This is really a good change as drums could have ended up turning into the new world buffs but worse as an annoying requirement for everyone to have just to raid.
Make it raid wide. You only need 4 leatherworkers in raid. GG
Please, please, please. This is my last worry when it comes to classic TBC.
This was basically engineering for classic.
So it basically comes down to this: for the entirety of Vanilla Classic, a meta with mandatory Engineering for Goblin Sappers Charges and expensive or rare consumes like Flask of Petrification, Flask of Wisdom and somesuch was fine. But the moment Skinning, the most worthless of all professions, stands to actually have a regular income past pre-raid BiS items, they need to bring out the nerf hammer. This is poorly considered at best and a slap in the face to players actually wanting to use their profession otherwise. And the people who "asked for this beforehand" were probably the same people who think imposing a gold cap would in any way stop botters, boosters, AH goblins and gold sellers from "ruining the economy".Let the players choose if they want to adhere to the Hardcore-Meta or not (hint: most guilds won't). The change from #NoChanges to #SomeChanges is very welcome, but this is carebearing at its worst.
OR.. drums give more haste, but apply a debuff to each player that prevents them from benefitting from drums for a minute or two, which is a change I believe they instituted later in wow (for any abilities that increase haste group/raid-wide).That way it's more of a niche/burst mechanic, rather than something that everyone has the entire time (which is kind of boring imo). This way it could be coordinated and timed with cooldowns and trinkets for all players when you need that extra dps.
Our raid during sunwell we allways had 5 LW chaining drums was the best thing ever made things way too easy aswell
Well i've played on TBC private servers and those changes are going way too far. Keep things as they were unless its some absolute bug fiesta
Blossard: We wont do any changes this timealso blizzard: but we might change this hehe idk maybe XD
This was the only change that I felt was really needed for TBC classic.
This sound they will just make them raid-wide, which is a welcome change. Bring at least 4 people with leatherworking and you're set :)
Then you're very naive. It wouldn't be mandatory just as the world buffs aren't mandatory anyway. Sure, you can shoot your own leg, but who does that other than few chosen masochist? This is one of the most important changes for TBC and I can't describe how glad I'm they're adressing the drums and nerfing them so LW isn't mandatory.
I'll be benefiting the raid with my Moonking Aura, as I alwyas have throughout Classic.
I literally had two wishes regarding TBC - fresh servers around 2 months before the launch (with BE/Draenei available) and drums change. When I've heard they don't plan to cap max gold and neither they will launch new servers (at least not at TBC launch), I was ready to give up - since while I played Classic a lot, I didn't play it everyday and farmed the gold like there is no tomorrow. Now at least I'm getting the latter, which is a saving grace.
Getting the ZA bear mount relied heavily on rotating drums back in the original TBC. Making this change may require a timer change on the ZA raid.
