cooperate to free the leaders of the opposing faction in the Maw. Also, there are no faction specific settlements in Shadowlands, the whole conflict does not make sense. The best would be to make this a player choice, toggled by war mode:
Faction identity is paramount but the faction leaders are more often than not holding hands, and all warmongering faction leaders are killed off.WTH?
ion ur a clown.
Ion's response that the imbalance exists only at the high tiers of raiding, and that there isn't anything causing the fun of the game to be disturbed simply isn't true. When I show up at a world quest as an Alliance player, on my server set after the last server mergers, it's massively occupied by Horde at at 90/10 ratio. This makes it more difficult to complete the quest when all the targets are getting scarfed up by the Horde, and there are few faction mates there to overpower the quest goals. This means this is the way the game will be for a very long time if WoW Management are simply are not aware of the impact on the open world play.
What caused the faction imbalance? The creation of Blood Elves with TBC.
I don't understand how this entire article exists without any mention of PVP (rated and unrated both.) The faction imbalance is something that DIRECTLY affects PVP players in a way that's MUCH more profound than those who primarily PVE.I hope someone asks them about this and pushes them to talk about actual analytics on wins/losses in both rated and unrated battlegrounds and arenas as related to both factions.
The faction thing just really hurts the game at this point. For the Night Fae!
While i agree that crossplay is surely welcomed and we did team up multiple times in the face of a planet rending threath it was purely because just of that...a threath that would not differentiate between horde or alliance. The Orcs are still "Invaders" no matter how many Years have gone by and the Nightelves will NEVER give up that Grudge that they fostered for, only gods knows (because they suck at doing a proper timetable) now.Same with the Humans who lost 2 Kingdoms to the Horde under the Legions influence and countless new Grudges have been made even under the free will Horde. It makes no Sense to suddenly embrace a Century old long Enemy in your own Ranks. To many Wounds where done in lore to just say "you know what...screw that they are happy friends now" They would have to dedicate nearly a complete xpac to explain why horde and alliance start working together permanently.Roleplayers would also go crazy. There is a Reason why Players who want to stay neutral mainly play Pandaren and only swear allegiance to Pandaria in their roleplay.
